chris broussard does as well, although, take that for what it is, because he's a cleveland guy.

i think mark stein is about as fair as it will get with espn reports/experts/analysts...

that was one hell of an effort last night though... denver is one of the better teams in the west, and they didn't play thursday night, that's just how good this cavs team is...

a lot of cavs fans are pimping z and mo for all star spots, and both have been very good, but how about delonte west? is this not one of the most underrated players in the league right now?

he's incredible to watch, a very smart player, he always seems to be a step ahead of the other team, always makes the extra pass, he hits huge shots, and he gives everything he has defensively... what a pickup he was.

Unbelievable how well that trade has turned out. Ferry just raked...

West has fantastic confidence out their on the court right now.

I caught some of the Bulls/Celtics game beforehand and saw Larry fire up an airball on a wide open 3

J/C...

Not sure if anyone is watching, but why in the hell are we having Z leave his guy to double Mason?

I can't remember us doubling a guy all year....

detroit loses again... lolz...

gotta hand it to those that said detroit was gonna be scary when they dumped billups for iverson...

i told them, billups is the engine that makes detroit go... iverson isn't really that great of a player any more...

and notice how much better denver has gotten since billups has been acquired (other than being 0-2 against us)

We stopped doing it after the 1st quarter...

OKC has by far the best crowd in the NBA.. It will be insane in the Ford Center if this team can get good after a few years. A lot of it has to do with the fact that they have never had a pro sports team, but my goodness, they really stay involved.. I love how they all stand up till the Thunder make their first basket of the game... I also love how they are all over the refs..

on top of that, they're going to end up getting the top pick in the draft, if they can land a gem, they'll be a dangerous team in 2 or 3 years..

right now, durant, green, and westbrook are a nice little bunch to build around

Not disagreeing with you but Ive always thought Portland fans had one of the best NBA crowds. Their fans are in the game and are cheering loud from the begining to end. I use to enjoy watching the old Lakers vs Blazers playoff series. It seemed like every last fan in attendance use to jump up out of their seats and cheer for every bucket.

yeah, no doubt the blazers have a good crowd. I was just referring to regular season crowds. it is much easier for the crowd to get all fired up for the playoffs as we all know.

okc, blazers and golden state all have pretty damn good fans IMO...

I was watching Phoenix play in Portland a few days ago (wanted to see what Oden could do. Got 2 quick fouls on Shaq before I fell asleep) and their crowd was still pretty pumped up for a regular season game. Although it makes the game more enjoyable when they havnt made the playoffs in a few years and they're playing a team with a comparable record that has been in the playoffs. Seeing your team on the way up, beating an older and consistant playoff team on its way down.

Every time I watch Portland, I envy their whole arenas fan support. They are not at the game just for something to do for a night out with coworkers. That was annoying me when I went to the Knicks game this year. Im trying to watch the game while yuppies are standing up circle jerking and talking about annoying bosses or customers. I have the decency to kneel down or to pull an acquintance aside when I unexpectingly see someone I know at a game. Also a big reason why it was such a big story in Portland when their players(Wallace, Stoudamire) were getting in trouble, was that it was turning off such a connected fan base.

I forgot the Warriers do have a pretty good fan base.

OKC suprised me with their support of the Hornets. Especially knowing that they were just a rent-a-team until New Orleans was ready to take them back. They kind of reminded me of older fans at high school b-ball games with their team spirit. I havnt seen to much of the Thunder though.

is anyone else tired of some of these so called experts, and even some of the morons in the blogging world that are dogging the cavs and saying they've played a cupcake schedule compared to boston?

really?

boston's back to back's have all ended up with either home games, or easy games on the road, the cavs have had to deal with detroit and atlanta, on the road in the second night of back to back

they've also had 4 in 5 nights, something boston has yet to deal with, and won't until march...

Plus, the one point loss to Atlanta wasnt only after a trip to Atlanta from Philly, but without Z and Gibson.

Boston beat them by one with their whole team.

I guess the Cavs will have to shut them up in the playoffs.

