I've bought the last 2 editions of The Show. But I think with me buying both Killzone 2 and Street Fighter 4, I won't have time to play a 3rd game with The Show.
It is a great game, though. I was a little PO'd last year, because my friend had finally got his PS3, and kept talking about buying the game so we can play online. He said he was going to get it, so I pick up The Show, and wait for him to buy it, and wait, and wait, and wait, and he never buys it.
Watch, he'll buy it this year.

I have not played vegas 1....so i can't really compare....but vegas 2 is fun...i wanted to paly online with someone..... NOBODY has it?  someones gotta have it.

Sorry, I still think the Blueray should be optional, and until it comes down from 300 for a refurbished, I won't bother getting one. I've got better things to drop that kind of dough on.
I like the system and love the games, but the price is too much for my blood.

yah it's a little expensive....all i do is play NCAA on it...i dont even care about any other game...so you can say i spent 399+30 for NCAA lol just to play NCAA football 09...  O well it's fun

I do! And I suck! I used to be pretty good at SF2, but hadn't played in years. You can kick my ass sometime- PSN ID : Dawgpound I was playing it until Killzone came out. Then I've been completely addicted to it. I did get on the other night and play with a friend of mine, but he beat me up pretty badly.

I used to play SFII when I was a kid so I figured I would give it a shot, even though my gaming tastes have changed. SFII really was one of my favorite games of all time. But man, this game looks great, and stays true to the old game. I suck too, real bad, I only remember Ken and Ryus moves and a few other random moves for the other guys. I know, the only time I've really played online was with Dawgpound and Free agent, but the people online are always pretty good, which is good competition. Not online that much as of late because finals are here, but I'll add you guys to my buddylist so maybe we can get some time in. Maybe we can start a clan if most people on here don't already have one, remember practice makes perfect BrownsFan!

I don't have a clan, so I wouldn't mind. I only have one friend who has a PS3, and he reserved Killzone, but hasn't had the money to pick it up.
I told him to sell his games, donate plasma, rob a gas station, something, so he can pick it up. Great game.

i just played the demo of it the other day....i use to love FPS...but i got out of it....and this game really got me going...i would def buy it if i had a job right now lol...

The campaign mode is top notch, and the online play is addictive. Today was the first day that I haven't played it since I've bought it, which was because I decided to watch a movie when I got home from work instead.

Everyone that has Killzone 2 add "Jackfatty" as a freind. He is my brother (and a Browns fan as well!!!). He plays just about everyday and we both would be up to joining a clan.

Big PS3 Price Cut Set for April
This rumor's pretty dubious, but several blogs are reporting that Sony plans to cut the PlayStation 3's price tag by $100 in April. That would put the 80GB PS3 at $300. The source: an analyst at Wedbush Morgan who's also saying that Microsoft will chop $50 off the Xbox 360 Pro around E3 2009 (in June), putting that system at $250.
When it comes to gaming systems, price drops are the equivalent of an economic stimulus plan, and breaking $300 would obviously make the PS3 attractive to a whole new batch of consumers, regardless of poor economic conditions. Price points are price points and things start getting pretty magical when you get under $300 (and in the case of the Xbox 360, $250 is even better).
Naturally, it doesn't take a rocket scientist--or an analyst at an investment firm--to figure any of this out. And giving yourself a nice four-month buffer to predict a price drop doesn't exactly impress. But people love to speculate on this sort of stuff, and with word that Sony will report a big $1.1 billion operating loss for 2007/2008 (its first operating loss in 14 years), the pressure's on Sony to rev up its Playstation 3 franchise for the health of the company and its Blu-ray platform (yes, the PS3 has a built-in Blu-ray player, lest you forgot).
The good news is Sony has a number of highly anticipated exclusive titles coming to the PS3 this year, including Killzone 2, Infamous, Heavy Rain, MAG, God of War 3, Uncharted 2, and MLB 09: The Show. Combine that with a $100 price cut and the PS3 should get a nice jumpstart--whenever it comes. But nothing's a given these days and clearly Sony has to balance taking a loss on the hardware to spur profits on the software (game) side.
Is $300 a magic price point for the PS3? As always, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
Note: After this story posted, Sony reps called to tell me that the company had no plans for a price drop and that the Wedbush Morgan analyst's speculation was based on his own conjecturing, nothing more. Mine too. That would give me all 3...although the Wii is more for the kids. The games I like to play are hard to play with the remote and nunchuk set up...plus the graphics are inferior. I do wanna get that WiiFit though...anyway.
I've never particularly cared for the Playstation controller, being an ex Dreamcast owner, but, they've got some games I want to play, plus the Blu Ray thing.

