I loved this thread on the main Browns website board and want to know what would you guys like to see new in Madden 2008?
I want to see more equipment options like more REVO helmets, and wristsbands and etc.

It's not gonna be called Madden 08 he'll be dead by then. Then what do they name it Michaels 08? I've always wondered.
I would actually like to see a type of home field advantage there is no difference between home or away

Things I'd like: Assists count on tackles. I've been wanting that one for years now lol. When I have a RB like LT who's got 99 awareness and he runs a route of bounds that just pisses me off lol. A TV segment weekly like how the 2k series used to do with Sportscenter. In-season scouting. Weather actually making a difference.(playing in snow, rain etc. makes passing harder) Stop with the incredible plays the CPU gets on All-Madden or when you start building a lead. I'll come back for more.

Is it just me, or does the superstar mode NOT have commentating? I would like to see an option that lets you pick what type of player you want to be and gives your preffered teams's needs so I don't have to create 25 superstars so I can get them DRAFTED by the browns. Had to win two superbowls with the ravens, before I decline dtheir offer and signed with Cleveland!

It's supposed to be that way. You're a player on the field ... not "watching" the game like in other modes.

Save right before the draft and reload. I think it picks randomly, but it also might be based slightly on team needs. So if you're a TE or something, the Browns might not draft you.
Things I'd like to see ...
More realism I guess. Like when there's 30 seconds left on the clock and the defense has no timeouts, then the players and coaches go to shake hands, rather than you just sitting there waiting for time to expire under center.
Along those same lines, I'd love to have a "fast forward" button, that lets you run the clock down quickly, rather than having to sit there for 30 seconds before snapping the ball. Or if you want to go more realistic, they should just take 25 seconds off the clock when you call a play.
Also another feature to consider during Superstar Mode ... if you get picked for the Madden Cover, your injury rating should automatically drop 50 points for the next season.

More face mask options, more tattoos to choose, like complete sleeve tats like Tucker & K2...I would like to see weekly Sportscenter updates, and highlights, i don't care for Tony Bruno radio crap....

Turn on accelerated clock. It runs every play(excluding the last 2 mins of each half) down to 20 seconds left on the play clock.

One thing that annoys me about Madden as well as NCAA is the difficulty settings. It's too easy to beat the computer on anything but Madden (Heisman for NCAA) but when you up the difficulty to Madden the computer can do some ridiculous things. I like the challenge but get really pissed when it does something that isn't really plausible.

i want a Really in depth superstar mode like thoose practices get boring after a while...
and i want a camera view of being behind the defense, on defencive plays in single player.

Tony Bruno even sucks in real life! I do want those sleeve tatoos also. And I wish you could here the players trash talking when you turn off commentary and go to Player Chatter or whatever it's called..

there are a few things that have bugged me about madden over the past few years...
when you throw the ball to one of your receivers, and he's anywhere near the sidelines, it seems like the AI still has control of the receiver, and he just runs out of bounds and kills what would have been a big play... i hate doing that on quick passes, what could have been a 7 yard gain went for a yard...
and as far as xbox 360 madden goes, they've got to improve their online, the 2007 version really lags... i stopped playing online because i just couldn't win, it was bugging me way too much...
i'd like to see the crowd noise become a factor... not so much like with ncaa 2006 where your controller rumbled when the crowd got on you... that's not realistic... but have the crowd really get into it when a key moment is up, when the game is late, when the defense gets a big stop, when the coach is deciding whether to go for it on 4th and 1....

I want to see...
the ability to edit players/created players.
home field advantage
classic stadiums (downloadable content)
counting assists would be nice
as bad as John Madden's voice is, it's better than the radio coverage!
easier ways to do the 40!!! I'm always tripping lol!
more achievements like NCAA..... The achievements now, all you have to do is simulate with all teams and you get them all... It's too easy and I want to earn them. But to earn these I would have no life because I would have to play it for 2 years straight. a SS at every position and a 30 yr. dynasty!

I just put this in the other thread about superstar mode but it works here also.
I would like to see you not have to watch or play the whole game in superstar mode. It would be nice to just skip to the parts of the game where you are on the field.

or maybe break down the gameplan between you being on the field...
like if you're a quarterback, you go through what kind of blitz packages they've shown you, how much pressure they're applying... if the defensive backs are cheating up, if one receiver is getting double teamed...

