The Pats that were 13th in the NFL last year at 115 ypg game?... As I said, most teams are stronger at one than they are at the other, but the Pats were able to run the ball....

Well the Giants are going to be looking to shutdown the run and the Browns will need balance in their attack..they can't just try to run it..they have to open it up but use things that have been successful.
I always say throw to the backs...get the TE's involved early and keep going to things that actually work.

I agree with this especially against the Giants. Their defense will pin its ears back until they have to do otherwise.

Getting those screens and quick passes to the TE and RB's or even a few quick slants to the WR's early on would be good.

The entire League will do this until Anderson's ability to be effective changes.

I agree, but the Giants I believe will take that to a higher degree.

DC - they passed for 304 yds a game.
When you're having THAT much success passing you can get some running lanes. But if they were faced with a 3rd and one...they were in the shotgun.

I live in new england...with a pat's fan for a son...I watched A LOT of the patriots last year and occasionally teams came out early and shut down their run and it wasn't long before they wished they hadn't....because the pats just plain gave up on the run and destroyed them with Brady's arm. and I mean DESTROYED them....to the point where I felt sorry for the opponent.

"The Ravens won all sorts of Low scoring games, dominated by their defense."

Before everyone goes and uses the "Exception" as the rule revisit history and remember this:

The RAVENS needed MIRACLES to happen to just get into the playoff!

The Ravens (led by the murderer) had one philosophy in their campaign. Bring the other teams offense down to their level...how to do this? Take out the other teams QB. That was their game plan.

Many of the rules today protecting the QB cam right after the Ravens SB win cause it was an embarrassment to the NFL. It wasn't Pressure that we saw from the SB winning Giants...it was an outright - GET THE QB HURT game plan. 320 pound Sargusa picking up QBs and Body slamming them into the ground with full force of his weight landing on them. That practice...outlawed after the 2000 season. Among others. They are not the team to model ourselves after...They are the exception and the NFL has installed rules to make sure that cannot happen again.

Its the Pats that we wish to model ourselves - Eagles sited more than once by this regime. Sure you cannot be revolving door against the run...but its a tenacious pass rush that turns games around.

Sure you must have successful balance on Offense and in those cases of success and the movements of chains Lewis will almost always incur a 20+ carry game.

This is Excellent...but I'm sorry the Staff writer who wrote the article is printing propaganda of smoke and mirrors. This team will not be a playoff team until it fixes two things.

1. An Offense that can be efficient in the air game...we NEED a Franchise QB!

2. A Defense that can apply ample pressure with their Basic 4-5 pass rush...with that success then blitzes become devastating. But we must make teams pay when they pass and when its an Obvious passing situation...amplify the possible negatives that come from the AIR...not the positives!

When we have these two variables working. That is when I say - OUR TIME HAS COME!!!

Until then...running Jamal 20+ times is Fool's Gold.

JMHO - please note, I'm a 3 yards and a cloud of dust football mentality - But when I see old timers like a Parcell ran team go to the Single Wing and get creative...the NFL is changing and PPE had an article out there from an SI writer who's article described supremacy in the air...all the way back from the 40's is what has ruled the NFL!

Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off!
Go Browns!

What makes the Giants more effective is that they can get more pressure rushing 4 than most teams can rushing 5.. and that's with arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL on IR...
