I basically agree with you... but I don't see where making it a big deal solves anything... we've been down this road sooooo many times with different people on different issues... Somebody makes a stupid racial or bigoted statement, their comment ends up getting 100x more air play, maybe they get fired, maybe not... they issue the obligatory, "It was taken out of context and I'm so sorry" line... The people don't think it's sincere, they only think the person is trying to save their own butt..... The whole thing from start to finish just seems so scripted.

You make some very valid points, but I find it ironic ESPN can't stop talking about it, but yet pacman is a bigger punk then Imus, was and there making Jones sound like he's a saint.
I would like to see a poll on how many African Americans listen to his show. I would say the numbers would be low since it's not geared towards that specific audience.

Everything you say actually has far more to do with economic class than race. Poor people are way more likely to steal and use weapons to do so. They're more likely to join gangs.

Actually I can believe it, Imus doesn't really follow sports other then Nascar, and thats only because his brother who is a regular on his show is a huge fan. In general he is cluelss about sports, hell Terry Bradshaw is another regular on his show, and Imus had no idea he even played in a Super Bowl. His show isn't sports based, it's political. His spare time is mostly spent doing charity for the Imus Ranch, and SIDS.

Not that I care either way since both are crimes, but one leaves a much more traumatic emotional scar, and puts your life at risk during the crime.
Would you prefer someone steals your car from the parking lot, or carjacks you at gunpoint at an intersection?

Really ? I would be interested to see some type of proof of your belief. I watch the news often here in Columbus and every day there is violence(mostly with guns) involving black individuals and usually more than one instance. I hardly hear about any whites from the trailer parks involved in violent crimes on a daily basis.
