Just a note...I was talking about Roy Williams, I would not look into a trade with a Division rival mid-season. In the case of TJ I would wait till he is a FA and take something away from a Division Rival!

As for Lewis' comments about it being stupid and so ANTI-NFL to think that they would trade for somebody in their last year. Is Lewis kidding

Thats why a team might get him cheap...4, 5, 6th rounder pending how much a team like the Bengals (who should play big in the FA market and might get nothing in compensatory picks) Of course if they do not plan to utilize the FA market and I can't be surprised with anything that they do. Then yes it would be Stupid to trade him. What Lewis neglected to state - was any team would be stupid to trade a 1st or 2nd round pick for him which as I previously stated is probably what the INTELLIGENT Bengal's FO is probably asking for...and after they finish their LOSING SEASON will have NOTHING to show for TJ.

Tampering....I think what Shep is suggesting is that INSIDER INFO...just like in the Stock Market...is a NO NO! They didn't have permission from the Bengals to talk to Zampese about TJ...than that would be tampering.

What I would like to know is - How does something like that become common knowledge?

Exactly. It's not that hard to see/comprehend that is a no-no....

J/C

I personally would love it if the Browns traded Braylon Edwards straight up for T.J Whosyourmama

I think T.J is a better receiver, he doesn't drop balls all the time, the guy proved he is everybit as good as Chad Johnson is(before Johnson became a serious headcase) going to the Pro Bowl last year

T.J makes big plays

I personally think the Browns need to go in a different direction than Edwards...he was second in the league last year in drops and i do belive Edwards is close to leading the league in drops this year

If we can't get T.J, then maybe the Browns should try to get someone like Reggie Wayne from the Colts if he is a FA or maybe trade Edwards and a 3rd to Indy for Wayne..Wayne would be a #1 receiver on any other team in the league if it wasn't for Harrison being there...

I just don't think Edwards "has it" so to speak...he is not a Hines Ward or some type of receiver that you can "count on" when the Game is on the line.

Remember last year when we beat the Seahawks? Winslow "willed" that team on his back and carried us to a win...Edwards will never be capable of doing that...Edwards chokes in that situation everytime.

We need a Reggie Wayne or a T.J here... a guy to compliment Winslow..a guy who won't drop passes in critical situations....You can clearly see how bad this team misses Joe J...

I was never anamored with Edwards when we picked him...he has a knack for dropping passes...it was his kock coming out of michigan

Edwards still has yet to learn to catch the ball "with his hands" and keeps trying to use his chest and jumps so the ball hits his cheast...he needs to take notes from Winslow and "reach out" with "HIS HANDS" and catch the ball using his hands and fingers like winslow, wayne, and t.j do

this is why Edwards will "never" be a hall of fame or premier receiver in the league...because he doesn't catch the ball with his hands...he don't reach out like Winslow does to catch it, he is always using his chest to crade the ball...and he drops alot because of it

Even Terell Owens uses his hands to catch the ball..he reaches out and snatches it...granted T.O's drops have went up in the last few years, but T.O also had a serious injury to his hand/finger that I don't his hands will ever be the same.

prior to that injury, T.O rarely droped passes and always and still reaches out and gets the ball with his hands...I don't think Edwards will ever break this habit....

We need to unload him and try to get T.J while we can........T.J is a better receiver than Edwards IMO and T.J traditionally has some big games against the Steelers

Heck as crazy as it sounds i'd take Chad Oco Cinco over Edwards, heck who knows, maybe a change of scenery would do chad some good...I think Romeo could calm chad down a bit and he would do well here...no one likes to play in cincy

but this team needs to go in another direction at the #1 receiver spot...Edwards just isn't cutting it IMO

this cracks me up.....i bet you wasnt thinking this way last year when he made the probowl.....he is off to a slow start...im sure missing time in preseason and his injuries to his ankle and shoulder have nothing to do with his play right? There is no chance we would ever trade B-Easy to Cincy....Id love to have TJ....but i say lets play wait and see what happens with Free agency this offseason......

I'd trade Braylon for a sack of peanuts, but that's just me.

He has horrible hands.
He can't block.
He runs terrible routes.
He has a bad attitude.
He continuously chokes in the clutch.

He's big and fast. That's about all he has going for him.

And no, it has nothing to do with the fact he went to Michigan. Believe me I'd take Michigan-boy Tom Brady in a heart beat.

And yet half the season last year was spent with me cussing at him for doing things he shouldn't have. Yeah he had a great year statistically...but we all know stats are for...ah well you know the story.

Sun shines on every dogs butt once in awhile. Braylon's turn was last year.

Braylon is an amazing talent who started off terrible this year along with the rest of the team, you are a prime example of the stereotypical fan who has no patience whatsoever and reacts to everything the instant it happens and seemingly forgets when players perform good

Yet I'm one of the ONLY fans who agrees that we should stick with DA instead of turning our team over to the golden boy.

No, quite the contrary. I just think Braylon Edwards stinks and I've thought it for about 4 years now. It has nothing to do with the fact he's been even worse than normal this season.

Well if you thought he was bad last year then you weren't watching the same team that I was.

Well agree to disagree then. My opinion of him wasn't all that great last year either.

Give me Jurevicius / Winslow / Heiden. I want receivers who can block (that's my one knock on KW2) and can run precise routes to get open when needed and who have sure-hands.

I value consistency (esp in the clutch) and fundamentals over all else. All of Braylons flash and one season of numbers doesn't impress me much.

You take JJ, Heiden, and Winslow.

I'll take BE, Winslow, and Stallworth. (Obviously not going on this year lol).

I'll score more points than you.

.................

Whatever man, players like Braylon open up the field for players like Kellen and Joe... Braylon has been bad this year, but last year he was amazing.

Hah, maybe. Depends on the rest of the team. I'd use my high picks on a QB who is a gamer and a leader and a bunch of maulers with great technique on the O-Line. Plug in any sure-handed RB with decent speed and I think you might be surprised how many points "my team" would score.

I was saying if we had the same exact team with the exception of 3 guys... And you take Heiden, Winslow, and JJ. And I take Stallworth, BE, and Winslow, then I'd score more points

The thing that worries me with Braylon (besides inconsistency) is the fact that once he gets a chance, I think he's gone as a FA. It may just be me but he seems like he doesn't always enjoy it here.

Maybe its because he gets constantly booed and ripped on (Sometimes just because he is from Michigan.)

for the drops and the attitude he had maybe, but I don't honestly think that most browns fans rip on Edwards because he went to michigan. I mean he never had a game where he sigle handedly beat OSU to warrant such hatred. Had Jake Long, Tom Brady, or Charles Woodson come to Cleveland I don't think you'd be hearing it. I mean a lot of Browns fans hated Quinn in college. Those same haters are now clamoring for him to start.

True, but I'm saying because he had some mess ups AND he went to Michigan the boo's were that much louder and the criticism that much greater.

Reggie Wayne signed a 6 year contract in 2006 that made him the 3rd highest paid receiver behind M Harrison and R Moss. He currently leads the Colts in receiving, with nearly double the amount of yards that Harrison has.

Tell us please why the Colts would trade this player???????

That's a question better directed to Braylon himself these days.
