It'll be like last year,....teams will have to "fall off" the proverbial boat/wagon for Ohio State to get a shot.
What goon voted them a "one?" Anyway, don't matter. They HAVE to beat USC or it's a done deal. Luckily, as good as they are, USC, does NOT have to win to get back--assuming all others take one dive.
Oklahoma is the big threat, on paper, as I see it, to go unblemished. The SEC simply can't--their head-to-head contests are just too tough. If somebody DOES do it, it will likely be the winner of the Big Cocktail Party. And God bless them, they will deserve that. Georgia's got that one hurt lineman. I have not seen Florida. Maybe The Citadel will handle them,.... (just kidding 'Peen,....)
Missouri will play Oklahoma at some point,....and I believe Texas and Oklahoma are in the same division.
I love ECU, but they're just an Hawaii-type pretender. Kudos to their kids and their program though.
One week at a time.

Only surprise for me is Oklahoma over Florida. I watched a bit of their Miami game and was impressed...saw only highlights of Sooners / Bearcats.
Obviously we will know where the Bucks stand in 6 short days. Sub par competition or not, the defense is doing their job with one TD in eight quarters. Todd has to stop holding the ball (e.g. late throw to Hartline...middle of end zone). Herron looks good although I think he looks for contact.

Our 1's got outplayed by an average MAC team for most of the game. Huge bucks fan here,, but we don't even deserve a top 5 spot right now.
On the bright side, BCS rankings don't mean squat right now.

The only difference I see between ECU and Hawaii (from last year) and even Boise State from the year prior to that is that ECU's schedule is far superior. Already this year ECU has defeated 2 ranked opponents. I'm not saying at this point they should get a title shot...but their team is a tough group of kids.
And I was hoping this season I would get over it...but alas I still loathe the trash that is known as the BCS.

The one thing that Miami vs. Florida taught me is that Miami is going to be a great, great, team over the next few years. They played a lot of true freshman, and redshirt freshman, and they were in that game until the fourth quarter.

I think you're reading me incorrectly,(...notice I did not say "wrong'....I think it's rude) but I understand what you're saying. A win vs. USC might make voters forget last week, but the Buck Faithful still need to hope for all of those others to get a loss somewhere. Just my opinion.

Understood. This national thing of the Bucks being overrated is amusing, as is the media continuing to convince themselves (not a conspiracy theory....just a notion). At the start of last season I thought that a Buckeye run for the title was possible this year. The fact that they made it to the title last year was a pleasant surprise for me. I do believe that most of Buckeye Nation realized the same thing and knew we were over matched against LSU. That is the BCS though and I'm all for a playoff....please. Let LenDale White exclaim how much the Bucks suck and Palmer state his contempt. It does not matter. Next Saturday is a statement of it's own, one way or the other. You are as good as your last win, especially if it is late in the season. Enough of my rant....there are 24 other teams. Btw, I too thought that Miami was impressive given their youth.

USC is gonna beat OSU so bad this coming Saturday that their ancestors will feel it.
Overrated State University will lose, then most likely win out the rest of their brutal schedule (LMAO) then end up in the BCS to only get rocked by a better team who deserves the title of national champions, seriously though I see Overrated State University losing a conference game, so forget the national championship.
The Big Ten is overrated as a conference, the talent shows and they keep falling and falling and falling to the point that the Big Ten is not much a better conference the the Big East, and that isn't saying much.
I see the national championship being USC and Georgia, and have a feeling the Georgia can get the job done, after that it is anyone's guess, just like the one I just made.
With that said, from the looks the Browns should land a high pick and if they took Lauranitis I would not cry, the kid is gonna be a force in the Pro's and would not mind getting this LB in the future.

The Hurricanes are going to be a force the next few years. -It's our luck that we get to play them just as they are coming into their own.
If Ohio State beats USC, we can't coast through the rest of the season. Wisconsin is no joke, and Illinois could have beaten Missouri. - Our luck that we play both Wisconsin, and Illinois on the road. Penn State looks good as well.
Our offense will not do much against USC, therefore, our defensive players have to play the game of their lives.

I don't pay a lot of attention to Florida recruiting, but that state must have unbelievable talent given the number of successful Div 1 schools (the states reputation in that regard is a given...I just don't follow HS football like that). With that asset and the Canes name, it is no surprise that they are coming back.
Whisky...defense and Hill on the road. Tough one there. Illiniois....Juice always presents problems. I'm just glad Mendenhall left. PSU.......Some may regret asking Joe when he is retiring. Clark is doing well and Williams is quick and versatile. I'm glad we have them at The Shoe.
I dare say that our offense can indeed do some damage against the Trojans, but Todd has to make quicker decisions. Is he related to Charlie Frye? (ouch...I'm sorry, but couldn't help it). We must have Beanie, of course. I like Herron, but as I said before, I think he looks for contact. It should be a great game.

I will exaggerate for you as I have in the past,...."there are more high schools in Florida and California than there are high school kids in Ohio,..."
Please, do not wonder why the Big Ten is on the downslide. It's called "weather."

Good luck actually.
You want to bulk up the Big 10's rep....go out and bully some good teams.
I am not saying that as smack...The Big 10 has a credibility problem right now, and the best way to erase that is to beat good teams.
You want Miami to be good when you play them.

The Big 10 doesn't have as big of an integrity problem as the ACC, or the Big East.
Many teams from multiple conferences worthy of being in the top 10, to me, what's important is top 5. Conference Rankings in my opinion:
1. SEC - Georgia,Florida,LSU, and now Alabama all worthy of being in the top 10, and top 5.
2. Big 12- Both Oklahoma and Missouri easily fall within the top 10, and could both be in top 5.
3 Big 10- Ohio State, and Wisconsin both worthy of being in the top 10 with Ohio State being top 5. Penn State may be worthy of top 10 come bowl season.
4. Pac 10- USC may be better than any team I have already mentioned, UCLA beat a ranked Tennessee team, and Cal is a good team.
-I can no longer place the Big 10 over the the Big 12 because of the transition Michigan is going through right now. However, this may change come next season.
-If my Buckeyes beat USC, and then run the table in the Big 10, they are playing for at least a share of the title regardless of which bowl they get into. I will have the same mantra if an SEC team, or a Big 12 team goes undefeated and does not play for the "BCS" Championship.
-'Peen, who do you like between USC and Ohio State?

Exactly - if we beat USC we jump to top 2 IMO... last weekend we did not look like a top 5 team... I'm surprised we stayed as high as we did
ECU is underrated IMO... I'm anxious to see if they can keep it rolling in their conference.

I like OSU....but USC will win the game.
Very possibly big.....one positive for the Bucks was the close game with OU...don't look at the final score...OU won that game most of the way.
If that doesn't serve as a wake-up call....I don't know what will.
Yes..they were looking ahead.
USC 34 OSU 24

i really question tressel's play calling early in that game, it was almost as if he wanted that game close, maybe to remind his guys that you can't be taking plays off...
this is going to be such a tough game on saturday...
the defense has to show up, they haven't been bad so far, but they haven't really been tested...
tressel is a lot better going up against the type of offense usc will bring, a lot better than say if we were facing florida, or even missouri...

ECU could be this year's Boise State and throw a wrench into the BCS... if you look at their schedule, it's not hard to see them going undefeated.. with wins over Va Tech and WVU (both of whom I expect to rebound and have decent seasons)... so it's going to be hard to deny them a spot somewhere, probably not the national championship game but a spot somewhere...
