Besides, she was so drunk and stupid that her throws were hitting way more Browns fan than her intended target anyway. Someone got nailed in the eye with one of them.

Oh no worries, I am much more accurate. I guess I will be seeing this girl up close pretty soon. I didnt go last night, I will ask my neighbors if they saw her.

My whole problem with this is that everything is going to be left up to an usher/security guard, etc, etc. Some of those people are just not very bright.

At last nights pre-season opener a young guy sitting in front of me apparently went through the wrong door going exiting the legends bar behind the lower pound. After sitting there since the 1999 comeback, I know how anal security is about this. The guard came out of the bar and chased down the kid so he could yell at him. The kid hasn't sat there before and just didn't know and didn't see the small sign they have for which door to use. It was crazy. Like it was Jr. High or something.

After seeing beer is now $7 for little cup, I won't have to worry about even getting a slight buzz there. We did the math during the rain delay that the stadium is making around $1,400 per keg!!

On the other hand I actually had friggin squeeler fan try to pick a fight with me in or stadium once (The old stadium no less) and nobody did squat about that except stare. That was aggravating because I didn't take the bait to get kicked out...but you really want to do something back. But the cost to get in is too high for me to just pitch it out the window.

And that's the stuff that needs to be taken care of no matter who's doing it. It can ruin a game to have some obnoxious drunk who will not leave a fan from another team alone, getting in their faces, swearing at them non-stop. I've seen it and it's almost always had to have been stopped by other Browns fans who got sick of watching it go on.

Amen to that! I watched some drunk biotch throw peanut shells at a Steelers fan for no other reason than she was a Steelers fan. Mind you, she was TRYING to whip these shells across a whole section to hit this other girl. It pissed me off. I yelled "knock it off"...she told me to "f off". I waited a few minutes to see if she'd stop, she did not. Then I went to the ladies room (what can I say, I was preggers at the time) and talked to one of the security people and said "keep an eye on that woman, she's drunk, beligerent and throwing things at Steelers fans". She was tossed about 20 minutes later. They wanted to catch her throwing things. I guess some other fans complained about her but didn't know where the peanuts were being thrown from. That particular woman is almost always sloppy, drunk at games.

Sure, the chick was a Steelers fan, but no one should be throwing things at them. Assault??? Really??? Are you THAT immature, drunk???? Grow up, drink less or go the hell home.

I think it was $6.50 last year.

$6.50-$7.00....no real big difference to me...You order up 3 of the things you are out $1.50 extra....it's not like that buys you anything in the stadium anyhow.

I don't think beer has ever been priced at sporting events comparable to a place you would belly up and drink 4-5 beers.

I would say the average beer drinker at a Browns game drinks 3 brews a game tops. Two by halftime and 1 in the second half.

$6.75 past couple of years. $7 this year. We are still lower than many stadiums.

I think its actually Aramark making majority of that money. I could be wrong, but I think they run concessions at CBS.

You're right Peen, I should have been more specific in my original post 3 days ago, sorry about that, of course I don't act like a jerk in public, The fact that we need rules of conduct is disappointing to me, I know these rules are in place to protect all involved (even the morans that act up) call me a dinosaur, I believe people should own up to the responsibility of thier actions.
p.s. funny you should mention standing up in a theater, about few months ago we took the kids to a movie, my back started its spasam thing so I had to watch the last 20 mins on my feet in the aisle at the back of the theater.

I can say that from what I've seen the vast majority of fans treat opposing team's fans well. I had a great time in Baltimore at the "Dawson Bar" game, the fans were good fans, they razzed us in good fun, but it was fine. We had dog bones thrown at us in the tailgate area, not intended to hurt us, I thought it was funny. Giants stadium got dicey for a moment, but we were actually aided by a group of Giant fans. All the other games we've gone to have been fine. This year we're doing the Washington game. I've heard it can get rough there, we'll see. And when I make it to Philly, I will wear a Browns Jersey.

The only problem with making these specific "laws" or "rules" is that they are all covered by existing rules/lawws/stadium policies. I get a little nervous when they start specifically targeting narrowly defined behaviors. Assault is assault if it's in a football stadium or not, so is public drunkeness.

The thing is, they could pretty much kick you out of the stadium "before" these rules were in place. So why the need for them?

I've seen them escort people out for years when acting in such fashions. I believe as open ended and broad a scope as they are written in, will just allow for "nit picking". We'll see..................

I saw or heard a piece where in Chicago, only ticketed patrons will be able to tailgate in Stadium parking lots.

Mind you stadium lots.....but I guess it is the same here since you need a parking pass to get into the official stadium lots.....but....behavior in those lots can be monitored and one could lose their seats for bad behavoir while tailgating.

Pit....I don't see it as nit-picking. The league senses a trend it wants to reverse...and it should IMO.....but then that is just my opinion and really don't do anything that will threaten my being able to go to games.

I don't get falling down drunk at games, don't insist on standing the whole time, don't cuss much in mixed company, let alone loudly, don't look for opposing fans to harass. I go to the games to cheer my team.....now if they make that illegal, I will have a big problem.

I don't know how it will play out Peen. I just know these rules in extremes have been enforced "before now". So I don't know if they're doing it more as a "written warning" of rules that they are already enforcing anyway, or trying to make the game more "wine and cheese friendly".

I mean acting stupid is one thing. But if it interferes with elation and being a rabid fan, then it's just too PC for me.

I'm in a wait and see mode.

I agree...the rules are nothing new. I think this is a PR effort....or public awareness measure to let people know they will start to enforce those rules a bit more closely then they have in the past.

The fear the NFL has is games are beginning to be viewed as a place you probably shouldn't take your kids...and I know I have seen many comments by fans on here you probably shouldn't take your kid to a game and sit in the pound as an example.

Why should it be like that??

Kids are the NFLs future. We all became fans as kids, and there is no better way to hook a fan then to get them to games.

Nothing is different in so far as the "rules"....only now the league is telling you they will start enforcing them.

The level of tolerance has changed, the rules haven't.

I meant to comment on that comment....I see that a lot....I like wine and cheese

Football isn't solely intended for the beer and pretzel crowd.

On the note of taking the kids, I agree, it would be nice. Some baseball venues are incorporating family sections, that's a fair idea. I don't know how well it would work for football. It's a little too expensive and the weather has a tendancy to be less than accomodating for children.

The PR angle could be valid. As I said, all these issues are addressed in existing laws/policies. But if they want more kids at the games, they should have better ticket options.

And as such, should create an atmosphere that embraces both. That's where I think the jury is still out.

Maybe the league wanted a uniform set of rules across the league so they could clean up bad behavior.

True. It does no good to have one team tossing it's own fans out of stadiums while somewhere else the fans can beat up fans of other teams without sanction.

Maybe.

But remember, they're leaving the "interpritation of those rules" up to each staff member. So I hope everything works out as you seem to indicate.

I didn't indicate anything . I just answered your question as to why the rules were put in place when things were done at CBS to stop such behavior already. Just throwing out a possible answer.

You have to leave it up to someone....I think you are too worried about that...and in most cases I would suspect it would be a few people who observe a person for a while.

Ushers aren't going to start walking up to people kicking them out over minor stuff...one may come up and tell you he has had some complaints about you standing to much and ask you to remain seated for the most part......now, how you respond to the request may play a large role in what happens next.

You say...."Oh....Ok....sorry", one action will result......you say, "I'll stand when I want to" another action will result.

It isn't hard stuff here.

There is already a family section at CBS. I've never sat in it, but probably will in the upcoming years when I start taking my son to a few games per year.
