Who is out there that is available for us to sign? I honestly can't think of any veterans that are available for us to sign.. We need someone now that we are just down to Dorsey though.

Cribbs is our emergency QB. Our #2 is a guy named Rick Bartell or something.

Only a few come to mind for me. Some of them are kinda young too so we could keep one of em on if we part ways with Anderson next year.
Jake Plummer, Chris Simms, Bruce Gradkowski, Tim Rattay, Tyler Palko, Tim Hasselbeck, Max Guttierrez.
Really the season is over so I wouldn't mind picking up one or two of the youngsters and just grooming them and seeing what they got and keeping the best out of the two after the season.
I actually thought Gradkowski did a pretty stand up job when he got playing time in Tampa a few years ago. I wouldn't mind bringing him in, plus he's an Ohio guy.

I think Donte Stallworth should give it a shot. Might be the only way he can get his hands on the ball.

You mean Gruden hasn't signed all of these guys..................................................................yet?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Ive always liked Rattay since his Loiusina Tech days. The Browns have been bringen in some New England castoffs on the defensive side, maybe Max Guittierrez?
We will probabley see some more of that Wildcat offense with Josh Cribbs.

Cribbs can take all the snaps all I care... I'm sure he's bound to get atleast one TD w/ his feet. Thats more TD's than we have had in the past couple of games.

Nah that would take imagination and creativity. Something that does not exist in this coaching staff.
I was thinking though. What if they did put Cribbs at QB and he just came in and lit it up? Would we have a QB controversy??

I asked the same question last week but it seemed rather far fetched that we would get that far.. after losing Anderson yesterday, perhaps for the year, it all of a sudden doesn't sound so impossible.....
I don't care who's back there as long as we win....

Gradkowski's name jumps off the list. He played at Toledo, so he's familiar with the weather.
Go for it.

Remember the few snaps Cribbs took in camp and connected for a 40+ among others??
Cribbs has performed above expectations for years and deserves a start as a reward if nothing else.

That would be crazy if he did get a start at QB before the end of the season. That would probably be another dream for him.
Cribbs... for future reference...

Seems I have read Zastudill is our emergency QB....they have probably had him working the emergency set of 20 or so plays since camp on a on and off basis.....more on as of now.

Seasons over, Dorsey & Cribbs and this Practice squad player will finish out the season. Why go out and pay some Veteran a million dollars to stand on the sideline just in case for a meaning less game. Save the money for next year. ...I'm going hunting Sunday, not gonna waste my time.

They should give Cribbs alot of snaps. For one, it would keep the players interested. Two, we can give other players a chance to do Cribbs old duties like returning and gunner. Give players the oppurtunities, so when the occasion arises, they would be ready.
It would also mean that Cribbs deserves more then $1million a year, but he has already proven that.

I've heard that "The Polish Cannon" Gradkowski is in town today too - WKNR is reporting it as well.
As a former TOLEDO student during the Gradkowski years I gotta believe he'd be better than Dorsey - admittedly, I am a little biased lol.
Sign him up Phil - give me something to hang onto for the last month!

I'm pretty sure that even if they signed him, he'd not start.. If he's so good, and this being a QB starved league, why is he still available.. I'm a little confused by that...

Well, he ain't no Marino I'll grant you that - and I'm sure if signed he wouldn't start right off the bat. But I'm also sure in a competition he'd beat out Dorsey. Would there be enough time for that to happen if he were signed today? Yeah, I'd say he'd start the final two games this season. Who the hell am I though - certainly no Nostradamus lol.
I'm just saying as a TOLEDO fan and a BROWNS fan in a miserable year for both of my teams - give me something to grasp onto at this point to finish out 2008.
Dorsey seems like a damn fine clipboard holder with caoching in his future. Gradkowski DOES make plays and is a scrapper. I like to think of him as a young Jeff Garcia.

LOL.....Gradkowski is unsigned during the football season, ....Ding Ding....What does that tell ya right there,
Gradkowski is unsigned when atleast 10 other teams will be looking to improve thier QB postion in the off season,
32 teams X 3 QB per team = 96 QB were signed and he wasnt....what does that say.
I live West of Toledo, I remember Gradkowski, good to excelllent MAC QB a few levels below Pennington, Ben....Ect. but nothing special, good arm, bad reads.
Dorsey will hand off to Lewis dink & dunk passes to our TE and screens to Harrison. With Dorsey in this might open up more oppurtunity for Harrison to play,

Dude - what part of what I'm writing isn't getting through?
Is he the greatest QB ever? Obviously not. Doeas it mean a thing that he's not on a roster right now - not really at this point. Leftwhich wasn't on a roster at the start of the year - Culpepper wasn't on a roster at the start of the year - if they were available at this point would you take them right now in the chance that you may be able to field an offense? I would. Gradkowski is the best remaining out there.
Can he play better than Dorsey, yeah I think he can. No one knows if it's true - I think he can though. And I, as I said, am biased because I saw the kid play and win.
I'm not saying if they sign him he's going to put up 400 yards and 4 TD's a game - I'm saying sign him because I want him lol.
Give me SOMETHING to hang onto for this last month of football.

With the Browns struggling on 3-5, Anderson took the fall and Quinn came in, only for a broken finger to end his season after three starts.
With Anderson back under centre, he then suffered a knee injury during Sunday's defeat against the Colts, leaving the Browns without their top two triggermen.
Third-choice Ken Dorsey took over on Sunday, and he will start his first game since 2005 when he lines up against the 11-1 Tennessee Titans this weekend.
The news is another bitter blow for the struggling Browns, who will now have kick returner Joshua Cribbs, who played at QB at College, as Dorsey's back-up against the Titans, unless a seasoned veteran can be signed in time.
Former Tampa Bay man Bruce Gradkowski will work out with the Browns in Ohio this week, but the onus will still be on Dorsey against the formidable Titans defence.
Dorsey's last NFL start also came against the Titans, coming for San Francisco in 2005, when he went 2-8 as the starter for the 49ers.

Dorsey is going to light it up, finish 3-1 (we couldn't beat the Steelers with Jack Bauer at QB).. then we will trade DA and have a QB controversy in the offseason between Quinn and Dorsey.

I wasnt coming down on you or anybody, just stating the obvious, didnt want anybody thinking he was more than what he is.

Stephen LeFlors? He was the QB before Brohm so I am assuming thats him. He was drafted by Carolina in the 4th. I remember thinking he would be one of those late round steals that would develop and take over for Delhomme. Unfortunately he was out after a few years. I thought the same thing with David Greene too.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Nope,, That's not his name.. Ok,, I guess I'm gonna have to go look,,,, EDIT: Well, It clearly wasn't someone drafted by the Cowboys... so that's not the answer... and checking thier all time roster,, I didn't hit on a name that rings a bell... I clearly have the wrong school and the wrong NFL team... It's a goofy day I guess.