I would like to see Madden not have any "poster boys" on the game...
1) Reggie Bush - The guy is a rookie and breaks more tackles than a convict escaping alcatraz...
2) Shawn Merriman - The guy can not be everywhere on the field... he never misses tackles... he always catches the INT.. ITS ANNOYING!!
I also get tired of those fast QB's(Vick, Young, etc.) not fumbling the ball as much when they get "hit sticked"... and i also get tired of those gay fumbles when the QB accidently does a dive as suppose to sliding..
BRING BACK THE BLOCK CONTROL!!! i dont want a highlight stick... i want to hit the analog stick and tell one of my teammates to block for me..
BRING BACK THE HURDLE!!! that button was key to an excellent running game... I dont want to be running and a guy dive and jump at my feet, and then his hand trips me up for the tackle.. GAY!!
Other than that.. I just want an updated roster.. lol.. and release the game right before week 1 of the regular season when the teams have their 53 man roster... and also put all the draft picks on the game.. they should not be free agents!! and also.. GET PICTURES OF THE BROWNS PLAYERS!! Im playing ps2.. and im tired of not seeing Braylon's picture.. and then they had Wimbley's picture, but could not say his name... "number 95 with the sack"..no madden!! WIMBLEY WITH THE SACK!!! i hate that..

i would like to see them bring back the training camp mini games that they had in all the madden's leading up to this one, i'm not sure if they still have it on the playstation or xbox versions, but the 360 has just a few games... and i don't like the games that are just you lifting weights or running...
i loved that they had camps in different cities, the pocket presence mini game was the best, with the cannons shooting the mini balls at you, while you had to make a quick decision on which target to hit...
you did the drill and then they gave you the chance to apply those skills in game situations.. you did the pocket presence drill, and then you had to run a 2 minute drill in a real-time game situation...
that part of the game was as good as playing the game itself...
i'm also tired of the big name rookies being awesome in the game... they should have to develop just like everyone else, they should still have great skills... but i agree, reggie bush shouldn't be barry sanders, maybe after you build him up after a few seaons, but not right off the bat...

I want better injury scenes. I want players crowding around to pray and stuff like that, they shouldn't always get up on their own. And if its really severe have a stretcher and medical staff come out to help. The more realistic the better.

I would like to see EA start over from scratch. Build it from the ground up and actually make a good football game.
I would also like to see them end the exclusive deal with the NFL so there is competition. This way, EA can't get away with making a mediocre game every year.

i disagree about building up from the bottom, the game now is very good
i agree about having some competition, just to force them to clean up the small things and polish it into a better game, the base is great, but there is so much potential for it to be better, and without competition, ea has gotten lazy with the small stuff, which is just as important..
it would also benefit us gamers, because the price would drop on these games with competition...
i don't mind paying 60 bucks for a game that will give you years of replay value, but sports games become obsolete once the next season starts...
30-40 dollars is what you should be paying for a sports game on these next-gen systems...

I'd like to have size take some account in the game.
Like, a 5'11 QB's stock drops in the draft, or a 190 pound RB can't take 400 carries.
Or a 370 pound DT having to get double teamed. Anything like that.

that's a really good point, i hate when i'm playing with the browns and t-dub doesn't get double teamed... although to my benefit he makes more tackles than he does in real life

That would be a welcome addition. On big games or championships have dawg bones rain down from from the stands like in the 80's.

Bring back owner mode... or at least make it so you can play as the team. If the coach doesn't do well, you still get to play as the team  You know... because I don't want to have Crennel as HC forever on that game.

They do have Owner Mode. But you can't hire/fire a coach until the offseason of your franchise. They still have Owner Mode Offseason, and Owner's Box.

two things i would love to see that i didn't see already listed...
1. bring back the expansion draft option.
that was always fun to just run the draft even if you didn't keep the team. I nice way to break up the game experience. althout super star is decent too. 1a - can you have more than one superstar? if not, they need to change that.
2. I could be wrong about this one, so please clue me in if i am....
But durning Franchise mode, with much love and time put in, can you up the difficulty level without starting over??????? if not this i a major change needed.

Or any stands for that matter, I mean the same TD jump gets annoying after awhile you know?
I wish when you play as a classic team, they have the rosters filled with player names and right equipment.(I had to edit the whole '87 Browns classic team)
