Oh damn, I forgot about the batteries.... .....ok, so for that recharging station you mentioned, does it take special batteries, or just any kind of rechargable batteries....???? And is it expensive...???

It comes with a replacement back that has the batteries in it. You just take the original bettery door off and put the new one on. I also made sure you could get replacement battery packs. I don't remember the price, but it was reasonable.

Oh, I think it was about 50 bucks for the 4 pack. The 2 packs were cheaper. Considering what batteries cost, I call it a really good value.

You can get a $10 battery charger and regular AA sized batteries for far less than $50. We've had the Wii since fall of 2006 and we're just now ready to open a new pack of four batteries -- the originals aren't holding charges very long.
I think the four pack of batteries was $10, as well.

lol..that's funny...that is what the salesman said to me to sell it..that you may as well spend the extra $10 to get a game.....
That's why I bought it, too. But, really, unless you are three years old, and maybe even then, the game sucks.

That's true, but it is convenient to just set the remote in the charger. I also use rechargables for a lot of other things, so my recharge stations are usually full.

Yes, I changed the subject. I'm mad at Nintendo and want to boycott. Okay, maybe it isn't that bad, but I am pissed. Our Wii, as I may have mentioned, has been making funny noises. I buy a new Wii to replace it instead of spending the money for repair. Guess what...you lose almost EVERYTHING saved to your original unit. I can't transfer most game saves, our Mii's, our Wii Points, any games purchased through Wii Channel are lost, and this is all due to the "user agreement". Who reads those things anyway?! But, now that I know, I won't buy down loadable content ever again. It's not right to just rip people off like that -- their system broke and it's their fault, not mine. They say it's so I don't download it to a friends system, but if Nintendo KNOWS my old Wii is fried, why can't they just transfer the stuff to a new one?! I'm not really upset about losing the games...we rarely played them, but it's about the principle of the matter. I also think I should be able to xfer Mario Kart info to a new system, but no...today we are starting all over again. Ugh. In the end, I am sending the old unit in for repair (and playing the new one in the meantime) in hopes of saving my stuff, but they still can't promise anything will be saved. Jerks.

they don't make a memory card or something that would allow you to transfer the games to the new Wii.....that is STUPID....!!!!!

Did you contact them about the issue?
Are you sure you can't transfer the mii's? It looks like you could though I have never tried.

You can save *some* game saves to a SD card, but not all. It let me save my Guitar Hero info, then after five minutes of saving said it cannot be transferred to another system. It wouldn't even let me try to save Mario Kart or Animal Crossing saves.

Yes, I contacted them...and was told "sorry, it's in the user agreement".
You can transfer your Mii's...as they are...they can never be edited, though, as they are tied to the original system.

The cool thing about the PS3 is anything that is downloaded can be downloaded again for free.
I upgraded the hard drive in my PS3, and was able to download anything from my account again for free. Nintendo is ripping people off by doing that. I haven't bought anything in the Nintendo store online yet.

Yeah, I can download previous purchases to the original unit all I like -- just not a new one. And, I can understand that -- they don't want me to give you my purchases. Still, if they know my old Wii is pretty much dead, why not transfer it to the new serial #?

You can with the PS3. If you get a new unit, as long as your downloading to your same account, I think it's fine. (At least I'm almost positive.)

You just found the #1 bad thing with the wii. Nintendo does some good things but other things like this makes them look very stupid. Nintendo should of made accounts for people to set up so they can always keep their games they've downloaded and be able to transfer them to a new wii or a new Nintendo system (you know how many people are going to be pissed when they realize they can't transfer their bought games to the next system?).
And the matter of transferring games from broken wii to new one, to my understanding, you had to register the wii with Nintendo in order for them to transfer your games.
On the matter of game information for Mario Kart and such, you can save your information on a SD card. I've done this many times before with different games. I don't understand why thats giving you issues which I've never tried the the listed games.
I like my wii but Nintendo needs major improvements before I get their next system.

Because they put in the user agreement that they don't have to do this. It's an assumed contract....which I'm confident you are already aware of this, so I'm not sure why you keep whining about it.

Wii Punch Out, has anyone played this yet? I just picked it up today. Pretty fun so far. My only complaint is that it's not "lefty" compatible. The game assumes you hold the wii remote in your right hand and I hold it in my left. I don't see any option to switch it.

I plan on getting Punch Out, but I've had Mario Kart since February and haven't played it and Guitar Hero Metallica for PS3 and have only played it once, so I'll wait a little bit on Punch Out...

The blue shell homes in on the person in first place, usually happens to the player when he/she is in sight of the goal line and someone in last place throws it and the player ends up in 5th or worst place.
And yes it's still in there.

I bought a Wii in the beginning of February and haven't used it since the end of March...... kind of wasted the money. The wife wanted it for the Wii Fit, and I used it more than she did.
Oh well.
But I still play the PS3 all the time. Anything good out for the Wii? Or coming out?

No Wii in this house but this is what I've heard. The Ghost Busters game that's comming out is supposed to be really good on the Wii. Plus they've attemted to make it more realistic looking. Imagine that a game where every character doesn't have an oversized head.

It's BS because someone who has no chance of winning throws the shell at you and have no means of avoiding and thus find your self out of first place quickly.
