these directions are awful, they assume you've played this game before

what does using the analog stick during hitting do? do you aim where you think the ball is going to end up, or where you want to try and hit to?

also, how often should you use the power swing? and is the regular swing just a contact swing?

I was having the same problem... I've never played this series before so I was totally lost.... took me forever just to learn how I was suppose to pitch the dumb thing...

The only thing the analog stick is used for is to guess the pitch before the pitch is thrown. You hit R2 and push the analog where you think the pitch will go. Power swing is Square. But you can only use power swing and pitch location on levels Veteran and above.

i think it depends on your settings.. i play were you can guess the pitch (when i guess correctly i use the power swing) and also have that 'yellow oval thing'.. i'm pretty sure that that is where you think the pitch is going to end up.. i believe its 'where your eyes are looking'... check out this link, and read the stuff from raider1one, it helped me.. http://www.postgamepub.com/sports-gaming...d-fielding.html

once i started doing road to the show, i started guessing both the pitch and location, and have had better luck, although i am doing it against AA competition...
