My husband just called me, his Mom is in the ER. She was at work (at a nurse in a hospital), making rounds with a doctor. She said to him "I can't breathe" and she fell to the floor. That's about all the info that we know right now. Here's the kicker, John's Dad is legally blind and can't drive, so he can't even drive to the hospital to be with his wife. Heck, he can't even drive down the road for a gallon of milk. So, John will more than likely be heading to West Virginia tonight for an indefinite stay. Dad's supposed to have some surgery on his eye next Friday, so he may need to stay there for that.

My mother-in-law is being treated for blood pressure issues, so my guess, is that what happened today is related (issues with a new med or something). Anyway, please send good thoughts and prayers to my mother-in-law. Thanks in advance all.

God has already fought your battle and conquered your enemies! He’s already paved the way to victory. When you maintain an attitude of faith and expectancy, you are moving forward on that path. Remember, when difficulties arise, focus on the fact that the Greater One lives inside of you. As the scripture says, “Be of good cheer!” because what you are going through will eventually be over, and you’ll come through stronger, wiser, more alive, and better off than you were before!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect peace. I choose to have an attitude of faith and expectancy, knowing that You have victory in store for me because I walk uprightly before You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Small update: Mom-in-law was kept overnight for observation and testing. They think she may have had a really mild stroke. I didn't know it until last night, but I guess her whole left side went numb in addition to the not breathing thing. She seems to be ok now, no speach issues and the numbness is fading away.

We've been trying to convince his parents to move back up this way for while, now we'll probably press harder than we have. We can't just hop in the car, drive 5 hours just to tend to his father (especially with a baby now), and his mother can be a nurse anywhere - always in demand.

(ok, that last little bit was a small venting session for myself.)

It's ok sweetie, understand completely. Glad to hear that she's doing better. She will probably have a bit of word ephasia from the sounds of it. Hope that you and John can get them to move closer to you..... Akron area would be good for them with all the hospitals in the area. Plus there's the Society for the Blind on Market near downtown that can help your f-i-l.

No test results back yet (labs closed for the weekend), but m-i-l is home now. Having some slight issues with typing (since her right side went numb...I initially thought it was the left side). Good thing she's left-handed though. She's just mad she can't play her dulcimers.
