So I've been on a movie kick lately and am looking for some good movies.
Watched Crash the other night and it was amazing.
So what are some of your favorite movies?

Anyone who hasn't seen The Departed or Goodfellas needs to do so now. Masterful story combined with good action a a decent amount of cat and mouse drama *espically in The Departed*.
you had a good run Hank.

I still maintain Castaway is the greatest underappreciated movie ever. Hanks should have won the oscar that year.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

I can think of lots of good movies, but right off the bat, these are some that I consider PERFECT.
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Dirty Dozen
Jaws
Caddyshack
Die Hard
Goodfellas

I'm guessing the only way you saw that movie was part of a high school class.
I have very shallow tastes in movies. I don't care for most movies that win awards for things like "Best Picture".
some of my favorites....
Better off Dead Grosse Pointe Blank Transformers The One The whole Bourne series Serenity The Punisher
Plus a ton of romantic comedies my wife thinks she is forcing me to watch.

I'm a fan of mostly older movies.
General Flicks Gone with the Wind 12 Angry Men The Wizard of Oz
Marilyn Monroe Movies Some Like it Hot Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Bus Stop Niagra (a great dramatic turn for Marilyn Monroe)
Bing Crosby Movies White Christmas (I do love a good cheesy musical and Bing Crosby's voice is fantastic) Holiday Inn (another Bing flick, it's actually the first place the song White Christmas was ever heard. Irving Berlin wrote it for this movie) High Society (Bing and Frank Sinatra...a crooner-lovers delight)
Cary Grant Movies North by Northwest The Bishop's Wife The Philadelphia Story That Touch of Mink
Katharine Hepburn Movies The Philadelphia Story Woman of the Year The African Queen Guess Who's Coming to Dinner On Golden Pond
Audrey Hepburn Sabrina Breakfast at Tiffany's Roman Holiday Paris-When It Sizzles
Humphrey Bogart Movies Casablanca The African Queen The Maltese Falcon
More Modern Movies Love Actually
Tom Hanks Movies Forrest Gump Apollo 13 Philadelphia Big and his finest work...Bosom Buddies (ok, not a movie...LOL)
Bruce Willis Movies Pulp Fiction Die Hard (1&2) Armageddon
Race Flicks LeMans Grand Prix
Chick Flicks Legally Blonde Pretty Woman
Susan Sarandon Movies Bull Durham Shall We Dance Stepmom
Sandra Bullock Movies Miss Congeniality Speed Demolition Man A Time to Kill
Animated Shrek
Disney Little Mermaid Lion King Aladdin Snow White (not modern, but classic) Cinderella (same with this one)
Disney-Pixar Find Nemo Cars A Bugs Life Toy Story Monster's Inc.

I can't believe I forgot Star Wars on my list! And, of course, it's companion: Spaceballs.

I agree with bigbaddawg on the Departed. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
I also really liked 310 to Yuma with Russell Crowe. He plays a villian, but by the end of the movie you can't help but like the guy. He should have been nominated for an Oscar for this part imo.
A really funny movie I liked was Hot Rod. This kid does stunts on his "hot rod" trying to raise money for this step-fathers surgery. He wants to keep him alive so he can kick his ass. lol
My favorite old stand by is Fight Club. I've seen this movie at least 20 times.

I'll have to see if it'll be on TV soon. If not, I'll head to the library and rent it from there. If I really like it, I'll buy it.
