I forgot to mention yesterday that OSU has a very good cancer center. I've personally known 3 people that have gone through the place with various cancers and they are doing fine today.

Wow coachB... sorry to read this. As many times as I've found you thin-skinned and insulting I sure hope you pull through this.
I'm not much for prayer – being an atheist and all – but hang in there, coach. Stay positive and you'll beat it.

Thanks for letting us know about this, Coach. Now we can all help you fight this one with our thoughts and prayers.

You're the kind of guy that scares the spit out of cancer... tough, self-assured, and never willing to back down from a good donnybrook- the best traits to have in times like these.

We're all in your corner, Coach. Count on it.

all the best to you and your family,

CoachB,

I am saddened to hear this. I know this won't mean much to you as don't like me much, but I wish you and the family the best. Stay strong and beat this thing.

Specifically to you....of course it means alot to me that you would post this. It is deeply appreciated. When you face something like this, you realize how trivial the silly spats on here really are in the grand scheme of things. So, thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers. It means alot to me and my family.

To everyone else, again, thank you. Chemo starts Wed. I don't know how quickly I will feel bad or IF I will. However, I will be on as soon as possible to update everyone.

You've always been one of my favorite posters here.. tough, hard-nosed, and down to business. Have that same attitude in your fight with cancer and you'll be better in no time. The power of the mind is an amazing thing.

All the best and good luck.

My prayers are with you brother. You can beat it just think positive and dont let anyone tell you otherwise. I know you will want to do this all on your own, you are used to being the strength of the family. Well you can still be strong and allow your family to help where they can. It will help you both.

My mom is doing the R chop treatment. Very aggressive non-hodgkins lymphoma and is in stage 3 but I believe she is getting better. The positive attitude of those going through the treatments same time she is, has really been a blessing.

Coach, if anybody can pull through, it's a stubborn ol' guy like you. If people here remember, a year ago I asked for prayers for my father who had a poor prognosis. It's a year later and he's still plugging along. I firmly believe his attitude and stubbornness along with the prayers from others were the reasons behind his success. I'm praying for you right now.

I see a lot of similarity between you and my dad. You can't tell him anything either. But you know, that's exactly what it takes to not let cancer win. Take your usual firm stance on this and I'm confident you'll beat it. We need you around here....especially when the next election comes along!

All the best wishes, CoachB.

Yesterday was the first chemo treatment. It was pretty non-eventful. Today, I do not feel well at all. To top it off, I was making some calls to recruits when one of them asked me about how I was doing. My jaw dropped obviously. Another coach had told him that he would be careful about going to a school where his position coach might not be around because he was dying of cancer. Unreal!

It's a sad state of affairs when oposing coaches would use such vile tactics considering the human condition that you are under at this point in time Coach.

You are in my prayers as you will be until you beat this thing.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

That's deplorable.

If I were the recruit I'd tell that coach "Sorry, you just lost me by lack of class and dignity."

Wow Coach, that's a load of crap what that other coach did.

You're still in my thoughts and prayers. Chemo's tough, but something tells me that you're tougher.

Wow, that's awful, Coach. Some people just have no sense of decency. I just found this thread but I'll toss my prayers in with the lot. Keep hanging tough and good luck.

Turn it against the other coach. Tell the recruit, or, ask him "would you rather be playing for a guy that's doing his job despite the circumstance he's in, or would you rather play for a coach that has no clue about life? "

Amen to that.

B, there's no doubt in my mind you can beat this thing. Believing is probably the most important mental aspect.

Sorry to hear about the other coach using those evil types of tactics.

Keep a box of chamomille tea handy while you are going through the chemo, it will help settle your stomach. I have a dear friend that is in a very bad way with cancer and she uses the chamomille religiously for her naseua. (I sent her a box via her husband.)

Keep you chin up and keep us posted when you can on how you are doing.

First let me say I am praying for you bro. I just lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer so I hate the disease so much, and will be happy to help you in any way I can........I mean that bro.

Secondly, whoever said that is a real Ahole who epitomizes what is what is truly wrong with sports right now......heck the country in general.

Hang in there bud.
