We all have a investment in PSL's.
Last night I was wondering at what point I wouldn't worry about the $3000 I paid for the two seats if I couldn't sell the seats and no longer wanted to purchase tickets??
I am not yet to that point, but you never know as time goes on. I know I won't be happy if ticket prices continue to climb and we never seem to manage to climb the standings ladder.
Just wondering about some of you??

We've been discussing that ourselves. I don't think we are at a point where we want to sell our PSLs, but I can imagine reaching that point should this continue as it has since the team returned

What a first year to have PSLs eh?
We plan on keeping them as long as we can continue to sell about 4 games a year. I have to admit I almost feel guilty having to collect money for yesterdays tickets after the way they played.

I sort of feel the same way....I am going to have to cook some people a big shrimp dinner and keep some beer in their hand for a few hours next year.

It's not really a big deal for us since we go to every game. Plus, we have a couple of people who are essentially on "permanent standby" who will come to the game if one or both of us can't go.
But it's not usually a problem since we base our lives around going to the games...for some reason.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

I've long since paid for my PSL's in money I've saved not buying tix on eBay anymore. GOD! THAT was expensive!
As for tix, this year I sold the season to kingo, and if he's interested, I'll sell him next years too. Otherwise, I'll sell them game by game, but I'll sell them before the season starts. You know, just in case we have no improvements in the off season, strike while people are still excited, but before any let down

I guess I never really looked at my PSL costs as an "investment" per se. I pretty much chalked it up as the price of admission toward being a season ticket holder and nothing more. Overall, I'm not too worried about it for the following reasons: 1. My son and I go to every game, so the ability to sell tickets isn't an issue right now 2. Being a season ticket holder was one of my "Bucket List" items, so I'm happy going to the games regardless of how the team plays. I mean, I'm disappointed when they lose (particularly the way they looked YESTERDAY). However, we always have a really good time anyway. 3. I bought my seats for about half of what the Browns were charging for the same seats (this was four seasons ago). Consequently, if the time does come to sell, I like my chances of coming out even or ahead.

Oh...I understand that....when I say invested, it wasn't to imply it was an "investment" in that sense.
I am kind of like Babe...I am about at the point where I could just walk away and not feel like I wasted $3000. Once the money is gone, it is gone is my way of thinking
I probably need to hang in at least a couple of more years to wash all of those thoughts out of the system.
And like her.....I try to sell to people I know early in the season, like the day the schedule is released....it doesn't take me long to plot out my gameplan as to which games I want to attend...for budget purposes...it is usually 1 game a month with one month going to two games......I figure if they are scrambling to buy tickets from the Browns, I can offer up better seats without a hassle.

Gotcha... Look at it this way: assuming we have a new HC for 2009, it would probably be worth checking in for another season or two just to see what happens.

Yeah... isn't it funny how the NFL off-season is JUST long enough for the bitterness of a lousy season to give way to some level of optimism (founded our unfounded)?

Sure, you can buy the playoff tickets for this year...No refunds though. Shoot me a PM and assuming they aren't raising the rates this year, it'll be the same price etc.

I posted this in an earlier thread but my thoughts are that if something isn't done to the staff or FO before next season then I'm probably gonna sell my PSLs.
I don't think that in good conscience I can spend all that ticket money on a team that doesn't give a rat's ass if they put a decent product on the field. And that is what they would be saying if the status quo is not altered.
I will still go to an occasional game (if this happens) and I'll watch all the others on TV when I can. But I can't fully invest myself in a team that doesn't care about the product they put out there for us.

Luckily - or perhaps not – I only 'waste' money on NFL Ticket to see the Browns game every week. I can't imagine spending what it must require, in order to see the same crap year in and year out at CBS. Gawd I feel sorry for some of 'ya!

Very true. I've been thinking about it since they came back and have yet to do it myself.

Me too. I would have bought them a few years ago but couldn't push myself past the PSL fee.
I feel bad for season ticket holders. The Browns have put them in quite a dillemma. - Try unnsuccessfully to sell the PSL to break even. Or, take your losses and discontinue to buy tickets.

I don't think I'll take a loss if I do decide to sell my PSLs. It's the NFL. There is always someone willing to buy the tickets/PSLs. That's part of the reason why the Browns don't HAVE to put a winning team on the field. Lerner can still make a pretty penny without a decent team.

