Surprised that this wasn't already on the board...
Huge huge announcement, about the biggest thing that Microsoft could have announced besides MGS4 to go to 360 or Halo 4.
Kick in the nuts to PS3 owners pretty much.

I haven't played or owned a RPG since Super Nintendo, so I could care less. I do know that is a huge franchise for the Playstation, and is seen as a disappointment.

ah, a fairly stagnant series I think. Its last few have been pretty bad from what I'm told. A series still trying to live up to its PSone titles. I always found the turn based system really boring, instead I love action RPGs like Oblivion and Mass Effect.
"I only had a couple of weeks to train, but I'm glad it happened because it gave me a chance to be a Browns player," Bell said.

Wow, really really shocked by this one, never in a million years did I think a FF title would be played on anything excpet a Sony console. Well, that's one more for the money grubbing monopoly we call Microsoft. Screw Gates and that greedy as hell Peter Moore...

I really don't see how it's a kick in the nuts to PS3 owners. Last time I checked I will be able to buy it for my PS3 and the game is being made on the PS3 first and then ported to the 360.
Square-Enix is not owned by Sony and they have invested a lot of time and money in making the White Engine. It only makes sense that they want to recoup the money on their investment and if Microsoft is going to pay them a large sum of money and the potencial of more customers why in the world would they not want to do it?
I'm just hoping this one will be better than, IX, X, X-2 and XII. I have not truly enjoyed a Final Fantasy since VIII. (Besides XI but that's an MMO and it doesn't count, I'm talking about the JRPG FF's)

I truthfully was not suprised by this anoucement. SE has spent a lot of money on the white engine. It's only business, and SE is doing what they feel is right for their company.

I could go into great detail and many reasons on why it is, but ill give u a great example.
Lets say 360 fans are excited about a new Halo 4 project coming to the 360, after a year or 2 theyre still pumped and talking about how good this EXCLUSIVE title in which they own a 360 is going to be... Then it is announced that Halo 4 is coming to the PS3 as well... Same exact concept.

You said it's a kick in the nuts to PS3 Owners. But they will still be able to play the game. And it's being made on the PS3 first and then ported to the 360.
A kick in the nuts to PS owners is Ninja Gaiden II. They get to play Ninja Gaiden Sigma but don't get to play the sequel.
I don't get into the whole Fanboy talk, I think having FF on the 360 benifits us all because the more money Square gets the more money they will have to make the next one. (also I'm hoping for a new FF MMO) IDC what games the 360 gets as long as I get to play them as well.

What would be your reaction if Metal Gear Solid 4 got ported to the 360?
Also, why is it that many other PS3 owners are pissed that XBOX got this title as well, and why is it that many 360 owners are laughing at Sony because of this?

I'm a fan of games, not consoles. So the more people to buy FF13 means the more money Square-Enix gets to make FF14.

One of the reasons I got a PS3 was because of FF13 as well. My three favorite franchises are FF, Socom and MGS. I also like resident evil and GTA.
I would be a little upset if FF was now a 360 exclusive. It's not. It's still coming to the PS3. If any PS3 owner is mad because they bought a PS3 for FF, then IMO they aren't true fans of FF. True fans would want Square-Enix to make as much money as they can so they can make FF14, Kingdom Hearts 3, the next Crono Sequel and thier new MMO code named "Rapture".
FF13 is going to sell more copies than 12, and with the money MS gave Square-Enix, the extra copies that will now be sold on the 360, I wouldn't be surprised if FF13 sells more copies than FF7.
This is going to offset the money they spent making the Crystal Tools (aka White Engine) that is being used on FF13, FF13vs and "Rapture".
Look up Crystal Tools WB, and you will understand that FF13 going multiplatform is the best news for all FF fans.

Im not mad about Final Fantasy going to the 360 really.... I just am a little annoyed that Sony let a big exclusive title get away from them considering I have been supporting Sony for quite a while...
I own all the systems so its not really a big deal to me, I just was like what the hell considering I always support Sony and tend to think its better than the 360... but Its hard to support that when they let FF13 exclusivity fall out of their grasp...
Really no big deal though, it made me make my mind up on purchasing another xbox 360 (only $170) and I will get plenty of RPG's that are coming out on it, not to mention ill finally get to finish playing Lost Odyssey which IMO was highly underrated.

I have never understood the support of exclusives...I think they are stupid. All exclusives do is not let people enjoy the artwork, story, hardwork...etc that everyone should be able to. In the end all exclusives do is hurt the developer because it means less people can buy your game. I honestly don't think exclusives should exist..
Someone please champion the cause of not letting people enjoy games because of what system they selected....Its like one side of the street getting working bathrooms and the other side the street getting outhouses. Everyone deserves the right to play and enjoy which games they want. In fact the only people who should be in favor of exclusives are those either blind or a stockholder/employee of Sony or Microsoft.....Which are you?

Lost Odyssey did look good from the ads that I saw. That was one game I was going to get but my brother came back home and took his 360 back.
I'll eventually get one, just can't afford another system at the moment, not to mention I really don't have much time to play my PS3 right now.

Yeah Kefka was always underrated as a villain and there were so many sweet characters in 6...
I remember beating 6 with Shadow/Edgar/Sabin/Mog and I loved it.
FF7 was the first time I played through an rpg, and ive played it a load of times probably wayyyyy too much but I love the game.

If that's the case, you may as well throw out 2 of the consoles and just have one. No sense of making a console to compete if you can all their games on another system that's out.
Exclusives are one of the things that set apart consoles. They are also used to gain support for the consoles. MGS4 just caused the number of PS3's bought in June to double from May's stats.
