I think that's how everyone should judge their location. Interesting that you live so close to me. I never thought that'd happen on here. It is proabably even closer than that. I live very close to the lake.

Sin City ... there is life outside of the Strip...

'Peen, I did some consulting work for TVA in Chattanooga for several years in the early 2000s. I really liked the area. I grew up in GA, went to college in Atlanta so I'm familiar with the south. If I were to ever move back, I would consider Chattanooga.

After living in Nevada, I could only consider states with no state income tax from here on out. It's nice to put that money back in my pocket.

Cool man.

We love it here. I am retired now, and we have talked about moving to the house in Fla., but in the end, Chattanooga is home. I don't think we will leave anytime soon. It is a good mid sized city that has made many improvements over the past 20 years.

Houston Texas... across the street from the Texans

I've lived in Boston, Houston, and Cleveland... Cleveland (Berea) was by far my favorite.

Been in Chicago for 8 years now (lived in Medina/Brunswick/Hinckley prior).

As a Chicago Bears season ticket holder*, I get to see the Browns twice in Chicago next year (and once here every other year). Not a bad deal.

*I put my name on the list 5 years ago. I just got my invoice 3 weeks ago. I'm pumped for all the tailgating and games (even though I'll be watching the scoreboard for Browns scores more than the Bears). And don't worry, I wear my Browns jersey to every game no matter what.

that could only be a little awkward.. "Hey buddy... the Browns aren't here this week.. The bears are playing the vikings!"

Oh, no doubt! That happens 15-20 times a game. And then I say, "I know who's playing today. I'm here rooting for the Bears but that doesn't change my loyalty for the Browns." Most of the people understand and tell me they were just busting my chops. A very few get mad or mean about it.

When I was at the NFC Championship game, some Steeler fan stopped me, unzipped his coat to show me his Ward jersey and then said something about how the Browns suck. I replied, "at least I'm not afraid to show off my colors like you."

I think it's kind of cool to move to a new city and get season tickets to that city's professional teams. It's fun going to the games and stuff.

But I can certainly see it way more for basketball or baseball. It seems to me you are trading watching the Browns on TV every week whether it be DirectTV, bar, whatever, to go watch a team that you're not a fan of.

Live or not, that's a trade I would never make.

It isn't impossible to root for another team after living in the city for a while.

That doesn't mean you still don't like your team.

The simple fact is you can't see them as often.

But this is coming from a guy who has 2 sets of football season tickets...one is in Gainesville, about 425 miles away, and one in Cleveland, about 625 miles away.

I just can't get there. I don't believe in rooting for another team, and I don't believe in having '2nd favorite' teams.

But it's a personal thing. To each their own. I don't think any less that does believe in those things, but I guess that's just not me.

Well, the Browns do hit the TV around here a lot. And when that happens, I DVR them.

And even if I'm at all the Bears home games, there are still 8 other away games I can go to the bars to see my Browns.

And I can't get Directv with my condo facing north. Sucks.

Believe it or not, before I move into any place, I always make sure I can get the DirecTV facing the direction it needs. If not, I won't move in. Did the same thing before I bought my house a couple of years ago. I had looked at some 25 or so houses, and the one I ended up buying was ranked #1 on my list. But I didn't make the purchase until I checked into the DirecTV thing. It's a sickness...I know.

That's true about the 8 away games. I don't know, it would just feel weird to me, though. I think it's cool that you got the season tickets, but I just don't think I could enjoy myself knowing that my childhood team is playing in the bar just down the street.

Just don't convert...!!!

...Or you can go to one or two of those away games...experience it first hand. Start checking into Chicago to Nashville or Washington right now and your first beer is on me if I see you there.

Otherwise Beerdowner will be tearing up Chi-town in a mere 4 days, some place in Lincoln Park on Thursday, then Wrigleyville Friday, downtown on Saturday. Gonna be a mess.

Jeez my choices were the West or some other country!! Alaska counts too! lol.

Thing that sucks the worst (beyond only being able to actually go to maybe one game a year) is getting up at 8am to go to a bar.

Indiana.....right smack between Cincitucky and Indy....49 mins to Paul Brown Stadium and an hour and 10 minutes to Lucas Oil Stadium. Believe it or not there are a lot of Browns fans where I live, and we get plenty of Browns games a year with the Cincy TV stations. Especially this year with all the primetime games .

I'm surprised to hear that. I would have thought with living in Indy and the Colts being sold out each week CBS would show most all the Indianapolis games. Yep there are a few Browns fans as well as Bears fans in the state of Indiana for sure.

What brings you to my little city? If you need any ideas on places to eat, drink or eat and drink, I'll offer my services.

If you take one of those fancy boat rides along the Chicago River, look for my Browns flag waving in the wind near the Chicago Ave bridge.

Actually we see even less Colts games than Browns games, the Cincy stations never show them. Which is fine with me of course.

Buddies and I need some R&R. My sister also lives in the city, figured I'd see her place.

If you're up for coming into the city, I imagine Thursday night being pretty laid back, just my buddy and sister maybe having some drinks at Pippins Tavern, then heading to Giordano's for some pizza.

Friday is another animal unto itself...

If I'm not too hungover from Thurs, I'll do a little run in the morning on Friday, but have strict orders to be on the red line and at Wrigley Field by 10am. From there my other 2 buds will meet up and we do the Murphy's - wait-in-line-for-bleachers-to-open-switcharoo for two hours or whatever it is until that mad dash to get to left field begins. Might heckle Omar a bit (in a good way) from the bleachers while drinking Old Style after Old Style, and eventually watch the game. That will probably take me to Cubby Bear afterwards for more drinking. If/when I get back downtown...a gameplan will be created.

Loose plans for Saturday are weather pending...if it's sunny, we go early to that "ship" looking place overlooking the northern beach and slobber over hot Chicago chicks. If it rains, we find a bar and watch the Gladiators vs. Soul and drink our faces off at 1pm. It would be great to meet you for that
