it is a long season and the Cavs are jst getting started, alot left to play out. I'm not a big B-Ball fan, but have been keeping an eye on the Cavs, I hope for Cleveland and all you B-ball fans Labron will bring a championship home to Cleveland. i'd probebly watch a few games & jump on the bandwagon.
I remember the days of Elmore Smith, Jim Chones, Bobby Bingo Smith, Austin Carr, Jim Brewer..Richfield years.
jump on board, there is plenty of room.
this team is going to make the dull months of january, february, and march, seem better. when the super bowl is over, and there's no football to get excited over, we will have the cavs. they are fun to watch. they've got one of the deepest rosters in the league.
every guy that is seeing time is making some sort of contribution. you have sasha pavlovic, who started on our finals team, out of the rotation and doing everything possible to be back in it. when you go back to the first 3-4 years of the lebron era, and look at our depth, it is quite amazing what they have turned into, a credit to both danny ferry and dan gilbert.
this is a fun roster. and don't forget, they still have wally's 13m contract in their back pocket. and the way things look right now, they won't be forced to make a move that could hinder their future. they don't need to trade that very very valuable contract for an over the hill star, or maybe a guy who's overpaid and still has 3 or 4 years left on his deal. danny ferry can stand pat if he wants. he is in PRIME position. with what i have seen of this team, there would be nothing wrong with letting wally and eric's deals expire and having all sorts of options next year. including signing wild thing, should we want to.last year, if we had wally's deal last year, danny ferry may have been force to trade that type of expring deal for something that wouldn't be worth it in return. instead, the trade last year looks so good right now.
it's amazing what playing well and coming into camp in shape and determined does. a year ago we wanted andy sent to siberia, now he's the talk of the town. he's playing great basketball.

Huh? Not sure why you responded to me with someone else's quote, but I don't get the jump on board bit if you are addressing me, I've been following the Cav's longer then you have been born bud.

j/c....
With Boston losing tonight, we are now only half a game out of first in the East. A win tomorrow night ties us up, and Boston goes on the road to Milwaukee tomorrow night. Here's to hoping that the Celts can't get it done on the road on the second night of a back-to-back. Utah will be tough, but I think with the lineup we have right now we can beat anybody.

don't know if you're being serious or not, but there were quite a few people here, and in the media/talk shows/blogs that were all over him for holding out, playing cruddy, and then being hurt.
not to mention the rumor that he nixed a deal that could have brought redd to cleveland. although that is just what it is, a rumor.
i'm happy to see him playing well, but i still have my doubts that he comes back. i do think he's best suited playing with lebron, who seems to make everyone better. hopefully danny ferry stands his ground, and doesn't overpay the guy. he did a great job with gibson's contract.

I was being serious, I have never envisioned the Cavaliers without andy, he reminds me of my boy Josh. Hustle plays that matter to the game, yet may not get the recognition deserved.
He has always meant a lot to this team, I never thought otherwise

yes he is. his last 2 games have been marvelous.
i know it is early, but he's ten times the fit that larry hughes was.
and people were questioning that he was overpaid? 8 million for this guy? are you kidding me?
it was an ugly game early on, but the cavs locked down on defense, delonte hit big shots, z hit big shots, mo hot big shots, and lebron hit big shots...
the chemistry between mo and z tonight has been great, so nice to see this early in mo's time with us... unbelievable.

He's been a lot better in the past two games for sure. I'm glad to eat my words when I was questioning his early play.

well, yeah. but the whole team right now is committed to harrassing the hell out of the other team.
3 nights in a row they have come out of haltime and smacked the other team around like a rag doll.
and i know, football has so much more going into it, the preparation, days of practice and study for 1 game, but it's just nice to see the commitment paying off. the cavs are no longer a 1-man team. lebron is still lebron, and he's stuffing the stat sheet, but every night there is someone next to him scoring at critical times, and there are several guys at the 15+ point range. it's awesome to see.
and the cavs havent lost in 2 weeks, so we haven't heard the usual expected "omgz the cavs lost, lebron is gonna leave, fire mike brown!!!" remarks in a while. it has been nice.

The first few minutes of the second half tonight were amazing and exactly what the Cavs need to do. Mo Williams and D West alternating threes and bam 3 point deficit is a 9 point advantage.... Noone on the planet can stop us when its raining like that.

You didn't read the AP release of the game then ... crap journalism at it's finest. Basically saying Lebron was auditioning for a 2010 New York move, and how he said before the game he might leave the Cavs at a moments notice ... when the actual quote was, "I'll do what's best to win multiple championships".

