At this point, I can't figure it out. I'd like to think that Troy is a really good team, but, given our near miss against OU and the buttkicking by USC, combined with our effort today, I'm beginning to think that we aren't as good this year as we have been the last couple years. Even if we win today, I see us falling a few spots in the rankings.

Pryor is gonna hurt this team as much as he helps.
Rookie mistakes all over the place today.
EDIT: Just as I say that, he scores a TD pass.

Dude, its a process. Obviously there are gonna be some growing pains. Keep in mind this is his FIRST college start. You make that statement acting like he won't progress as the season unravels. To say that as the season continues he will hurt them as much as he helps them is ridiculous

I'm not saying he won't progress.
I'm just saying the light won't suddenly turn on this year. He's too young.
That doesn't mean I'm writing him off. I understand it's a process and he should and will improve, but will he improve enough THIS YEAR to take us where we want to go? I'm not so sure.
EDIT: Plus, I'm not sold on our receivers. Hartline and Robiskie both blow.

he'll take them alot farther than boeckman will

I'm not saying he won't. By no means am I a Boeckman fan at all. He's awful.
I'm just saying Pryor won't be this magic pill that fixes all our ills. It's going to take time and patience.

I think Pryor will be ok as the season progresses but OSU's trench play has been average 3 straight games now. Never expected their OL to look so sluggish against average teams like OU and Troy. I'd be much more worried about the OL moving forward then I would about Pryor getting better with experience.
As for the defense, they seem to be pretty swiss cheese. Troy has made some mistakes but they've pretty much moved the ball at will when they haven't been pinned inside the 5. When OSU plays one of the better spread teams in the Big Ten (like Illinois), I think they're going to have some serious issues.

You can't say you didn't expect it...question is are we willing to take lumps with the rookie cuz there is no way in hell we r going all the way this year...for the obvious reasons(last weeks loss). So what to do know? roll with the rookie who gives us more of a shot at times(has more potiential) but will make mistakes for sure? or go with a 6th year QB who is making stupid mistakes anyway when he isn't supposed to?

[When your dad is the worst receivers coach in the NFL you tend to suck.
Thats is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard on this board. The guys dad is a NFL WR coach, even if he IS the worst WR coach he is still better than 99% of any other WR prospects dads. You can not tell me that having a NFL coach as a dad would lead a guy to suck. If he sucks, it is despite who is dad is, not because of it.

im not an OSU doctor, but I think Robo was hurting today, still made a couple nice grabs. no need IMO to label him unfairly.
as much as i rip Boeckmann, i can still feel his pain, 5th year player, team captain playing poorly. NO EXCUSE for fans to boo him. that i will never understand, support your team.
The term RAW gets tossed around a lot with young players, Pryor fits that mold to a T, should be interesting

i'll admit i was a little rough on robo today...he is a decent WR. But i was so mad when he didn't attempt to catch that one where there was no one between him and the endzone. The ball wasn't even thrown that bad..it was pretty good.

I just hope pryor can be as good of a passer if not better then troy smith. Pryor has a cannon arm. Hes physically bigger and faster then Troy. It was amazing watching some of Pryors runs. It looked effortless when he ran and threw.

I would take penn state's spread over illinois at this point. clark is similar to robinson a few years back.
I'm not surprised at this performance. without wells this team is mediocre. I see them as a 8-4, 9-3 at best. even with proyor.
