I don't know if this has been in the mainstream news, but Channel 4 in the UK went undercover in Mosques in England. These Mosques are supposed too be tolerant and moderate forms of Islam.
After watching the program, I am stunned at the thought of what may be happening around us. Is Islam so non-tolerant, that it can't exist in a Democracy? These moderate men of Islam in public, are they all hardcore behind the public scene?

I guess I've gone from being an infidel, too being a Kuffar. Ali, Jabbar and the like, always made me think it was a mainstream religion, but I'm questioning the basis of this belief, the more I find out about it.

I hadn't seen that yet. It would be interesting to see how widespread this kind of intolerance is in Islam over here. I also wonder what these people's kids will be like when they grow up. Growing up in the U.S. or U.K., they have to have at least some exposure to different ways of thinking.

It seems to be a problem for all of us and for Muslims also.

To be a "bad" Muslim- a non practising believer- makes it more likely to be a good American!

The cover story of the latest edition of Newsweek is "The Next Jihadists" and there is picture of a kid holding an AK-47.

Islam has never been tolerant. It is presented to westerners as tolerant and peaceful to gain converts. The next generation then learns how to get back to the basics of "true Islam", not the backslidden Islam of their fathers.

Islam basically means that you can do almost anything to a non Muslim as long as a Muslim benefits from the act. This is why it is such a popular prison religion. You can be your bad self and just blame the man and everyone, but yourself for being in prison.

Muslims are even forbidden from having friends that aren't Muslims. Islam is the greatest threat to all non Muslims, whether it is viewed as that or not.

If you read the Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) you can learn more. There are plenty of other books available that quote the most commonly accepted version of the Koran. They show Islams basic tenets and tell how this religion has expanded (mostly through warfare and forced indoctrinations of subjugated peoples).
