Anyone see the comments by Chad Johnson saying that he knows several guys that can beat Michael Phelps in the pool, including himself?

The guy says dumber things by the day.

I also felt bad for Alicia Sacramone. I hope she isnt to nervous for the next individual event.

Man, my wife and I watched that last night on Tivo delay ... the interviewer afterwards was a total b%@#h! Every question had the feel of, "How does it feel to FAIL?" and ... "in case you forgot, you choked ... how does that feel?" My wife wanted to punch her in the face. They won the silver medal. They should be proud! Even if she eliminated her huge mistakes, they would of still had silver.

I think after the Olympics, Chad and Phelps should have a 3 mile open water swim in a big lake, with no safety boat.

Anyone watch the first set of the May-Treanor/Walsh volleyball match against Belgium? The United States fended off 5 set points by Belgium to come back and win the first set. Really impressive - can't say I've been glued to a volleyball match as I was during that first set.

What a 200m Back! Go 1-2 for the Americans and a guy who had to do a SWIM OFF to get into the final wins a medal!!! Unreal!!!

Can you imagine that??? Needing to do a swim off - you and one other guy in a race to make the finals and you end up winning a medal.

Yeah, half-hour until Lochte faces Phelps. That will be an interesting matchup.

I expect him to medal, but will be a good race... I can't imagine he being able to beat a 'fresh' Phelps... but you never know.

I hate that NBC has decided to totally screw over everyone on the west side of the country by tape delaying everything by three hours.

This has just been an absolute blast to watch.

The Olympics is about the only time that my sport gets any airtime... and it has been worth the wait.

So many thrills, so many WR's reset, beaten down, smashed.

It feels great

The US is still the home of world-class swimming.
Noone else comes close.

It's the new streamlined full body suits they use. It's basically letting a swimmer wear dolphinskin.

You must have heard wrong... he's taking an extended break to go home for awhile... but he said he is swimming 2012 and that will probably be his last olympics... he doesn't plan on doing all these races in London though.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with all the training he's put in - plus FYI, he began breaking WRs long before these new speedo suits.

I do believe that he was talking about the number of individual WRs that he has set over his career... which I think is 26... he has a few more with relays...

That IMO will be his toughest final against Crocker... I think he'll do it... but I really feel that it will be the closest individual race he'll have

Earlier state media report listed gymnast He's age as 13
Associated Press

BEIJING -- Just nine months before the Beijing Olympics, the Chinese government's news agency, Xinhua, reported that gymnast He Kexin was 13, which would have made her ineligible to be on the team that won a gold medal this week.

He Kexin
A report in China's official Xinhua news agency nine months ago listed gymnast He Kexin as being 13 years old. But she told reporters Wednesday that her real age is 16.

In its report Nov. 3, Xinhua identified He as one of "10 big new stars" who made a splash at China's Cities Games. It gave her age as 13 and reported that she beat Yang Yilin on the uneven bars at those games. In the final, "this little girl" pulled off a difficult release move on the bars known as the Li Na, named for another Chinese gymnast, Xinhua said in the report, which appeared on one of its Web sites, www.hb.xinhuanet.com

The Associated Press found the Xinhua report on the site Thursday morning and saved a copy of the page. Later that afternoon, the Web site was still working but the page was no longer accessible. Sports editors at the state-run news agency would not comment for publication.

If the age reported by Xinhua was correct, that would have meant He was too young to be on the Chinese team that beat the United States on Wednesday and clinched China's first women's team Olympic gold in gymnastics. She is also a favorite for gold in Monday's uneven bars final.

Yang was also on Wednesday's winning team. Questions have also been raised about her age and that of a third team member, Jiang Yuyuan.

Gymnasts have to be 16 during the Olympic year to be eligible for the Games. He's birthday is listed as Jan. 1, 1992.

Chinese authorities insist that all three are old enough to compete. He herself told reporters after Wednesday's final that "my real age is 16. I don't pay any attention to what everyone says."

Zhang Hongliang, an official with China's gymnastics delegation at the Games, said Thursday the differing ages which have appeared in Chinese media reports had not been checked in advance with the gymnastics federation.

"It's definitely a mistake," Zhang said of the Xinhua report, speaking in a telephone interview. "Never has any media outlet called me to check the athletes' ages."

Asked whether the federation had changed their ages to make them eligible, Zhang said: "We are a sports department. How would we have the ability to do that?"

"We already explained this very clearly. There's no need to discuss this thing again."

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has said repeatedly that a passport is the "accepted proof of a gymnast's eligibility," and that He and China's other gymnasts have presented ones that show they are age eligible. The IOC also checked the girls' passports and deemed them valid.

A May 23 story in the China Daily newspaper, the official English-language paper of the Chinese government, said He was 14. The story was later corrected to list her as 16.

"This is not a USAG issue," said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics. "The FIG and the IOC are the proper bodies to handle this."

The indiv all around was fun as hell to watch. Liukin was nails out there and stuck everything she needed to. That floor routine sealed the deal. It was good to get a little revenge after the collapse the other night of the team finals.

Well if they are playing he's in women gymnastics, I think they deserve the Gold then.. I think that would actually give them a disadvantage.. I mean.. Flexibility..
