Hey I just wondered if anyone else watched golf and perhaps I could make a thread for the US Open, just in time for the final day on Sunday. What compelled me to post this was Tiger's performance today on the back nine, it was seriously unbelievable. He had 2 eagles, 1 birdie, and more all with this bum knee. Whether its golf or any sport you've got to admire a guy giving it his all with injuries and pulling out all stops no matter what the pain may be. It had to be one of the greatest single handed performances I've seen in awhile and I was just wondering if anyone had witnessed the great third round of the US Open today because it was simply indescribable. Anyone else love watching golf at night for a change??? Let's just hope and pray his knee can hold up and he can gut it out in the final round, afterall he is 13-0 when starting with the lead in the 4th round...

I am in the process of moving so I have not been able to watch too much but I have been looking in when I can. What else can be said about Tiger, hes the best out there, even on a bum knee. If you cant say it already, give him a few more majors and he is solidly cemented as the best ever.

The two eagle putts and the chip in were three of his greatest shots....and that's quite an accomplishment considering some of the things he's done throughout his career.
I'll definitely be watching the final round. Should be interesting. He's never lost after leading by the 3rd round, but that knee of his should level the playing field.

I think the knee is just fine, his earry struggles can e attributed to a little bit of rust IMO. Once he got a few rounds in he got back to beinghis old self.

Did you see that knee buckle after some of his shots? I don't think it's fine.

You said you didn't see it, so you didn't see him grimace and grab at his knee after every shot.
Like urbrowns said, his knee buckled a couple times. He was all over the place off the tee, but his short game is what saved the day, or he'd be in big trouble.
His knee is not ok. But mental toughness couldn't be stronger!

Yeah Ndutyme, that knee aint nowhere close to even 80%. I have been around the game for a awhile, and to me, that knee looks maybe a little better than 50% at this point of the tournament. People need to remember going into Sunday he has walked 18 holes for 3 straight days. He had NOT walked 18 holes AT ALL since the surgery coming into this.
That knee is prolly sore as hell this morning. With that being said, this will do more to CEMENT an already incredible LEGACY...
I heart winning

I wonder if he can do any further damage to the knee by golfing.

They still don't quite compare with the chip at the Masters a few years ago, but they were all amazing shots...

No doubt, that will always be number 1, as the most amazing shot these eyes have ever seen. I'm not a huge golf fan, I did watch a little before Tiger came on the scene, so I was familiar with a lot of golfers already on the tour...nothing I've ever watched has come close to that chip at the Master's

Tiger just showed why is the most unstoppable athlete on the planet. Won't be surprised if he wins going away tomorrow. Not sure Mediate will recover from being that close only to see Tiger get up and down from the weed patch.

I think Rocco is gonna have to trip and fall on Tiger's knee in order to win on Monday. Tiger hits it a mile and Rocco hits it only a little further than we do.
Would love to see (hear) Rocco win.

You whipper snappers don't remember Larry Mize's chip in at the Masters to beat Norman... or Tom Watson's chip in at the Open to beat Nicklaus... or Hogan's 1-iron... ok, I'm really showing my age now.
As Mediate said, he expected Tiger to make it... that's the number 1 rule of golf, ALWAYS expect your opponent to make a good shot (of course that's more of a match play rule but this was essentially match play at that point)...
Mediate will be fine, Tiger has to avoid the +2 or 3 start tomorrow, he can't keep recovering from those... or maybe he can.

You are right, I havent been able to really atch, just been to busy getting moved. I saw little of the opening round and he looked rusty but not in pain. If he want in pain he would probably have won by 5

If you want to go back..... Unquestionably the best shot in the history of golf: The Shot Heard Round the World. It was Gene "The Squire" Sarazen at the Masters...a double eagle 2 on the 15th hole on Sunday to gain a share of the lead. He went on to win a 36 hole playoff and it gave the Masters as a tournment the boost it needed to truely consider itself the 4th major. It's not close....but that Woods shot will live forever in my memory. I actually met Gene almost 20 years ago now and hit balls with him in Marco Island, Florida. Here's one of many, many accounts of this amazing shot for those that don't know it. Unbelievable! http://www.thegolfchannel.com/core.aspx?page=19039&select=1757

Extremely annoying.. What do you think is more annoying: "GET IN THE HOLE!" guy when a guy is driving on anything but a Par 3 or "Cell Phone Guy" behind home plate??
I go with Cell Phone Guy, but it's close..

I have to go with Cell Phone Guy too. I do think that both jerks should get tossed from each event as soon as they starts such behavior. They really annoy me.

Why cell phone guy? Cell phone guy just wants to say hi to his friends who see him on TV.
Get in the hole is a breach of golf etiquette.

What annoys me more about Cell Phone Guy is that....the same guy does his waving routine every pitch of every inning. And I have to see his antics if I want to watch the game, I have no choice.
The Get In The Hole Guy is like 20-30 guys in each gallery. One guy does it from the 5th tee, his buddy calls out the iron shot and some other dude has the green. And it's not just for Tiger, they do it for the other favorite golfers. It's harder to pinpoint the culprit. And some telecasts don't always have a boom mic to pick up each yell....

No, it would be if he yelled it BEFORE or DURING the shot.. but afterward is fine.
And I will state, for the record, that I am glad "Get in the hole" guy has replaced "You da man" guy... he was even MORE annoying.
