I would like to take my old vhs tapes footage, put them on to my computer and or turn them into cds.I know the obvios solution would be to buy a dvd /vhs player and record. However I would like to do this without buying something I will use once.Is there a way to do this? Thanks

I am not a techno-geek, so I do not know if this can be done at all without the proper equipment,...so I assume you're going to pay one way or another.

Buy the machine as you stated and then re-sell it on e-Bay,....??

Rent a machine,....??

Take your tapes to a professional service,...??

Hopefully somebody on the board can be of real help. Good luck.

i dont know anything about computers but maybe you could,

buy a cord that you can run from your video out on your vcr to a computer.

play the tape and record on a computer (assuming there is a program out there for this)

burn the programd to a dvd from a computer, can this be done?

Admanager to the rescue.

LOL. Your best bet is to find a local company that will do this for you. No matter what you will need to buy something for this one time use.

Whether it's a software program and/or a pci component that inputs an anolog signal to do it on the PC or buying a vhs/dvd recorder combo.

There should be many companies that you can take/send it vhs tapes to make the conversion for you for a fee. It will probably be cheaper than you doing it yourself if you don't have the equipment already.

Unless there is some vhs tapes you don't want anyone to see.

$69 for a VHS to DVD machine, and I have the DVD player hooked up to the bedroom TV in case we want to watch a movie in bed.
