No injuries - thank God. My next door neighbors 2 daughters go there.

I remember the biggest concern when I went to High School was kids getting caught smoking.

I work in Willoughby and can hear all the helicopters overhead. From what I've read it sounds like the principal talked the student out of killing himself. My 2 kids attend a middle school in the same school district. I think they may be on lock down. What a scary world we live in.

It sucks that you can't even send your kids to school without worrying. You can't dwell on it though - you'd make yourself crazy.

Oh and thanks for the b-day wishes. I almost forgot until I saw the cake. lol

Buy your kids The Bullet Blocker and your worries will disappear.
It is a 3-Ring Binder that stops a .44

They also have panel inserts for your kids backpacks.

Same here. Smoking, and maybe a a fight breaking out (but that was even fairly rare). YIKES! Makes me worry about the world my little girl will grow up in.

I remember when we had to be very alert at recess....

I know I never ratted anybody out, but I always wished there was a teacher close when they did light up,....

I can't remember if it was two years ago or three, but there was a stabbing at the high school (or actually I think it was a middle school, not sure though) behind my apartment complex in Orlando that made national news. The entire area was on lockdown and I could not return to my apartment since it was not cleared of any possible evidence.

I had a big project that was due that day that I was returning home to grab before class. Emphasis on BIG thus I didn't want to carry it around all day. My teacher, who hadn't heard of the incident yet, didn't believe me at first and though I was slacking. The following day I turned it in without a problem after she heard about the entire incident and knew that I lived in that complex so I really was telling the truth

I was shocked to hear that happened here, but it proves it can happen anywhere it wasn't too long ago that gunmen walked into Wickliffe middle school and started shooting. The policeman who killed him was a family friend. I wish kids would wake up and realize that this crap has to stop.

Or sadly for some ANYONE"S attention. I can't even imagine what kinds of homes some of these troubled teenagers come from. I'm in constant communication with my kids. Even if they don't want to tell me everything that's going on in their lives, at least they know I care and that they can come to me. I even tell my daughter she can email or text me with a question or concern if she's not comfortable talking about it. I know a lot of children don't have that. Not saying I'm the perfect parent, but I am nosy and annoying at times to them. Sometimes they think I'm a little crazy, but they just laugh it off. I think they are happy inside knowing I'm their number one support.
