in the last 20-30 years who was the last "conservative democrat" presidential candidate?
Bill Clinton.
And both parties are full of crap.

I am a registered Dem. I would consider myself a "moderately liberal republican" if there is such a thing? I guess I am a " fence sitter" and whoever makes the most sense gets my vote, regardless of which party they belong to.
So you were unable to tally a vote in this poll as well?

I remember when I first registered to vote. A lady at the library asked me which pary I was declaring. I got offended and told her it was none of here buisness. heheh

I'd say I'm a Democratic Republican, call me an Americrat.
I'm a moderate and have registered as both Republican and Democrat depending on which primary I wanted to vote in. As far as social issues I tend to favor Democrats. As far as government I lean towards the Republican philosophy. But overall I have tended to lean towards Republican.
This year I'll vote McCain, I've always liked the guy and swore if he ever ran he'd get my vote. But I like Obama as well. Unlike 2004 (the south park episode hit the nail on the head with the choices that year) I'll be satisfied with whoever wins. In fact I think McCain was the only Republican I would have voted for over Obama.
Another reason is I agree with Pit on the congress party issue. When you have one party in control of both the executive and legislative branches, history tends to show unfavorable results. With opposing parties they are able to keep one another in check. It looks like Democrats will have control. McCain has a history of reaching across the aisle so I see no potential harm in his leadership working with the opposing party. I am a bit worried about Obama's proposed spending, and with his party in control they will surely be passed.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

That pride must be going to your head. How many insults do you have to shoot before you get banned already? Libtard? Shows your intelligence right there. You must be smarter than anyone who's a Democrat; it's obvious with your quality posts.

Why, thank you very much kind sir. What's really funny about politics is a conservative can't say anything without getting busted for it, but if a liberal (is that better?) says the same thing word for word, they get what's called a free pass. The Clintons, John Kerry, Pelosi, that loon Cindy Sheehan, and now Obama can all testify to that.

We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

I said Republican because I usually vote that way, but I would be a independent republican. I do switch hit and don't agree with everything the Republicans push.

As many of you know, and I've said many times, I don't vote. I was raised in a family that is like 80% registered Republican. But anymore they are all disillusioned with the whole thing.
My parents, and a few of their brothers and sisters have stopped going to the ballot box. My brother and I don't vote. And even my Grandfather, the one who landed at Normandy has said that there is no use in voting anymore--he doesn't believe any of these candidates are worth his vote.
My old man and his buddy used to talk politics a lot, talking about who they liked, who they were going to vote for. Now they just assume not vote at all because of how ridiculous the whole political machine is here in America.
I wish to wash my Irish wristwatch......

Oh, please. If he were to have implied that republicans are "retarded", you would have gone after him. So don't even.

i refuse to affliate myself with a party, as anything other than the big two is a waste of time, the Democrats are gutless bleeding hearts that waste money, and the Republicans are war-mongering morons who waste lives. what's worse about the Democrats is that if you don't agree with them, you're heartless. and what's worse about Republicans is if you say anything contrary to what they're saying, it like you just ripped on their mommy, and they get all pissy with you and call you a hippie. i have a lot of foreign friends, and i often travel abroad. these parties and their respective zealots make me a little embarrassed to be an American sometimes. the last Democratic idiot president shamed us by not being able to keep it in his pants, and the current Repulican idiot president has more teeth than IQ points. he makes Emmitt Smith look like a genius. what ever happened to common sense? talk about a lose/lose situation. voting anymore is a choice between the lesser of two evils. if i had to choose between the two parties, i'd bite down on the cianide pill placed ever so delicately in my right cheek.
