I wish I got into this show before it was cancelled. This show is BRILLIANT. Too bad it won't make a Family Guy-esque comeback because I think it would do huge in the ratings now due to the exposure it's received via DVD and Hulu. Let's discuss our favorite moments here... I laughed hardest when Tobias told us he was a double professional, an analyst and therapist, or as he called it, an analrapist (pronounced an-AL-rapist).

That show was funny. When does the movie come out? I liked when Tobias went to the "Blue Man Group" only to find out that it was a different kind of "Blue Man Group" and of course he painted himself Blue thinking it was the other kind of Blue Man Group.

Michael: You know, GOB, you might want to start acting like the President. You're beginning to alienate some of the employees. Gob: Yeah, like the CEO has to worry about alienating the employees. Narrator: In fact, GOB *had* started to alienate some of the employees. Gob: [in the break room] The worst that could happen is that I could spill coffee all over this $3,000 suit. Come on. [in the elevator] Gob: Yeah, the guy wearing the $4,000 suit is holding the elevator for the guy who doesn't make that in four months. Come on. [in the bathroom] Gob: Yeah, like I'm going to take a whiz through this $5,000 suit. Come on.

Been my favorite show since the first episode. It wasn't quite Fox material, and most Americans are too stupid to handle it. Surely the most brilliant writing in tv history, IMO. Every character is just perfect! I guess I just miss shows about poor families, you never see that anymore!
Unfortunately I can't give you a favorite character to quote, because I can't pick just one! The dynamics between Michael and George Michael are where I always get the most laughs...

Probably the most brilliant show network television ever produced.
And to think...Hurwitz came out of the "Golden Girls" series.

I think the biggest problem with this show is that it was billed as a sitcom and not a series. It's hilarious if you watch the thing from start to finish. It's somewhat amusing and a little tough to follow if you only catch an episode now and then. BTW, the funniest scene I've ever seen on TV is when they're trying to trick the Japanese investors with the model homes behind their back window.

I have all three season and people have always stopped by when I'm in the middle and hate it... but when I let them borrow them all, they are hooked for life. There are so many plots, jokes, and secrets throughout... there's no way to understand it or enjoy it unless you see it from the begining. What I hated is that they had enough material to go for years and I noticed the last handful of episodes they had to cram in conclussions for almost all of it... heartbreaking.
Then why don't you MARRY the ice cream sandwich?!
In other news, this thread has inspired me to go back to another AD sig.

Easily my favorite show when it got canceled. I'm still waiting for a DVD set w/ the entire series. I had hopes that DVD sales might save the show, like w/ Family Guy.
There have been rumors of a movie, which seems weird. If there aren't enough viewers to keep the show on the air, who's going to go see the movie? I know I would.
Favorite moment? Gob doing the magician stunt of TRYING to break out of prison.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion. I already said it..... I've found that those who haven't taken the time to see them all do not and never will get it. I'm not mad, they're the ones missing out. It's a typical cult following... I don't enjoy Grateful Dead, but I don't jump in those threads and derail.

I pretty much agree with this statement. I bet atleast 50% of the jokes went right over most viewers heads because there wasn't a studio audiences' laughter to clue them in. Awesome show. Good, smart humor. No serious drama dragging it down. Not formulaic. Top 5 sitcom of all time for me. I think they really hit their stride in season 2.. season 1 was more of a setup season.

Those quotes are good, but what's really great is GOB's delivery when he says, "Come On!" He even says it when he's in the taxi in the banana suit and the driver stops too fast.

You guys do know they are making a movie, correct?
Best episode was when the mom has a drinking contest with the old secretary.
(as the blond woman passes out) "Excuse me, but I need to get back to rehab."

Dude, you're mean!
BTW i completely disagree with the sentiment that people are too stupid to get the show. That's a bit pompous, don't you think? Like i tried to say before it's not the type of show that you can just catch an episode here or there to like. Would you expect people to enjoy other popular series (that I don't watch) like Lost or 24 just by casually seeing an episode? I saw the series season-by-season using netflix and I highly recommend it. I mean, there's a reason it got an Emmy.

I think some people are too stupid to get it. You really have to be on your toes to get all the running gags and stuff. It's kind of like South Park and The Simpsons, you have to peel back the layers to truly appreciate the brilliance of the show.

Simpons, yes. South Park, not anymore. The SP humor has changed and become a lot more simple. Simpsons, for my money, the best animated series of all time. The suitableness of the majority of jokes and political jabs are what put it way above any other animated show. SP has just become..dumb.

IMO South Park gets smarter and smarter every year. It first started out as dumb jokes and toilet humor, once they started getting all preachy and social commentary-esque, the show took off.
Lately they've been slacking though.