Yeah...Saw that too...Jokers...
I saw alot of movement going on with Bron out at the top of the 3 point line...
This D is top tier when they decide to kick up the energy level...Total slammin' the 2nd half...
All we need is that one STUD via trade with what we have to deal with...That will get Bron puttin' his $$$ where his mouth is...
Go Browns!!!

If this keeps up, the Cavs won't even need another "stud." Now, just keep everyone healthy.

although, before the game he tottally backed down from the, "I love Ohio, I love Cleveland, Im not going anywhere comment". If someone says, I'm not going anywhere one day, then a few weeks later says, I have to weigh my situation. Whats up with that?

On to tonight's game. I know it is hard to imagine, but do you think that this game could play an even bigger role than just the usaul fight for first place?
Will the winner of Tonight's Game have the inside track in landing McDyss?
It seems to me that if the cavs can come out with a statement at Detroit, on the second day of a back to back, and beat the pistons, that it might Sway McDyss into believing that the cavs offer a better chance for Dice to get a championship ring.
Just something to think about.

That comment he made was nice to hear, but it still comes down to the state of the team when his contract is up. If we win one, before then....he might stay and he might leave. If we don't, he'll probably leave. Simple. And I've always said I'd support his decision because I would probably do the same thing. I'd want to win a title...and if he feels it won't happen here, he has to move on. I won't begrudge him for that thinking. Don't get me wrong, I'd be totally depressed and on the ledge of the nearest building....but I couldn't hold it against him.
It just reinforces the need to get the freaking job done this or next year. Simple as that. I would actually not lose a single second of sleep if he left after giving Cleveland a title.

Interesting analysis, although I get the feeling that McDyess goes back to Dtroit.
I just hope people give perspective to tonite. Yes, this is a big game, but it's still very early and we obviously have the back to back.
Win or lose, it will be very interesting to see IF we can slow Iverson down. He has historically killed us, so I want to see if Mo/West/Boobie can slow him down. My main worry with him (that Billups wasn't able to do against us) is his ability to knife through the paint. He can really explode past crappy defense, while Billups would rather hang around on the perimeter or try and back down the defender on the ISOLATION. We can all live with Iverson making tough jumpers, but it will be frustrating if he just goes bolting past the defense at the top of the key.
Obviously he is a stud, so you can't totally keep him outta the paint, but if we can show tonite that we can consistently do it, I will be very optomistic about winning this division....

i'll say it now, just like i said it before, put zero stock into what lebron says...
was it coincidence he says this before they played the nets? or that he made those comments about staying to a cleveland crowd?
no.
lebron spoon feeds the person he's talking to. he tells them exactly what they want to hear.
the article made yesterday had no substance. lebron gave his usual political answer. the media took it and ran with it, i even loved the headline. it had nothing to do with the actual article. he says he'd leave if there were a situation for him to win championships? um, duh? don't we already know that?
people that think this guy's mind is already made up don't have a clue.
lebron is an athlete with the tongue of a politician.

Not many teams Ive liked beating more than the Pistons... for a time it was the Pacers...and before that the Bulls, but this contest tonight will go along way in setting the tone for the early stages of this season.

Legs look tired offensively right now. That, and we let AI start penetrating, which opens up everything else.
Lets see what we can do to end this

tough game tonight, still some time left, but it looks like this one may be over..
still, if this is how we're going to lose, late in ballgames, on the road, against elite teams (all 3 of our losses) i can live with that. that's how great teams go about their business.
the elite teams play well at home, so you just return the favor when they get to the q.

Kind of a weird game. Seemed like no one was even in the gym until the 4th. Man was that crowd quiet! Offense got stale in the 4th. Probably just tired legs, cause a lot of the shots looked short. I was a bit disappointed that the defense broke down on AI in the fourth. When he can start getting in the paint consistently, forget about it. Let's get another streak started on Saturday nite!
yeah, i won't get to see the game tomorrow, but I am interested to find out how Detroit plays at Boston tomorrow nite. Their turn to do the 2nd nite of a back to back on the road. They were able to win at LA last week on the 2nd nite of a back to back, if they can do it again at Boston tomorrow, that would be quite impressive...

cavs played great first half D and mid way through the third started to look very slow and tired... lebron got some rest to start the fourth, their lead evaporated...pistons took the lead with about 7 or so to play and with the crowd behind them never looked back

http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2008/11/brian_windhorsts_cavs_beat_blo.htmlOg, that is a link to Brian Windhorst's in-game blog that he keeps. For every game he does a pre game, half time, and then post gam wrap up. The post game wrap does not usually get posted until about an hr or 2 after the game. You can see up to halftime right now. Sorry man, I am just too lazy to hash it all out right now. Windy does a nice job...
