Been trying to find some music from the 90's that I used to listen to in my high school days.
Anybody know any good rock or alternative tunes from the 90's. I got quite a few but I know there is alot more than what I have.

Bush's 3-4 hits from the mid-90's are always a good pick (Glycerine, Machinehead, Little Things, etc.)
Perhaps some Suicidal Tendencies "Nobody Hears" or Danzig "Mother '93"?
Anything from the Metallica black album (perhaps live versions from the Binge & Purge box set, or Woodstock '94). Another great one from Load (1996) is "Ain't My (female dog)"
Other: White Zombie - Thunder Kiss 65 Body Count - The Winner Loses Infectious Grooves (w/ Ozzy) - Therapy Motley Crue - Primal Scream Anthrax (w/ PE) - Bring The Noise
Anything from Pantera, but personal favorites include Mouth For War, Domination, Cemetary Gates, Becoming, Strength Beyond Strength, Cowboys From Hell, and Hostile.
I'm a bit of a hair metal junkie, so I thought Skid Row's Slave To the Grind album (1992) was good, especially Slave To the Gring, In A Darkened Room, Monkey Business, and Wasted Time.

Good picks.
Metallica's "Black" album was huge in the 90's also.

Thanks guy's. I've got most of Bush, Nirvana, Soundgarden etc.
While those are good i've never really been the Metal type. I do like Danzig, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, White Zombie and Ozzy though, Woodstock 94 sounds like something to look into.I pretty much like all types of music but mostly Grunge and Alternative.
Kind of looking for stuff similar to Fuel, Greenday, Live, Eve 6, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime, Tonic, Stone Temple Pilots, Third Eye Blind, Our Lady Peace and stuff like that. Stuff that was pretty popular hit's from around 1994 and up.

Geez clutch if you were talking 70s or 80s I'd be able to help ya' out.
I don't have many CDs that were recorded after 1989, lol.
Some of my fave songs from the 90s:
Hey Jealousy (Gin Blossoms) Lightning Crashes (Live)
Misery (can't remember the name of the band but they also did Runaway Train)
That song that goes "if you would step out from that ledge my friend, you would cut ties from all the lies that you've been living in... I would understand"... or something like that
Geez, this list ain't that long, it's a shame Triumph did nothing in the 90s.

Thanks, but that's not it. The song I quoted is sorta like Green Day, with acoustic guitar but punkish, in a way.

The line between alternative and metal was blurred during the 90's by grunge.

It's cool. I listen to stuff from the 50's clear up until current music.
I just wanted some songs from my high school days. Me and my friends get together every now and again and play beer pong and stuff like that and I wanted some music to jam to that we all used to listen to.
The band that did Misery is Collective Soul. The band that did Jumper is Third Eye Blind.
Theres probably not too many you guy's can come up with that i probably don't already have because I just downloaded about 50 songs from the 90's. Just wanted to see if I missed any. I know there are song's i'm forgetting.

I've been to that site as well. I didn't feel like going through all the pages.

Pixies. I never heard this band, until last summer. Not sure about the years they played, but my good buddy who introduced me to this band, told me they were a major influence on the sound of the 90's. A little underground, but they rock, in their own way.
"They had it before you, They had it during you, They"ll have it after you're gone." Al McGuire on Kentucky basketball tradition.

Try this website: www.pandora.comYou just type in the artist or song and it plays songs that are similar to it. Pretty cool way to find out new songs.

The two popular ones by Hole back in the day weren't bad - Doll Parts and Take Everything (?).
From Silverchair, I was a big fan of Year 2000.
Listen to any GWAR? "The Road Behind" amongst many others is a good tune.

Candlebox had some hits too. Ya ever play the drinking game to "You?" Take a swig of beer every time they say "you" - it's like 2 beers in 5 minutes.

Used to work at The Odeon for years and got to see a lot of 90's bands that weren't so popular anymore.
Favorite would have to be Alice in Chains. But also saw Semisonic, 311, Everclear, 7 Mary Three, Cracker--funny story, Cracker was pretty much a one hit wonder with their song "Low," and when they played thats the song everyone in attendance wanted to hear, everyone except the band. They actually avoided it the whole show, and had to be coaxed into playing it by the crowd---all while the band was making comments like, "I'm so sick of this F'in Song."
Also saw Days of New, Buckcherry, Lit, Puddle of Mudd, The Cramps, KMFDM, They Might be Giants, Reel Big Fish, Soul Coughing, CLUTCH, Henry Rollins, Blondie, Bloodhound Gang--only show I saw someone do a whole bottle of Jager through a beer bong--Insanity, Third Eye Blind, Our Lady Peace, Midnight Oil, The Tragically Hip, The Eels, Everlast, Local H, G. Love & special sauce, and too many other to remember, worked at every show from 2000- until venue closed up in March of 2006.
Had some great times, met a lot of cool people, have too many stories to tell.

The 90's were awesome for music. Most of my music collection (er, rather, CD collection) is from the 90's. Mostly underground stuff with some mainstream tossed in for good measure. Some of my 90's faves...
Green Day L7 Squirtgun Pansy Division Lunachicks 7 Year B!tch Stone Temple Pilots The Hi-Fives The Donnas Prodigy Hole Nirvana Fluffy Rancid Pinhead Gunpowder Offspring

What was Henry Rollins like? I wasn't a big fan of The Rollins Band, but his Spoken Word performances were incredible, the guy can go on for hours about all the stuff he's seen and done. Seriously, very, very entertaining. If you ever get the chance to see him do spoken word--go for it. He talks about his life in the music industry, getting older, current events, places he's been, people he's hung out with--all very cool. And as a person, Rollins comes off as just a really down-to-earth guy. Really a nice guy. We had an unofficial list of people that were really cool when they performed and he was at the very top. Next were Mike Doughty from Soul Coughing, and Art Alexakis from Everclear. All three were always really cordial, would always stay after the show and do signings and meet and greets. And were just generally really nice. They didn't have that whole, "I'm a rock star, who the F are you mentality." Another guy who I met and was shocked that he was really a nice guy---Jim Norton. His comic routines are always really crude and offensive, but in person he's a really nice guy.
