So I just waited in line for 29 hours and got myself a PS3 to sell on ebay. Want to hear something crazy? The Wal Mart I got it at got 110 60 gigs, and 58 20 gigs because of the fact that it was considered an official Sony launch location meaning we had a gigantic Sony truck. Just like my pic of the 4 XBox 360's that I had earlier, I will have pics of our 3 PS3's hopefully by tomorrow . CHA CHING

I have good news to report now After selling my PS3 on eBay, I now have the funds to purchase a Xbox 360 for myself. No longer mooching off of my roommates system. It's funny though, I own games for a system that I previously did not own. Anyways, twas the perfect time to buy, right before Black Friday. I got my system on Dell's website with free shipping and $60 off. It basically gives me the deal of buying the system and getting a free game (which several places are offering this Friday) without actually having to fight the crowds.

I got 1,600 but prices look like they have dropped a lot. 3 hours before mine ended, they were bringing in over 2k, they were averaging 1.5k when mine went so I got lucky but I think they are down to 1.1k-ish now

what gig were those ps3's
i'm guessing the 60 gigs?
i got real lucky this morning as i scored a wii for my kids for Christmas, and a 20 ps3
it looks like the 20 gig ones are going anywhere between 800 - 1000 on ebay....i think thats where mine is going, as i'm starting to get bad ideas... (as in i haven't seen ricky bobby yet, and i have an hd tv)

Just saw at gamestop.com they had the 20G PS3 in stock, but it came with a 5 game bundle, and I didn't want to pay a grand for the 20 plus some games I don't want. Checked 5 minutes later and it's out already.
Still haven't found a 60G in stock anywhere.

Got one today! Last one they had. I wanted the 60g, but settled for the 20. I don't need the WiFi or silver trim, but really would have liked the bigger HD.

hell, if that's the case, then there is no point to buying the 60GB...just buy the 20GB and toss in a Seagate Momentus drive (100GB, 7200rpm). Yeah, it's a few hundred bucks, but it's 5 times the capacity and it's probably a good deal better in teh performance department

i agree about the hard drive....
i think the only other things that the 60 gig have are wifi build in...and a built in memory card reader....
supposedly you can buy addons to do either to the 20 gig...
i'm still sitting on the 20 gig one i bought....looks like i might get like 650 for it on ebay, but there are tons listed and they aren't moving that fast imo...
i've got two buddys that might just buy it off me, or i'm gonna return it....cause i'm getting stupid ideas like opening it...

well, it's simple economics... the longer you sit on it, the more readily available they are (and the less people there are that need/want one) and thus the less you will get for it.
Either dump it ASAP for what you can get, or just open the damn thing and have some fun with it.

well i guess sitting was a bad word....i originally listed it on nov 28th...
it sold, but to a scammer...
then i relisted and was flooded by a bunch of cheaper listings....
now they are going for about 650-750 in auctions, but many are with extra controllers, or games...
if i got 650 for mine i would make about 120 bucks...minus about 50 in fees, so for 70 bucks its almost not even worth the effort to keep relisting...
like i said its give it to a friend for cost or open it
since i have about 650 into a wii i don't think i'll keep it....

yeah it does....i lucked out as i don't need the classic controller as i had a gamecube...so i saved alittle....
they all add up to more...
i spent alot because i have 4 kids....most people probably only need 2 wiimotes and nunchucks...
the only thing i have seen so far that i don't like is that the wiimotes don't have rechargable batteries....should have been some way to plug them into the unit like the ps3

Yes, but you don't have to buy the points card, classic controller or classic games. You also don't need an extra remote or nunchuck unless you want to play multiplayer games.
There will be a game coming out soon called Wii Play. It is rumored to include a remote. This was the game included with a lauch overseas like Wii Sports was included here.

If you download games from systems other than Nintendo, you will eventually need the classic controller, I'm told. the only thing i have seen so far that i don't like is that the wiimotes don't have rechargable batteries....should have been some way to plug them into the unit like the ps3 A rechargeable docking station is due out in a few months.

one question can you use the game cube controller as a classic controller?
i might want to get the original legend of Zelda because i have never played that one.
and i saw that wii play it looks like wii sports but more stuff in to kinda neat...

one question can you use the game cube controller as a classic controller? You can use the GC controller and sometimes the Wii remote if it's a Nintendo system game from what I understand (NES, SNES, N64) but if it's another system (Genesis, TurboGrafix 16, etc.) you will need the classic controller. and i saw that wii play it looks like wii sports but more stuff in to kinda neat... Yeah...but worth it for a game and controller, I imagine.

i think you got it...i was looking for a chart i saw that broke down what controllers will work for what games, and i can't find it....
but turbo grafics stands out as one that you needed the classic controller....
the gamecube controller handled about 90% though, and it should be noted that you need the gamecube controller for gamecube games so that imo is the way to go...
i would only get the classic if you downloaded a game that needed it...

Keep an eye out for the classic controller that comes with 5000 Wii Points. Not sure when or how much, but it's coming.

Yeah, I saw that the HD is upgradable, but would like the convenience of just having the 60g in there without having to upgrade. I'm sure down the road I'll end up doing it. Does it have to be that specific HD, or are there many that will work?

i'm not 100% positive, but the video i saw was a guy putting a 120 gig into his japanese ps3 turning it on....it prompting to format, and thats it...
from what i can see you just pull some cover on the back off, and put in the new drive...
i believe they are sata 2.5 inch notebook drives....
now that i think about it check your manual.....

Yippee skippy. I'll be looking around on Ebay to see if I can hook myself up with a nice lil' HD.
