and consider the running backs that have come and gone through Denver in his tenure.. hard to argue with him taking a flier on a guy like Clarett... But I will remind you, RAC has a bunch of pretty rings too..

I didn't know Arch played WR.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

JC. I am not as shocked as most people seem to be on this. I know the fans in Co. have been kinda lukewarm towards Mike S for the last couple years. Gotta admit it is huge that they would let go such a solid coach. I mean, who the heck is going to be able to fill those shoes? Questionable drafts lately and slipping defense. Of course they were all walking wounded this year. Shanahan is getting the ole heave ho too soon IMHO.
BUT!!! No way in HELL do I want him here in Cleveland. Call it old wounds that wont heal with him here. Just would never feel right to me. I feel the same way about "the chin". Only thing he had going for him is he was a player here in Cleveland.
Einstein could not even fathom the mathematical improbabilities of the Browns woes.

You wanna hire a coach that once drafted Maurice Clerett?
at least he took him on the second day...LOL
If Clarett had not been a complete headcase, he had huge potential. Maybe Shanahan thought he would grow up.
He was lucky Mike gave him a shot,....AFTER Jim did,...and the kid STILL didn't learn. He had Heisman written all over him, a "freshman" National Title, the media by the short hairs (via being at Ohio State), and threw it all away for his ego.
I'm tellin' ya, this crap starts young,...we teach 'em wrong.
Anyway, no thanks on Shanahan,...he'll be burnt out.

I disagree I see Braylon as the one who has brought on the well deserved criticism upon himself and he needs to change mentally to earn the respect not expect it. THis is all on him, if he wants to change he can, or he can continue the inmature route and make excuses for everything. He did this himself, so as my mom said to me many of times, you make your bed you sleep in it.

I love Rick Dennison.
But i'm guessing he follows Shanahan to KC. Shanny is a bit vindictive and I could definitely see him getting HC/GM in KC and trying to stick it to Oakland AND Denver every year.
Or maybe SD decides enough with Norv and brings in Shanny after they lose this weekend.
Anyway about it, it sure mixes things up....
(I would not be opposed to Shanny despite the fact he was the Broncos coach...I just for some reason don't see it happening, just gut feeling)

I think you make a good point and that division is somewhat whacked like that but can see Shannahan in KC or SD easily if either team wants him. Mkes sense, good point.

I think Shanahan comes to Cleveland and Romeo goes to Denver. Because that is the kind of karma our teams have.

We agree here Coach.
My only thinking is IF Pioli and Lerner have a behind closed door deal, who our future HC will be may already have been decided by Pioli.
I'm not saying that's happenned. But I would believe that Lerner wants Pioli enough to make it Pioli's call on our next HC.
And it's possible that's already been determined IMO
In this scenario I'm giving Lerner credit that he didn't exactly go into this thing blind, but had a plan of attack already in mind.

Did you go to Michigan too? Or were you just so rabid over another negative BE comment that you forgot how to properly form a sentence?
I think Shanahan deserves an interview.

LOL, nice.....however, I think a late round pick rolling the dice on a guy with that much potential wasn't a big deal. This is also the guy with a couple of real pretty rings on his fingers.
RAC has 5 of them there rings pardner! By the way Coach, how ya feeling there bud.

I would Definitely look into Shanahan as Head Coach , other than Cowher IMHO there would be no better pick as the best HC of the Browns....

He wants to win here, he wants to be a brown....all he wants is a fair chance from the fans to be accepted, and that hasnt happened since he got here

This is funny it's people like you that are "keeping" this going, seriously if Edwards could catch the ball regulary then he would get the respect he wants. Sorry man but he's just another high priced prima donna WR in the NFL. BE is a drama queen and needs to grow a set and stop the boo' by doing what he is supposed to be getting paid for and catch the damn ball.
I could care less about OSU and Michigan BTW and why this is an issue with anyone it's on their own silliness.

Now, we have to set paramaters here. When I brought up RAC's 5 rings, I was told they didn't count because he was a DC and not the HC. Now, I bring up Shanny's ringsa as a HC and I'm told RAC had 5. You guys don't play fair at all. I'm not feeling great, but better than Christmas Day....and just in time for chemo again tomorrow. I'm starting to hate Wednesdays.

It definitely is the wrong way to do business,....I completely hate--but respect--Michigan football as an OSU fan. But to pour it on like some do just because he's from Michigan is BS,.....everybody has already forgotten Thom Darden (not to mention Leroy Hoard too,...). If Darden's not on your All-Time Browns Team, then you better be bringing in somebody pretty damn special.

As Joey on Friends once said, "Monday - one day, Tuesday - 2 day, Wednesday - what day?, Thursday 3rd day". He stopped there, but made it very clear that Wednesdays don't matter anyway. One of the funniest scenes in Friends history.
I haven't said so yet, but good luck to you Coach and God bless you and your family.
Back to the Shanahan deal - I could deal with him as the coach, so long as he doesn't get the say on who we draft. Ask for certain positions and let the scout team find the players and the GM pick accordingly. I wouldn't mind Crennel as the DC, with Tucker going back to DBs. I also wouldn't mind Chud coming back to an OC title role, so long as he was back to the 'apprentice' role with Shanahan calling the plays.

Something else to think about. Wasn't Shanahan playing a GM role in Denver too ? Not sure how that would fly in Cleveland. Bums me out, cuz I want him.

The veteran coach, who holds additional responsibilities as the Broncos’ Executive Vice President of Football Operations, That's from here I share your sentiment. I don't know how it would work IF we hire Pioli and IF we were to hire Shanahan.