It is funny though because they are both from the East and have the same teams to play, but Cleveland has far better division opponents.

i can't wait for the 9th, when we wipe the floor with boston...

and i can't wait for the response from espn...

if we beat boson and they are still on this streak, "it was time for them to lose"

if we beat them, and they had already lost once beforehand, "well cleveland just caught them at the right time"

i'm lovin it.

People who are connected in the league (coaches, front office, players, etc.) know we are good... These are the peers, the one's who know the game better than ESPN "experts." These are the people that actually see and pay attention to ALL the games. The video guys and scouts, etc. Also, NBA junkies (Bill Simmons, Henry Abbott, etc.) know we are good as well. I guess what I am saying is that people who actually watch the games (not just the national tv games) know the whole story....

I couldn't give a rats ass what the ESPN tv guys say. As far as I am concerned, keep the hate coming. Any added motivation never hurt..

just checked ESPN's updated weekly Mark Stein power rankings for this week, and they have our record wrong. They have us at 22-4. We are 23-4 damnit!

i do though, i love clicking and reading anything on the net with the nba...

you can tell what guys do their homework and watch full games, or at least close to...

and then you have guys like tim legler and jalen rose, who clearly don't watch anything close to full games, just highlights... and they just roll with stereotypes to get them through a broadcast (the cavs=defense, suns=offense, knicks=bad, spurs=good) when there is so much more...

bill simmons is actually one of the better basketball guys on espn, and he's not even a basketball guy... he obviously has a boston bias, so you take him with a grain of salt, but when he talks about other teams, he really lets you know about them. you can tell he watches more nba than legler or rose...

actually, webber and payton on nba tv aren't that bad, they goof off a ton, but when it comes to breaking down a game, both are really good, they also have eric snow, who obviously knows about the game as much as anyone, considering he was drawing up plays as a player the last few years...

i love avery johnson on espn as well, he and hubie brown, i can listen to either of those guys talk nba for hours...

seriously, the 9th can't come too soon... what a huge game that is going to be, friday night, espn telecast, at home, you better have that circled on your calendar.

Completely agree with your analysis. I hate when ESPN wheels guys out like Stephen A. Smith, who have no real clue about basketball. Their two "big" basketball guys on their website are Mark Stein, who's okay, and Hollinger, who's nothing more than a stat-whore. Their bloggers, Abbott and Simmons are much better.

It sure is fun listening to people talk about the NBA though. Even the radio guys down here in So Cal (Laker country) were like, "there seems to be two teams in the NBA ... Celtics and Cavs".

i actually got into it with one espn's contributing writers... the guy that does true hoop... he had an article about lebron in 2010, behind the scenes. he made a comment that every source who is plugged into the issue, thinks he's gone, i just had to get into it.

this guy told me that basically his "sources" tell him that lebron is gone, and that the only reason he extended with the cavs was to take the extra money and give time to the knicks or nets to clear space...

he also told me that after lebron told people at the voting rally that he wasn't leaving, that because it got a slight bit of pub, that lebron contacted a few new york writers and told them that he didn't mean it... (i find that hard to believe)

he said there is no bias with the media to push lebron to a bigger market. i pointed out all the reasons, and he told me "well i don't watch tv"

just, wow.

but hey, big game tonight, no cupcake. houston has had our number over the past few seasons. let's see how the new look cavs match up.

cavs win again. good game too

we haven't beaten too many quality teams at home so far, but tonight was a definite quality win..

we had some trouble with yao ming, and houston's outside shooting, but we were more than good enough to win.

there is no doubt in my mind this game, if played last year, we would have been blown out.

this team is unreal..we are so deep..Honestly, Boston don't scare me at all..houston i think is a harder match up for us because of the D, outside shooting and yao. We outslugged them and it wasn't just lebron having to do it. This is one of those games that as a team you go..."you know what, we can beat anyone"

i think mike brown has turned into a pretty damn good coach..I have been critical of him in years past, but he's the perfect coach for this team, he let's the players play, listens to his assistants and allows the players to provide input..you can't ask for more than that..better than an egotistical ass like larry brown or silas

it's also nice when your gm adds you a bona fide ball handler, and a guy who can create his own shot (williams) as well as a guy you traded for last year start to blossom within your system.

