I can't be mad if Rocco wins....he 100% earned it. Not too many people go toe-to-toe with Tiger Woods in stroke play and essentially "match play" in the same tournament and WIN.
Too bad I can't watch this live....though my heart would be beating a helluva lot faster.
EDIT - Tiger on the green in 2 / Rocco on the green in 3. I hope they both 2-putt and then we get more OT!

Yup, I'm with you Punch. I like Tiger a lot, but Rocco has certainly earned it if he ends up winning. What a great match overall.

Rocco has to make this putt to win the Open. Woods missed his eagle putt, but left it close enough to put it in easily for a four.
And Rocco missed it. If Tiger hits this, we're going to a second playoff!

Tiger made his birdie. Rocco's only about three feet out, biggest three feet of his life. EDIT: And Rocco makes it. 90 holes, still no U.S. Open champion. One hole left.

Now is the sudden death just that? Do they just go hole by hole and the person who wins the hole wins it all?

I would NOT want to be standing over that put. I would puke on my golf shoes before I could bring the club back.

What hole do they start with? I know Tiger doesn't want to play #1 again.

yup, they are starting at the 7th, then to X and then to Y, if they tie all three, they do it again. As soon as one wins a hole, it's over.

No worries, sorry you aren't able to watch. Rocco had a bad second shot, near the grandstands, maybe on the cartpath. Tiger's second shot is about 15-18 feet from the pin.

Tiger's 2nd is on the green, below the hole.. .about 15' for birdie.
Rocco will likely have to drop in the Drop Zone to hit his 3rd.

Yeah, but this is when a deranged fan in a car comes out and hits Tiger and the grandstand.

Yeah, but he'll just bounce his shot off the windshield of the car, roll it down a pipe, back onto another pipe and into the hole... all on his bad leg

Rocco took a drop, he's now about 20 feet from the pin.
EDIT: Tiger's shot to win... Less than half a foot short. Rocco has to make his shot to force another sudden death.

Tiger wins the U.S. Open. Heck of a showing by both players. Congrats to Tiger for his 14th Championship, and to Rocco for a great and competitive 91 holes!

Hell yeah... there isn't any shame to be had on Rocco's part at all. That man played one helluva tournament.
Tiger Woods gets #14 He is the first player to record 7 PGA Tour wins on the same course. Is the first player to win on the same course twice in the same year more than once in a career.

Well, I suppose I have to eat crow now. I thought FOR SURE this was Rocco's day or Tiger's non-day (knee-related).
Even though Tiger won, he came dang close to gagging. He gave up a 3-stroke lead on the back nine in the playoff and then dropped to 1 back (that's a 4 stroke change in 5 holes!). Tiger's play on the 18th saved his butt!

Tiger hater. Great tournament all the way around... I have to wonder though as Tiger nearly made that putt on the first hole of sudden death... and dropped to his knees.... is his knee still sore? That's not something I'd do to an aching surgically repaired knee..

You guys were killin me.. I'm finally back at the house eating a quick dinner before another job and reading.. this was suspenseful enough. I'd have had a stroke watching this live.. I was rooting Rocco, but it sounds like it was a classic match by both players.
