OK, so I've been a Browns fan since birth really, but in earnest since Brian Sipe & Co. Everyone who knows me knows I bleed Brown & Orange - seriously. I wore a Countdown to Kickoff watch for 700 and some odd days waiting for opening day 1999. I would update people regularly on how many days were left until our Browns were back. (Screw u Art) I think most of them thought I was crazy! Since then I've worn a Browns watch every single day. No, I don't own a "dressy" watch or regular everyday watch. I wear it EVERY day, all day - it's just part of me. I love the Browns and am proud to show it. I even have personalized license plates that read TDBRWZ and season tickets for I think 6 seasons now.

Now however, I find myself losing something I've had for a long time. It's like I'm losing a little piece of that passion. I don't want it to happen, but I almost feel like after so many disappointments year after year after year I don't have as much to give. The letdowns have become too regular.

I'm a Cleveland girl through and through, and the wear and tear of being a Cleveland sports fan has added to this feeling. I give so much (emotionally) and cheer so hard and I feel like it's becoming a waste of time. I'm almost sick of caring. When the Buckeyes won the National Championship game that was SWEET, but I’ve never been as rabid an OSU fan as I have the Cleveland sports teams. And the fact that it seems like the players and coaches don't care that much is even more disheartening. I know some of them really do want to win, like Cribbs, Winslow and Jamal, but for the most part I really believe that they don’t care nearly as much as the fans. Even when I hear Romeo after the games, I don’t feel that he has a sense of urgency or desire to turn things around. I want to tell him to get fired up… lead these guys and motivate them to be the best! I know we have injuries, but we still have a lot of talent on the field.

Now it's to the point, I almost expect to lose, and kind of accept it before the game is even played. I think that's my way of putting up a wall to help avoid being disappointed once again.

I know this may sound trivial to some and trust me, I know there are much bigger issues in life than the Browns and sports...and I am soooooooo thankful for all the blessings I have in my life. If only the Browns or any Cleveland sports team (but mostly the Browns) could provide that feeling of being champs. I want so bad to know what that feels like.

I know how you feel, im not the young rabbid fan I once was, buying anything and every thing that had to do with the Brown's, But on the other hand maybe we are just getting older and the fire is just not as high as it once was?.....Now dont get me wrong! I still love the Brown's , Cav's, And Tribe, its just not like when I was young.

But I am proud of my root's and will remain a loyal fan for as long as I walk this earth, I will always be a Cleveland fan , Will I ever get to see my team win the big one? Only one person know's the answer and if it is ment to be then I will rejoyce with all the fan's that have indured such a long some happy, some sad seasons, But allway's cheering on our beloved Cleveland sport's team's.

Interestingly enough, I've always thought/feared that when we finally won it all, I'd start to lose my passion.

Hang in there Go. It's amazing how much a two game winning streak can chase away the blues, and remember there is less of you (skinny) to love now.

i really don't get too down after losses, they are frustrating, but i've learned to just put them behind you, maybe that is because i still play sports, and it's just in my habits to put away the bad, and really, even forget about the good stuff, never dwell too much...

i'm almost 27 years old, i barely remember the drive and the fumble, but i was fully aware of watching the tribe lose in '95, and to watch them flush it down the toilet in '97, '05, and '07

you just gotta remember that there are 31 other teams in the nfl trying to get what you want. and sometimes it's not even about who's the best team, sometimes, and especially in the nfl, it's about the schedule, it's about the luck of not having any huge injuries, and it's about playing your best football at the right time. just look at the giants.

Don't feel bad girly! we all want to know what it feels like no matter who your team is.

This sounds sick, but after a few half way decent seasons, it's a relief for me to see my Bengals stinking again! It's like the old days... I can actually get tickets! And best of all, the filthy bandwagoners are falling back into the ditches from which they crawled out! I can have conversations with REAL fans who KNOW something about the team.

I guess I'm saying that if you can proudly sport your colors in times like these, then you're a true fan. I respect you for that. You have a feeling that those other people know nothing about... it's called loyalty. In my book, it's better than SB bragging rights for a few weeks.

I'm with you, Go. It's a crappy feeling and it kind of sucks. I feel like my Browns "high" was the past seven or eight years and now I'm just kind of blah about the whole thing. I'm sure a few wins -- and Romeo shutting his pie hole -- will help a little, but I'm pretty apathetic right now. I'm tired of giving my all when the team gives a half assed attempt.

And, Phil, I hear you, too. Scary. isn't it?

I appreciate everyone's input. I know I can never stop being the loyal fan I am, no matter how much I want to some days. I just hope eventually it will all be worth it and we can all enjoy many rounds together celebrating.

I think it's partly disappointment dear, after a 10 - 6 season, nearly making the playoffs etc.. then having a 0 - 2 start.. yuck

Lets see if we can't get to 2 - 2 in the next coupla games.. cheer up girl, we gonna punk the squealers in their place and make crusty cry. That alone will be worth it

I agree with you girl. I've lived through all the italisized years and find myself in Florida for the past 25 years or so.

I am a Browns fan first and foremost, live ,die, bleed...then the Tribe and Cavs. The only championship I have seen was the Force (lol).

Florida's full of transplants like me and I catch hell from every fan from the Steelers to the Marlins to the Magic and the bandwagon Tebow fans...

....I HOLD MY HEAD HIGH....would I like a championship ??...hell yeah...but if there's not one will it stop me from being a CLEVELAND FAN ?? ...not a chance in hell. I want one, pray for one, with every ounce of my being, but I, like you and others, are still CLEVELAND FANS. You can try to pick another team....but it ain't gonna happen. You'll watch them on TV and constantly look in the corner or at the bottom to see what they are doing.

It's in your blood...you can't deny it....(didn't someone go this route already???).

Here's what I do ....pick a really good high school football team in your area and become a fan...when they win it eases your pain...but above all...

GO WITH YOUR HEART !!!

I'm guessing Sunday's game didn't do a whole lot to rekindle that old spark.

lol

Did I say "A Drink"? It may take more than that the way things are going.

Did these guys think wins would be handed to them because they had a little success last year? I'm not one to blame the coaches usually, but I'm losing faith in Romeo.

It's all so freakin aggravating. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