You might be right. But, then again, given the economy, combined with the team's reputation, you may have a hard tim finding somebody to pay 1,000 for a couple PSL's. -That's if you paid 1,000 for a couple PSL's. Most people I know paid a 1,000 psl fee per seat.

Mine were $1500 per seat.....a private sale, but I didn't pay over what the Browns charge for the same seat.
PSL fees are $1500 per seat....$70 a seat per game.

oh they're more than that for some of the seats. Mine are/were 2k per seat and are 120 per seat per game. And I know others that are more than double that.
If it gets to the point where clients won't appreciate them...and that point is coming...then I will ssss....I will sssss
Oh crap I'll just buy them...but I may bring a HANG ART type sign with me to each game.

I am lucky and my season tickets are with Blade in the pound so no PSL fee and that's the only reason I'm able to get season tickets. The price is just right too at $450, though after this year I think wish Browns should give some of it back, or reduce the ticket cost increase back to 2007 prices after this years debacle That will never happen though. I wonder after the kind of year we have had if any pound seats will open up. They have never been available to purchase as a new ticket holder for as long as I can remember. I would love to throw my hands up and say to the Browns that I refuse to spend another dime until they give me a reason to, but I love this damn team and really do enjoy going to games no matter what kind of year it is. As long as I can afford the tickets (and am still in the area) I will continue to buy em every year I think. BTW, Michelle/Jules, if you guys ever do wanna sell your seats let me know b/c they are perfect IMO. Perfect vantage point, aisle seats, and not like your climbing Mt. Everest to get to the damn row. Michelle, check your PM too.

LOL, I've got a list started for our seats when and if we sell. Actually, I don't literally have a list, but someone else said he would want them earlier this season. They are pretty decent seats, so I doubt we would have much trouble if we ever do decide to get rid of them.

Until this team can show some promise and follow through, I just can't and won't do it. Much easier to just wait and then get the tix for free.

I have 3 seats but only paid for one PSL. The guy I bought the seats with has fallen off the earth I don't know where he is. 6 years ago he asked me if I wanted to pay for em, I did. With his permission I changed all the Locker Room info (address and email) into my name except the PSL. I guess if he ever sells it I could sue for keeping it alive, but I'm sure he thinks he lost em.
My PSL was $250 no big deal. I'll keep it as long as I can make the walk or sell em.

If you have had fair use of the tickets in that time, I don't know what you could sue for.
Pretty strange story.....makes you wonder if the guy died and his family/estate didn't know about the seats, or if he is sitting in some prison cell somewhere.
Weird

Hmm.. I havent really considered this much lately. I paid 750.00 for mine and my ex bro in law has the seat next to me.. we split up the season.. one week I take both and the next week he takes both. So, I go to a minimum of 4 home games (more if I do bus trips or buy single game tickets like I did for the Giants MNF) what our set up does is makes it much more affordable for me, 4 games instead of 8. Going to a game is easily a $100 dollar day with gas, food, beer and so on. My son has already asked me for my PSL and he plans to buy out my ex bro in laws PSL / seat because his 2 daughters dont give a flip about football. So I guess when I retire and move south, they are his. One thing, I paid 750 in 3 installments of 250 and my PSL's are worth (after calling the ticket office real quick) $1,125.00 today so, I suppose my investment is doing okay. Just wish the product was better.

I'm such a football junkie, I don't see us ever selling our PSLs, at least as long as we can afford it.
We're kind of up in the nosebleeds, so it isn't a terrible price.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

I dont think I would want to sell my PSL, I love going to the games and supporting the team, I'm none to thrilled with the preformance on the field, but I'll still be a Browns Fan come hell or highwater, and for me attending the games up in my nose bleed seats is all a part of that.

I didn't read every single post - so forgive me if it's been stated, but you don't have to chose between $3,000 and nothing. The PSL is yours and you can sell them for whatever you want.
Even if you can't get full price I'd imagine there's a market for them at $1,500.
And if it gets worse than that PM me I like drinking beer and smoking cigars all Sunday whatever happens in the stadium

Thanks....I am aware they can be sold...I was going on the track of if demand shrunk the market due to a bad team and a faltering economy.

I had psl's last year. Lucky for me they went 7-1 at home. Maybe I should buy again and change their luck around huh?
