The Raiders have some talent but they have no O-Line and until they get one, they will continue to be at the bottom of the league. I think Asomugha is the best corner in the NFL.

Our O-line is pretty decent at run blocking thanks to Tom Cable. Pass blocking is another story.

Not a lot of people talk about Asomugha, but I like him a lot. He is good - but he doesn't talk crap all the time like some people do. I guess that is part of the reason why not a lot of people talk about him.

That and the fact that no one can pronounce his name right.

Well, I guess, in someways you're right, and it really pains me to do this, but...

The Raiders have a very good run blocking line, they just have a very poor pass blocking line.

That is why you'll see the Raiders run, run and run some more this year.

Yeah, and thank God we have a decent running game. It takes the pressure off of Russell and could help him develop. Hopefully the good things Oakland has on paper can translate into real life.

Not to alarm you, but some folks from Denver scribbled all over your paper with blue & orange crayons, crumbled it up and tossed it in a bonfire.

Haha I'm surprised you said something after what happened to the Browns.

The 10-6 Browns... remember?

I don't think you should say anything to me when your team looked pretty bad also.

Yeah, Oakland's defense was terrible and we lost one of our linemen when we were already thin there. Not looking good.

JaMarcus had a good game...

Yes, the Browns looked bad against a team many are picking to go to the Super Bowl....not to a team that MIGHT make the playoffs.

41-14 vs 28-10

Not to mention we played a team that would wax the floor with pretty much anyone else in the NFL right now.

Yeah, and aren't the Browns expected to be a playoff team? After a 10-6 year I think playoffs are expected. So, it seems to me that the Browns didn't live up to expectations.

I only disappeared because I was the last person to reply to this thread. Did you want me to reply to myself?

And I didn't disappear completely - I responded to LW56's thread. I stuck up for the Browns and this is what I get? Thanks, guys.

Either way, both teams looked terrible. Denver isn't a bad team at all. None of you have the right to smack on the Raiders when your team looked terrible, too. It doesn't matter who you played.

If you are playing the numbers game by posting the scores, here are some numbers for you:

JaMarcus Russell QB Rating: 111.1
Derek Anderson QB Rating: 74.0

Go ahead and reply about your Pro Bowl QB being so much better/experienced and that 1 game doesn't matter. If he really is a Pro Bowl QB, he shouldn't have had so much trouble. Look at the Brown's receivers and then look at Oakland's. Oakland started Ron Curry and Johnny Lee Higgins at WR and Ashlie Lelie played some (he was just signed last week). Denver has a great CB duo in Bailey and Bly.

I thought this thread was done? Were you Brown's fans so depressed about your loss that you had to resurrect this thread so you can make fun of a team that did just as bad?

It's not dead. When someone says Al Davis is supreme, and then his team gets destroyed by a middle of the pack team, i'd say this is worth to bring up.

Face it, your teams blows, hard.

BTW, I'd still take Derek Anderson, who was the victim of Braylon dropping all sorts of passes. Russell did look good though.

"JaMarcus Russell QB Rating: 111.1
Derek Anderson QB Rating: 74.0"

Oh boy...who wants to guess when most of Russell's stats were from? Could it be after the Raiders were down 27-0 in the 4th quarter and Denver started playing prevent defense while also taking it easy since the game was in hand?

Let's see...

Russell quarters 1, 2, 3: 10/15 108 yards 0 TDs 0 FG drives
Russell quarter 4: 7/11 2TDs

http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playbyplay...p;override=true

Or, let us simplify the matter if you want to talk statistics. If you are playing fantasy football, then who would the average person want as their starting QB; Derek Anderson or JaMarcus Russell?

Considering that Anderson is nearly universally starting for these teams while Russell is nearly universally on waivers (noone even wants them on their bench), I think we have a consensus.

I figured the thread was dead because no one had posted in a few days.

Yeah, Oakland looked terrible. I'm surprised the offense looked better than the defense. Yeah, I can see why you would still take Anderson. Even though the Browns played a great team, I still think things looked pretty bad for them, too.

Well, considering Russell had more fantasy points, I would have wished I started him over Anderson. I think that is how fantasy football works.

Of course Anderson is starting on a lot of teams. He had a good year last year. Who is going to start JaMarcus when he has only 1 start and Oakland figures to be running the ball all the time.

My point was that Russell had a better game. Russell has a terrible offensive line, bad wide receivers, and was playing against Champ Bailey and Dre Bly.

Russell would have had 2 more TD's in the first half. On the one play, Ron Curry was wide open and could have run into the endzone untouched, but he dropped the pass - not Russell's fault at all.
On another play, a defender grabbed a handful of Zach Miller's jersey and prevented him from making the catch which would have gone for a TD. Even the commentators said they were surprised the refs didn't see the obvious penalty.

What about Anderson? You said he was a starter in fantasy leagues. He is also a Pro Bowler. What do you have to say about his performance?

Did the Browns look bad on opening day last year? How'd that turn out? Go back to your homework and stop wasting bandwidth. I swear, it should be a requirement to have more than a 5th grade education to post on here.

How did it turn out? They got rid of their starting QB. Is that what you want? You want Anderson gone?