Killzone!!!!
I saw an ad for Best Buy that if you buy a PS3, you had your choice of a free game. There were 3 choices- one was Killzone 2, the other was MLB The Show 09. I THINK the 3rd was Little Big Planet.
Regardless, all 3 are awesome games. I own Killzone and LBP and have played both a ton, and own The Show '07 and '08. Best baseball series ever if you're into it.

instead of cutting prices on the consoles, how about slashing the costs of the games.
60 bones is ridiculous.
i refuse to pay 60 for a game.
i get hooked up, but i also look for deals, 60 bucks for a game, especially a sports game which is obsolete in a year, is just unfair.
games should be 40 bucks. sports games 30.

i agree....i got lucky all the games i bought were on sale because of black friday....haven't bought one since...but i do wanna buy killzone 2..can't wait till black friday again..

ebay and amazon marketplace are good places to buy games.
sometimes you can get a good deal on a brand new sealed game on ebay too.

eBay is your friend.
I used to buy used games on eBay for half price, play them for 3-4 weeks and then sell them back on eBay for close to what I paid. Even if I lost $10, it was worth the length of time I had the game to play.

Well, I FINALLY did it. I joined the next generation of gaming.
The "big" price drop rumor was announced today and it was for the PS2, not the PS3. So I bought a PS3 from the SonyStyle website to get their $100 off deal. With tax, my PS3 will come out to $329. Not bad. If Sony wasn't going to announce a price cut now, it won't happen until June at E3 (or July). And I couldn't wait any longer.
Soooo....games.
Madden 09 - I haven't bought a Madden since 2001
Skate and Skate 2 - I'm a skater (or was one a long time ago)
GTA 4 - Automatic buy
MGS - Worth the $$$?
The Show '09 - Any players out there?
Killzone 2 - Best FPS on the PS3 or so I've heard

I don't own 09 The Show, but I have 08 and 07, and the game is awesome. I'm sure 09 is improved and better than ever. Well worth the money. The only reason I didn't buy it this year was I had the last 2, and I wanted to get Street Fighter 4 and Killzone 2....
....speaking of which. Killzone 2 is an awesome game. Great online, great offline, outstanding graphics and lighting effects.
If you want a good game with some great looking graphics that may be cheaper to buy because it's older, try out Uncharted. The sequel is due out at Christmas, and it was my favorite game prior to getting Killzone. It's an action/adventure game, maybe a little like Resident Evil but with different atmosphere and elements.

I would go with Call of Duty 4 if you want a FPS. But Killzone 2 is great also.
09 The Show is off the charts, by far the best baseball game of all time. Its my first year with the Show and I wish I could have played the years before.

Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same position you're in right now. With a crap ton of good games coming out this year I just had to have them namely, MGS4, Killzone2, Resistance2, etc. With other expenses and such, it's just killing me not to get Mlb the show 09 seeing as how I have last year's version just like you. But really, how different can it be from 08? maybe updated rosters(which you can obtain online from websites) maybe better graphics?

Welp, the console shipped and I'm gunning for 2-3 games to delivered around the same time. I got Madden 09 for $20 and Killzone 2 for $35 on eBay. I have to wait a few days for the Skate auctions I'm watching (should go near $10).
MGS4, The Show 09 and maybe Hot Shots next month.

I just picked up Guitar Hero: Metallica yesterday. I've been jamming for two nights now. Nothing new as far as features go....but if you like Metallica and GH, I'd definitely recommend it.
I'm a big fan of this year's madden. The first couple ps3 maddens stunk it up pretty good, but I like this one. It will take some adjusting, though. It's a LOT different than ps2.

I did see that. I didn't buy Round 3, but owned the first 2 on PS2. I'm hoping they put Kelly Pavlik in it. Just missed him the other day, speaking of Pavlik.... took my kid to the doctor's office, and he asked me if I saw him. Apparently he was there with his kid a minute before I came in.
