I love tracking this every year going into the Super Bowl,...does your favorite college have an alumni player headed to the Big One ?

Ohio State has had a player in every Super Bowl except four or five. Pending the result of the NE/SD game, after today's round, it's guaranteed this year, AGAIN.

Indianapolis--Mike Doss
San Diego--Matt Wilhelm & Shane Olivea

New England--Mike Vrabel & Bam Childress
Chicago--Tyler Everett
New Orleans--Kevin Houser & Will Smith

Who's YOUR team and who are their players ?

Never paid much attention to that.

Colts.......0

Pats...Reche Caldwell, Jabbar Gaffney, Chad Jackson

Saints....0

Bears...Alex Brown, Rex Grossman,Todd Johnson,Ian Scott.

For the record, I am pulling for the Saints even though that reduces the list of teams to never play in a Superbowl.

Colts - Marlin Jackson & Cato June

Patriots - Tom Brady & Pierre Woods

Saints - Jonathan Goodwin & Mark Campbell

Bear - Brian Griese

Im rooting for Tom Brady and the Patriots so he can add another ring to his HOF career as well as crush Mannings hopes yet again.

Just kind of a neat thing to follow,...I am pulling for the Saints too, as it does, as you mentioned, reduce the number of teams that haven't been---I feel that's a positive, getting us closer.

Nice list; thanks for the response. I like Brady too--he is a gamer. Too bad for Marty; looks like he might lose his job,.....would you want him back ? I know I wouldn't mind it at all.

Still hoping Manning (and Dungy) can get his due though,....and that win would give Doss a shot for a championship at every level he's ever played at.

Why would you want Marty back? (I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, just curious why) His track record isn't all that great in Playoff games, but is a decent coach.

My favorite school has none, zilch, zero players left in the playoffs. I am pulling for the Saints, which means they will lose next week.

Nice thread btw, I enjoyed the quest for Big Blue players, even though it was futile.

I don't really guess that I would, based strictly on his playoff blundering. He is a good coach; just threw that out here since there is speculation he will not be the Charger coach much longer. I want RAC to get his chance for another year, but he is history after next season, assuming all other things remain the same as the past two seasons.

I equate it to the talk about hiring Cowher, a move where I definitely stand "anti." Marty at least was here before (agreed---so was Cowher), but didn't desert to the competition. Bill C will always be a Steeler.

Fair enough. Was just curious as to reasons why. Cowher/Marty....nah, give RAC one more year before we swing the ax
