is anyone else having screen-freeze isues with madden?
it happens almost every other game now.
i talked to my connection at EA and he said they will probably release a patch, a bunch of people apparently have dealt with this
it sucks because there really isn't a point to playing if you know you could lose your game at any time.

Ya know, I'm really starting to get pissed at this patch stuff going around on these games.
If the companies can't get it right hold off on the release date a bit.
it's a nice feature once in a while, but something like that freeze is pretty feakin major and they should have caught it before release.
Not to mention some people hardley ever play these games online and don't want to pay the monthly fee for access- or just plain can't afford it. They are using this cop out far too often in the gaming industry.
GET THE DARN GAME RIGHT BEFORE YOU SHIP IT & I WE SHELL OUT HARD EARNED DOLLARS. (ok off soap box)

Ugh. It won't let me download the new rosters. First the rosters would load nearly all the way and then not finish, and now it says the EA Servers are unavailable. So not cool.

Wow, just when I thought EA sports could not disapoint more...Madden 09 hit the shelves. Classic EA...rob Peter to pay Paul.
1. The QB's all have dead on accuracy, its nothing for QB's to throw into triple coverage.
2. Corners are completely stupid, they dont stay zone coverage and they never go to ball until its caught. After the snap the DB and LB continually drop back.
3. Its impossible to rush the passer, you will not get pressure playing on all-pro +. You can bring 7-8 guys and the CPU picks them up. Rush moves are useless. You can get Osi from the giants against Nat Dorsey and Doresy throws him to the ground.
4. OL chop block everyone.
5. Qb's complete well over 75% of the passes
6. Its way tooo easy to stop the running game.
7. Its too easy to beef up the madden iq rating.
8. Franchise mode is a joke, its too easy to trade and rob other teams. Its not in-depth enough.
9. The presentation is good, Collinsworth is cool, so are the stadiums.
10. the game isnt smooth its jerky and too fast.
11. DL and LB magically get off blocks.
I was robbed EA sports.....this is a great gamefor the casual buddies playing each other or a person that doesnt watch or play football. For the hardcore Football fan looking for a SIMULATION of NFL football this is not the one at all.
The so called "85 new features" are just tweaked old features....I give it a 2 out of 10 when you play the CPU and a 6 out of 10 online and against a human oppoent.
EASports...your garbage! I hope 2K gets back the rights so you have to put some effeort into your game.

I definitely respect your opinion, because as we all know EA has the NFL exclusive right to use players names and number, and can put a game out that doesn't have to be good because there is no competition.
With some of your points I agree with, some I don't. I think the game has liquid smooth gameplay and more. I ACTUALLY like that the QB's can complete more passes just because on previous Madden's the AI QB was an absolute joke.
Speaking of AI, this leads me to the so-called Madden IQ test. This is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. And after playing 5 games and not being able to run the ball at all I switched back my settings to my ever so familiar all-pro and it worked like a charm. I also put the quarter time length at 7 minuted instead of 5, I find this to be the most realistic simulation for accurate stats.
On the blitzing aspect of the game, I agree with you there as well. When that little screen pops up that shows[1 sack, 15 blitzes, 0 int] shows lets the user know how truly ineffective he or she has been. But overall this years edition of Madden 09 is the best one so far on the next gen systems and is not that bad,JMO.

How many times did the Cowboys blitz, and how many sacks did they have?
I think anyone would want to have like 5 sacks each game, but i think its pretty realistic.

Your right, last years Madden the QB's were completely stupid and the corners were ridiculously good.
Now instead of fixing it, EA just switched it, now every QB on the game is Tom Brady and every corner is Corey Fuller.
Parts of the game are great, but its too many massive AI glitches that ruin the game. On allpro, parts of the game are way too hard and others are waaayyyy to easy.
The PS2 version is great, but the next gen is just not a very good game, better than before, but thats saying very very little.

Those make no difference, the gaps in the gameplay are always there. Those AI sliders have never made any difference in the game, they only make the CPU AI dumber, it doesnt fix the AI problems.

I have hardly any complaints about the Wii version. I love the game and enjoy playing it a lot.
Perhaps I am just not as picky as some. I guess I don't know football inside and out and know what every player should be doing on every single play. I just know what I want my player that I am controlling to do. If a CB gets beat because the QB is great and the CB is stupid, well guess I just gave up a big play and I go after them the next play.
To each their own.
Signing Steinbach - $49.5 million Signing Lewis - $5 million Drafting Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn - millions more Restoring the Browns to champions - priceless.
