this is the season you see a diverse state. I went home for thanskgiving to 6+ inches of snow. While central Ohio has a great spring, NE Ohio has an even better winter. If its gonna be cold it might as well snow

I am all for it man, it is a shame I live in central Ohio though where we usually don't see that much. I want it to be like last March every year, now that was freaking awesome seeing 4 foot drifts or so!!!

You can have your snow. I'm so glad to be done with it on a daily (winter) basis. If I want to play in it I can drive an hour and ski. Last year Mt Hood had over 600''. Gladly though scraping it off my car every morning before work is a thing of the past... and I don't miss it a bit.

Amen. They can have their snow.
I didn't mind the cold, but once I got out of college and had a daily commute to face, after 5 years I said forget it. I haven't had to deal with it now for 27 years, the closest it comes to my house is an occasional dusting of the Superstition Mountains, about 15 miles east of here.

Here in Willoughby it's been coming down pretty good off the lake. The damn lake wind is making it pretty miserable out. We put up our Christmas stuff earlier and I do admit it was pretty to see it snowing while we were doing it. Since I was inside of course. I just ran up to the store b/c I had the craving for wasabi mustard potato chips and the wind and snow were brutal. When I am driving in it I absolutely hate it. It comes with the territory though when you live out east.

No. That's why they make moving trucks that can get you out of the icey wastelands of the midwest.

Experiencing my first middle TN fall/winter. Warmer then what I'm use to but I'm told this year is actually cooler then normal. Seen snow fall couple times but its funny watching people get nervous with forecast of an inch of snow. When I tell people at work about winters along Lake Erie they can't believe how much snow we get. Looking forward too seeing my first accumulation of snow down here.

I don't necessarily mind the snow but I feel like seasons are overrated. I really don't think I would get bored with 60-70* temperatures during the "winter months". Grew up in north central ohio and now work in Chicago and I must say, north central Ohio isn't so bad. Atleast not temperature wise. Windchill here in the city just gets to be a bit much. Wasn't so bad when I was back home.

You usually get a little snow up there on the plateau as it gets a little cooler than here is SE Tennessee. Ice is usually more of the problem....rain all day while it is in the 40's then freezes when it drops at night.
It has been a cooler than normal winter so far. A good normal January high is in the low 50's and maybe upper 30's at night...you are about 4-5 degrees cooler than that as a norm.
Last year I can recall one dusting of snow that actually stuck 3-4 hours before melting off....the last real snow that stuck a day or two was maybe 5 years ago.....not counting some of the mountain tops here in the east.

God i miss that area..i was stationed at FT.campbell but lived in clarksville and then moved to antioch. I love seeing a inch of snow and everyone closing everything up..it was hilarious, but i loved being able to ride my bike pretty much year round..not freezing my nuts off at PT in the morning was nice too. and nashville in the summer is hard to beat if you love music

The news prepared those of us around Dayton for a "winter storm" this weekend. We got -- NOTHING. It's been this way for the past few weeks, but all we get is ice. I'm tired of ice and wish it would just snow already.

I'll bet we got about a foot here, give or take a little. I'm just north of Akron. And, the best part is my snowblower completely crapped out on me, but luckily not until I was about 97.4% done with the driveway, so that wasn't too bad.

Here in the west central part of the state we haven't had but about 5 inches all winter so far. Like Michelle said they keep calling for it but then we get nothin. Friday night we were supposed to get 1 to 3 inches plus some ice and then Saturday another 3 to 5 inches of snow, we got a dusting of snow and a little bit of ice and that was it.

I guess the one nice part about us getting a lot of snow and my snowblower dying was that I get to go tomorrow and get a brand new one!
The one I had was our neighbors'. They got a new one and gave us the old one. It wasn't the greatest, but it did the job for about 2 years. And, hey, for free, you can't beat that.
I'm gonna be getting a nice one, though, a Craftsman. I'm pumped.

We got dumped on pretty good this weekend. I had to unbury my car tonight so I wouldn't have to do it in the morning before work. We've been using my wife's car all weekend because mine is terrible in the snow.
I hope I make it out the bottom of the driveway in the morning. I've gotten stuck several times in big snows there after the plows come through. My drive is clear, but they didn't plow my street until after I cleared my driveway for the second time, so now there is a fair amount sitting at the bottom. I did clear out some, and the wife's car mowed a path or two in it.
Man, I don't wanna dig out my car at 7:30 am tomorrow at the bottom of the drive....

Just thought I would post a heads up about what is heading your way. I live in Iowa and it is -2 with a 25 mph wind. wind chill = - 28. You should be seeing this front in a day or two. :The wind shouldn't be as bad when it gets to ohio, but have fun with this weather.

Well, last "spring" we had enough snow (March) to last a decade. Hey, it is what it is,... Seasons are good for the soul.
Funny how things change over the years; when I was a kid, it was a playtime (sledding) and money-making (drive shoveling) goldmine. I thought I was a millionaire !! Now, it's the scourge of dread.
I don't let it bother me though.
