They do have Owner Mode. But you can't hire/fire a coach until the offseason of your franchise. They still have Owner Mode Offseason, and Owner's Box.

I'd like to see the Browns actually be good.

I think that they need to bring back Madden's korny lines from 02 such as;
" You wanna lead the receiver so he can catch and run but you don't wanna lead him that much"

I agree they need new commentators or just some more lines during the game. What would be cool if they got most of the boardcasters from FOX, CBS, and ESPN to broadcast thier own games instead of having Madden/Michaels evey game. Like if you an AFC team you have Nantz/Simms, Enberg/Cross...or if your and NFC team you have Buck/Aikman, or others...And when you have Monday Night Game in your franchise, you have Tirico/Kornheiser/Theismann..except leave out Theismann

I would like to see postion coaches added in franchise mode
Gang tackles ( I read somewhere that they were adding this for sure)
Pre-game, halftime, post-game, and a weekly show(like sportscenter on 2K)
More injuries to user players and have IR open a roster spot
More realistic Training Camp to be able to improve the whole team, maybe kinda like on Head Coach.
Be able to have the 80 player roster(or however many it is) for preaseason and have to make cuts( then maybe people will actually play the preseason games)
Improved Superstar Mode
More logos to use, be able to move a team and use original logo on the helmet(that way you don't have to change the logo)
Improved player scouting for rookies
have more players from NCAA to be able to be drafted when you export the rosters
make it so that player ratings change according to offensive and defensive systems(especially defense)
cpu trade offers, and trades with user and the other cpu teams
...I have more but can't think of any right now

I'd like to see the players be sifted out in Alphabetical order to make it easier to find the missing rookie, free agents or journeyman that was put on another team..
Practice squads added
A snap accuracy meter for punts and fg's
An easy way to sub in a total second and third string...
More tackle and pre snap animations
Customizeable celebrations...of course at the risk of 15 yd penalties if you do it..

Because other than for progressions, There isnt much of a reason for the preseason.
Gang tackling would be nice.
Less QB fumbles. How often do you see a QB run get hit and fumble. Sure it happens from time to time, but not one in every five times i scramble.

Gameplanning they do have but, it needs upgraded. For a Sports show during the week, instead of the "Tony Bruno Show" have like the NFL Network or something show. They do have the exclusive NFL license don't they?

I don't know how you would change this but..... I played the Browns for 1 season, and the WHOLE offensive line went to the pro bowl. Now I can't replace them, because the game boosted their attributes and they are the best O-line in the game. The only reason I did franchise is so I could see what it would be like to replace them.

For example, I hate when I'm playing someone online, and they are running a Prevent or something, and I'm running a dive, and it goes for 1 yard. Or, when I'm passing, and they are in goal line, but somehow no one is open. Also, I hate how often a receiver will come down with a long ball when he is double covered, or when you throw a deep ball to a 6'6 receiver with a 5'10 corner on him, and it gets picked off.

Here are a few that I thought of earlier today:
Weekly practices to give a small boost to player attributes, but also give a chance for players to get injured (there aren't enough injuries to user teams and boosting up the AI for injuries sometimes makes too many injuries).
More attributes for players, such as composure(would affect accuracy when the pressure is on), short medium and long throw accuracy (like on Head Coach), and others like that.
No overall player ratings. This would make people have to evaluate the type of player they want, rather than getting the highest overall rated players.
If they keep overall player ratings, i'd like to see the ratings change based upon the offensive or defensive scheme. (ex: Jeff Garcia should be a good WCO QB, but not good in any other system).
Have coaches specialize in different schemes.
Have roles play more of an impact. Team distractions should sometimes demand a trade or holdout for a better contract.
When using the NCAA draft classes, have every player that graduated and left as a junior available to be drafted. (Some players aren't available to be drafted, many of which I had planned on drafting).
Better Rookie Scouting, instead of you controlling them have the cpu do it and you can evaluate. Also have the combine and individual workouts that will determine where a player is slated to be drafted. In other words, they'd allow players to raise their stock or drop it.
Some of these i may have put in another post in this thread, but whatever. Basically, I just want it to be as realisitic as possible in gameplay and offseason.

Just thought of something when they were showing a replay of my QB getting drilled and hurt Have Madden do the little yellow circles and lines like they do in real-life TV... I'm out of ideas like everybody else..

I know this is a Madden 08 thread, but has anyone unlocked Marion Motley and put him at HB, he's unstoppable. I always try to predict our free agency period with Madden, rihgt now I have Jamal Lewis and Marion Motley splitting carries. As of now Motley's averaging about 11 yards a carry, down from his real life stat,lolol.
