About a year and a half ago I purchased a Jawbone headset. The fit for my ear was probably the worst I have ever had. I purchased a custom molded earpiece from AverySound. From that point on, I had absolutely no issues with the Jawbone. Its NoiseShield™ Technology (noise cancelling) actually worked in all kinds of environments and the call sound quality on my end was simply great. I destroyed the headset a few weeks ago by washing it in my pants pocket (something I NEVER do) and was of course not happy about it sinse the Jawbone isn't exactly cheap.
While online looking for a new Jawbone at their website, low and behold, they just released a new model of Jawbone. 1/2 the size and weight of the original. They have improved upon their NoiseShield™ Technology with NoiseAssassin™ Technology. I purchased one and recieved it just today. It like the original sucks for fit. Not quite as bad, but bad enough that I emailed AverySound to see if they would make a custome mold for the new model. From the limited use I have had with it besides the fit issue, it seems to be another homerun.
So finally, my questions are:
Has anyone on the board purchased either the original or new jawbone and what were/are your impressions of the device?
Lastly, wonder why in the world, a company that has produced arguably the best bluetooth headsets to date not be concerned with fit.
The original bluetooth was CNET's highest rated headset ever.
