I understand what you are saying and agree in theory BUT it hinges on having an accurate pass that is catchable. When BE has to adjust to a bad pass it allows opposing CB's to close the gap without adjustment to the initial cushion.

Sorry I can't factor in a bad pass..in that case I'd have to do it with any pass pattern.
Regardless of the premise that his throw might be off..if thats whats there , then thats what you work with..and thats exactly what the coverages are now schemed to do..they're taking that intermediate/deeper throw away.
Gotta go to it or gets someone in who can hit that pass regularly.
