My triceps and forearms are sore like I went to the gym.
Must have been from the one game of boxing I did.
I must be really out of shape to get sore from that!

I bought a 2nd controller today for the Wii and I was just looking at games online and saw that you get a controller with the Wii Play game and it's just $10 more. Should I return the controller I bought and pay the difference to get the Wii Play game?

Honestly, the game is fun for about 10 minutes...maybe 30 for kids. I would save the $10. I bought the bundle and haven't played the game in over a year. Let me know if you want to "rent" it from me.

Thanks for the input. None of the games on it look like they'll be too much fun, so I think I'm just gonna keep the controller.

Thanks!

A while back, a lot of people on this board were really liking the Wii fit. 6months to year down the road now, I would like to hear what people still think about it. Has anyone really stuck with it and seen whether it can be effective??

I got Mario Kart for Christmas as well as the Indiana Jones Lego game. I haven't played Indiana Jones yet, but I really liked the Star Wars Lego game I have for Playstation 2.

Mario Kart is a blast! I need to get another wheel so the wife and I can battle.

Awesomely entertaining game though!

So far, Rock Band 2 has been an absolute blast.

My wife and I have been playing the Indiana Jones Lego Game, too. Man, that's a ton of fun. She really likes it since it is an easier game, you don't have a "set" number of lives, etc. It's a fun game to play together.

We played that Raving Rabbids, or whatever the heck it is, this past weekend with some friends. That's pretty fun, too, although we need a bigger room for it!

Mario Kart has been fun, too. We had my 70 year old mother-in-law play it with my 54 year old mother this past weekend. You want to talk about entertaining. My mother-in-law was going the wrong way about 75% of the time. The U-Turn sign would come up, so she'd do a whole 360 degree turn and end up going back the wrong way. I couldn't stop laughing.

RB2 is a great game, my brother got me hooked on it when I was home for Christmas. Man that tax refund can't get here soon enough.

My 7 year old son and I stayed up till the wee hours playing that. It is a great game on the Wii.

I do have one (more) question, does anyone have any advice on controllers/set up for "precision" games. I have COD and it's not working with the blaster. Really jittery and sometimes just seems to want to spin in circles.

Ok, going to have to buy Mario Kart. I rented it this weekend (and the place even gives you the wheel free with the rental). John and I played that game for HOURS last night. It was a lot of fun. I suck, but still had fun. John kicked butt and had fun.

Will also buy Raymans Ravin Rabbids (potentially all 3 versions) at some point, plus the Wii Fit.

Will we need to get Wii Speak (or whatever it's called) or will we be ok without it?

We don't have one. It's just so people can talk to each other while playing...and if we wanted to, we could always use the old fashioned telephone.

Good, I didn't want to buy something I didn't HAVE to yet. Steering wheels are a must, at least 2 of them.

I just bowled a 300 in wii sports. wife is pissed, she had household high score with 257 til I beat it. She said "You can't let me beat you in anything can you"? I asked her what did you want me to do, roll gutter balls to let you keep high score.

Did you bowl a 300 on your own or with a cheat code?
I'm not doubting your skills, but if you did it on your own that's awesome!

I'll never be able to do it.

Wii sold more consoles in 2008 than any system before it

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Before 2008, no video game system had ever been purchased by ten million Americans in a single year. But according to independent sales data released today by the NPD Group, the Wii(tm) console from Nintendo did just that, even during these economic times, with 2008 unit sales of 10.17 million. The Nintendo DS(tm) portable handheld system came in a close second, with 2008 unit sales of 9.95 million. Each of them broke the previous yearly unit sales record set in 2007 by Nintendo DS with sales of 8.52 million.

Consequently, Wii represented 55% of all next generation home console sales in 2008, while Nintendo DS claimed 72% of all portable system sales in 2008.

"Our type of entertainment has now moved to the point where there is no longer a question that if you offer consumers an expanded definition of what a video game can be, and deliver that idea with quality and affordability in mind, millions of new people will start playing video games," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "Concepts like Wii Fit, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band never would have seemed feasible just a few years ago, and now they're driving growth for our the entire industry."

NPD data released for December and all of 2008 also included the following:

* The industry's top 4 selling games of 2008 were: Wii Play(tm) at No. 1, Mario Kart(tm) Wii at No. 2, Wii Fit(tm) at No.3, and Super Smash Brothers(tm) Brawl, at No. 4.

* Industry annual revenues jumped 19% in 2008 over 2007, and Nintendo products were responsible for 99% of those additional retail dollars.

* Nintendo DS set another industry record for system sales in any month, with 3.04 million units sold in December.

* Wii broke its own monthly record, set in December 2007, by selling 2.14 million units last month. (Xbox 360 sold 1.4 million units in Dec., the PS3 726,000)

* In December, Nintendo titles filled 20 of the top 30 spots on the best-seller list. Six games made for Nintendo systems placed in the top 10, including Wii Music(tm) for Wii (No. 9), which has now sold 865,000 units following its launch in October 2008, and Mario Kart DS for the Nintendo DS (No. 7), which has sold a total of 4.3 million units 38 months after launch.

* Activision's Guitar Hero(r) III: Legends of Rock and Guitar Hero(r) World Tour, and MTV Games/EA's* Rock Band Special Edition Bundle all sold more units on Nintendo platforms than any other platforms in 2008.

* More 3rd party units were sold for Wii than any other home consoles in December for the 2nd consecutive month.

* For the year, more than 132 million games were sold in America for play on Nintendo systems.

I believe that! I think everyone of my Aunts and Uncles bought a Wii and/or a DS for each of my cousins. It's really amazing how those things have taken off. I do love the Wii (hee hee), it's such a great concept that delivered on it's promise (at least to me). I'm a little more active than I was before. It ain't much, but it's a start.

Honey, when are you getting me the WiiFit?
