Check out this monster! Pa. man chews through belly-busting, 15-lb. burgerThu Oct 16, 6:06 PM ET CLEARFIELD, Pa. - It took Brad Sciullo 4 hours and 39 minutes to finish a marathon. A meat marathon, that is. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound western Pennsylvania chef is the first person to eat a monstrosity called the Beer Barrel Belly Bruiser: a 15-pound burger with toppings and a bun that brought the total weight to 20.2 pounds. The mountain of beef is the product of Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, about 100 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in Clearfield. Sciullo, 21, of Uniontown, said he was surprised he finished the sandwich Monday. "About three hours into it, things got tough," he said. When asked what possessed him to eat a burger that big, Sciullo said: "I wanted to see if I could." The burger included a bun, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, mild banana peppers and a cup each of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and relish, pub owner Dennis Liegey said. For completing the challenge in the under-five-hour time limit, Sciullo won $400, three T-shirts, a certificate "and a burger hangover, as I call it," Liegey said. *** I have always wanted to try and eat a huge burger r steak like this b/c I think I could do it. People are amazed at the amount of food I can chow down hehe, and always get mad b/c I am not a lard ass I think I could do it. While I was attending Akron I was bet once I couldn't eat 20 cheeseburgers in 2 hours. easiest $80 I ever earned I felt like complete crap the next day but the 4 $20's in my wallet cured that! Absolutely sickening... Yet oddly enticing. You ever try a Five Guys hamburger?

I used to eat like that back in the day. Wouldn't even come close now. I swear a wedding band cuts off circulation to your metabolism.

Steakhouse Chef: We call it Sir Loin-A-Lot. It's as big as a boogie board.
Homer Simpson: I'll have that. And to drink...meatballs.

There is one within about 1000 ft. of where I work in Avon. I will myself out of the temptation to hit that place on any given day, or I would be addicted and turn into a tub-a-lub.

Lee, if you ever see a Five Guys, you must stop. By far the best burger I've had from a chain style restaurant. "Normal" burgers are actually doubles and the "small" (or whatever they call them) are the single burgers. Also, the fries are fresh cut and cooked in peanut oil. Speaking of delicious burgers, I'll be in Cinci in March in the vicinity of the Duke Energy Center. If anyone is familiar with that area, is there a Skyline Chili within walking distance?

Double patties, anything you want on them for no extra price... Greatest hamburger I've ever had. I even became sort of a mascot when they first opened in my hometown, they even gave me a couple of t-shirts after I wound up bringing like 30 people for their "first time". Fairly expensive though, it varies from $4.29 up.

There's a couple of places in Florida, follow the link and see if there are any nearby where you'd be staying: Five Guys locations

Using that link Lee, you can find the locations in Ohio. It appears they are in Avon, Boardman, Fairlawn (coming soon), Fairview Park, and Strongsville.

Not sure where Duke Energy Center is in Cincy. But: Skyline Locator I would imagine that there is one somewhat near there though. There are a TON of Skyline's in Cincy.

That burger is ridiculous!!!!
Biggest burger I've seen was at Thurman's Cafe when they ran a special offering a Double Thurman Burger. It was huge---like 1.5 pounds of ground beef, and like a quarter-pound of ham.

Dude I don't even know where the hell she lives in Florida I believe by Orlando or something (Avon Park is where she lives) Maybe I'll trek down 77 to Fairlawn and try one out sometime. Then on my way back take RT 8 and stop by Swenson's! Kind of my own "Harold and Kumar" adventure hehe

Avon Park is close to Orlando, but not close enough for a hamburger. If you wind up heading to the parks though, it'd be a great stop. There's one on I-Drive, like 15 minutes or so away from the parks... I mean it's better then paying ~$10 for a hot dog at Disney. You guys have Swensons up there?! Didn't last down here, but they were the best.

That's where we will deff be heading when we eventually make it down there (Disney). I am all about getting a hotel too b/c a week or so trapped with my Mother-in-law I might end up going insane Swensons is real big around the Akron area, but I believe there is only one up my way. I love that place! Double galley boy with a cherry shake,,nutin like it!! Plus me not having to get out of my car I love is an added bonus That and I'm lazy hehe.

That's the thing though, I'm not familiar with Cinci at all though so I was hoping someone like ONB would stumble on the thread or something. I'll have to find out where the Energy Center is and start doing some mapquest searches

Ah, Thurmans, good times..
Derden, not sure how long you have been in the CBUS area, but were you ever able to make it out to the Gahanna Grill before it shut down?
I used to caddy out at New Albany CC when I was at OSU, and we used to hit up Gahanna Grill on the way back. They were known for their "Double Beanie Burger." I think I still have the t-shirt I got for finishing it. They also put your picture on the wall. The burger is absoulutely massive and it has cheese, bacon, slaw, tomato, etc. Felt like I was gonna die as I was finishing it..
I heart winning

Got one five minutes from my place. The hardest part is staying away. Gots to be the best fast food burger ever. Good fries too.

EVERY and I do mean EVERY dang time a food thread pops up and someone mentions burgers 337 has to go and mention those dadburned Swenson's and the Galley Boys.....it's a 45 min to an hour drive for me to get to the closest one. Unless they have one in Hartville now. But still he has to bring up their awesome burgers.

When I went out to Arizona for the National Championship game a few years back, before I left the news did a story on Troy Smith eating all the time at In and Out Burger. He was raving about their food, so the one thing I had to try was In and Out. Shotty and I kept getting lost everywhere we tried to go in Phoenix (it's amazing we found the stadium) and it was funny b/c I was talking to DP017 on the phone when all the sudden I saw the sign on the side of the freeway and I got all happy! About an hour before this we got lost in some gang infested neighborhood surrounded by pissed of hispanics trying to find In and Out Burger lol, so when we finally did it was pure bliss! So good we went back later that night and I ate 2 or 3 more burgers lol. Check it out:

lol dude, I remember talking to you on the phone as you found it. Well saw the sign at least. We never got out there at all since we didn't have a car. We hung out in the parking lot of our hotel since these people basically tailgated 24/7 out there in this kick ass OSU semi with a trailer toting this nice custom chopper.

Funny you should say that ... I always get mine without lettuce.
337, In-and-Out has become somewhat of a tourist stop for easterners traveling west since they are only located in California, Nevada, and Arizona. I believe they are still a family run business and do not franchise. They treat their employees incredibly well, and I believe Managers make close or more than 100k.
Great pic. Makes me want to go get one.