Good job thinking that post through. Now, if you don't mind, my 5th grade education and I have some more bandwidth to waste.

The QB that finished our week1 game last year went onto the probowl. I would definitely take that again.

Oh, and the starting QB for the Raiders in week1 last year couldn't beat out Beck for the backup QB position in Miami.

The backup QB for the Raiders in week1 last year "retired" because noone would give him a job.

Yes, he went to the probowl, but he failed to take the team to the playoffs. You really want that again?

Are you really surprised at what happened to McCown and Culpepper? Neither of them were meant to be a leader on the Raiders. They were just there until Russell was ready.

Anderson`s performance was rather good IMO. Id have to say and the absence of JJ, Stallworth, Cribbs, and BE coming back from an injury/dropping very catchable passes hurt us more than anything Anderson did.

But that game, like your game against the Broncos, is in the past. So good luck against the Chiefs on Sunday.

I agree, it is in the past. I actually thought this thread was done, but someone resurrected it. That is the only reason I posted again.

Thanks. Good luck to the Browns, too. I hate the steelers much more than I hate the Browns.

And it will probably get resurrected again when the Faiders get their ass handed to them by the Chefs later today....what do you expect when you come along trolling when our teams aren't even facing one another and run a dumb assed thread about your senile owner??? (and keep adding drivel to it)

Haha I think you got it backwards. Oakland rolled on the Chiefs. You could have avoided looking stupid if you waited until the game was played.

I'm hoping Al doesn't fire him.

Yes rolled. Oakland had 300 yards rushing. Our 3rd string RB, Michael Bush, had more rushing yards than the KC running backs combined.

I'm sorry Russell was ineffective in his 3rd start. Young QBs tend to do poorly. Besides, Russell didn't need to look good to win this one. And what do you mean "again"? Russell didn't have a bad game last week.

Congrats on Anderson throwing 2 interceptions tonight. I know Russell played bad too, but he didn't turn the ball over. Jamal Lewis had a good game, too.

The Chiefs might not be mighty, but Oakland did win and that is a start.

Is this going to be something you do every time the Browns lose? Get very angry and try to take it out on the Oakland fan?

Just going to go ahead and remind you that the Browns are 0-2. If you are upset with them, then write to them. Not to me.

Haha, are you serious? I am not a Browns fan. I was just joking. If I were, why would I admit to having a troll account?

In the Gameday thread, I said joking stuff along the lines of: "Phil Dawson's foot is made out of Jesus' tears."

I also called Roethlisberger a Scientologist and said that Harrison guy is the son of Zeus.

I'm sorry you took the time to go through my posts on the game day thread. I was just being a "troll" and wanted to see if anyone actually payed any attention to my ridiculous posts. I guess you were watching my posts too closely.

Regardless, don't you have more important things to do then watch Sunday Night Football while hanging out in a Br_wns message board?

I'm not taking anything out on you, it's just that when Raidah fans get a little too big for their britches, they sometimes need someone to bring them back down to Earth. The fact that the Raiders passing game continues to be inept pretty much discounts all the "smack" you've posted regarding Anderson and Russell. I should also remind you that not every defense is the Chiefs, and the only saving grace to Russell so far is his play in garbage time.

The Br_wns may be 0-2, but at least we aren't deluding ourselves as fans.

More important things? Yes. I had homework, but I am a terrible procrastinator. And I didn't watch the game, I was just going off of what the other posters said.

Oakland's passing game was expected to be poor with a new QB. The running game is going to win games for Oakland, as you saw this past weekend. No, it doesn't negate what I've said about Anderson and Russell. If I'm looking at the same stats as you, then you will see that Anderson has played very poorly, too. And he isn't a QB in his 3rd start like Russell is. If Russell has a saving grace, does Anderson?

Oakland's running game should be fine against most defenses. I'm not saying it will. But if you look at last year, Oakland could run pretty well for the most part.

I'm not deluding myself. I'm merely being a fan. I will (try to) talk smack with any other fan because - no matter what - I am proud to be a fan of the Oakland Raiders.

I'm not going to type Raiders as Rai_ers because Oakland has no D. That is making fun of the team I am a fan of. My approach might not be the most realistic, but there is nothing I can do to change the ownership, coaching, or players of the Raiders. I'll take what is given to me and deal with it.

Dude, you're funny.

Are you seriously praising your owner? The owner that is single-handedly running your team into the ground?

Al Davis is a controlling, senile old man who won't allow the guys he hires do their jobs. You better pray the man dies soon, or someone offs him, because until that man is dead, your team will be at the bottom of the NFL. Guaranteed.

No, I did not praise Al Davis. The title of the thread was picked to get the maximum reaction from Browns fans. I'm not going to agree with Al Davis on everything he does, and there is nothing I can do to persuade him to change his ways.

I would never wish death upon Al Davis, or anyone. I might pray that the Raiders start winning again, but I would never pray for someone to die. Whether you meant that as a joke or not, it was a stupid thing to say.

Of course I didn't mean it literally (the comment about hoping he dies).

But I do honestly feel that his control of the team will keep you guys from having any success.