the old cavs bought into brown's system, lebron, z, boobie, sasha, andy, etc...

but now, the new guys from the trades get it too...

the cavs got screwed last year, because their roster forced them to play a very slow offense to shorten the possessions, and they relied on lebron to have a monster game (as well as take over every 4th quarter, he was mr 4th quarter last year, now he's mr 4th quarter from the bench) things got worse when we made that trade, and had to phase in 4 guys into a brand new system, brand new philosphies, teammates, etc...

it was also painfully obvious to see when they struggled, especially in the playoffs. with boston, they'd get out to a nice lead, and eventually let the lead slip away, the boston defenders would sag their defense toward lebron, because he was the only true ball handler on the team at the time, and they would force lebron to really only do 2 things, miraculously get to the rim, or take a long 3, they did this because they knew if lebron passed off, that any of the other 4 guys on the floor can't really handle putting the ball on the floor, and a turnover was likely, delonte is somewhat an exception... eventually boston grabs the lead, and wins the game, a few times we almost got away with a win too... at home, the cavs simply just got out and ran as much as they could, that is really hard to do on the road in the playoffs.

but now the results are paying off...

i love how brown handles this team too, he has his little gimmicks that he gets his players to buy into, the 50/50 balls, the hockey pass... i also read somewhere that he's been pushing the rookies by leaving notes in their lockers about how they can improve...

and hey, if you look throughout the league, he's actually in like the top 5 or 6 in tenured coaches in the league...

i think only lawrence frank, doc rivers, jerry sloan, greg popovich, and phil jackson have been at their gigs longer.

although jackson did take a year off.

doc rivers may win coach of the year, but brown sure will get his share of votes.

best coach in cleveland.i been sayin that for years.

and we are really fortunate to have this, because with the crappy winter everywhere, and the browns looking like dog poo, we'd really be depressed with no good sports to watch.

Damn right!!! I've already moved out of football mode and am COMPLETELY in basketball mode. We are witnessing something special here. This team, really is THAT good. They can definitely make a run for a championship, and can beat ANY team in the way.

They held Tracy McGrady to 4 points...4 POINTS!!

The biggest problem tonight was Rafer Alston. But if that's who they need to beat us...I'll take that every day!

cavs played good defense, but man, tracy macgrady does not look like himself...

he's only averaging about 16 points this year...

i was one of those last year, that said we should try and make a run at him...

i guess that's why danny ferry is gm, and not me.

lolz.

I absolutely love this team!!

I was at the Rockets game last night and they (Houston) really play well as a team. Also, that was their 4th game in 5 nights I believe and they took the Cavs to the end. We still need to improve in order to beat teams like the Celtics and Lakers on the road IMO.

Shaun Rogers was at the game last night....got his pic.

Man I wish I could get my hands on some tickets to that Celtics game. I checked StubHub and want like $85 for the upperlevel behind the hoop, normally like $5-$10 i think.

it's a huge game... although i would probably wait as the stock is incredibly high on this game

some think boston will not lose until they get to cleveland, but i guarantee you guys they will have at least one more loss before the 9th, tomorrow starts their west coast trip, they have to go into staples, as well as into portland, i would think they'd drop at least one there.

they also have to play houston right before us, that could be a bad stretch for them, 2 very physical teams in the rockets, and us, for an aging team... could be crucial. if boston goes through injuries the cavs gotta take advantage. it could mean the difference between a championship and third place.

merry christmas everyone, stay safe! go cavs

well it figures cavs would play the worst game of the year the same day boston finally loses...this team looks worse tonight than anytime ive seen them since lebrons been here..pathetic 4-22 washington owning us in every aspect..

well we eeked out a win, but that game was too much like last years team and playing down to the competition, they shouldn't have even been in the game. But a win is a win and i'm grateful, only a game back from boston now and boston just started their west coast trip..could leave cleveland a game or two behind us
