Actually, frat boy, aren't you the one that seemed to know everything about global warming? Now that I think about it, I believe you are. And it makes sense, since you're a frat boy, big time stud college student.
Aren't you the one who believes in god...you know the flying spaghetti monster...Big Deal I happen to believe in Global Warming and the fact that humanity has done very little for the betterment of the Earth.
What's your problem with fraternities...you know your precious Reagen was in one right? You know most of the greatest Presidents, leaders, and business men this Country has seen were in fraternities right? You know there are some hall of fame Browns who were in fraternities right? Like Lou Groza. You probably couldn't get in a fraternity if you wanted....or at least those are the only people who usually have problems with fraternities...People who are too stupid and or ignorant to actually look up facts about Greek life. You know Fraternities and Sororities raise millions of dollars for various charities right? You know my fraternity raised over 10,000 dollars for Toys For Tots among other charities in our area? Before you bring up the alcohol b/s remember it's not just Greek life who has problems with drinking in our society. Besides you don't hear about every airplane that lands safe do you? (You probably won't figure that reference out but in our media only bad stuff gets reported)

Here are some facts: Greeks make a difference Fraternity and sorority members go on to make a big difference in many aspects of society. Check this out: Studies show that 76 percent of our nation's senators and 85 percent of Fortune 500 executives were fraternity men Since 1825, all U.S. presidents but three have been Greek Since 1910, 89 percent of United States Supreme Court justices have been Greek More than 8 million men and women in the U.S. and Canada are Greek Greeks lead 43 of the nation's 50 largest corporations http://public.elmhurst.edu/greeklife/1314512.html

Hey frat boy, chill out, DUDE.
You're the one that got all defensive about frats. Might want to go back and read frat boy.
I sense a little bit of defensiveness from you - actually, a whole lot of it. Perhaps you should go back to studying so that someday you will be prepared to enter the real world.
Funny, the term "frat" gets you all worked up. You then attack me for believing in God. You have some learning to do, dude. I know, I know, you're in college and you're all smart and everything, you even spew out things your prof's tell you in class. Good for you.

It's not something I woulda done if I were Rey. Although watching I would have laughed my ass off.
I will say a lot of women don't take real offense to it when people do similar things. They get "mad" in a playful way.

Just can't help myself. I will stoop to your level, frat boy.

The college I went to did not have frats. I would not have cared to be a frat boy anyway. What does a frat do for you? You have an "in" with others from the same frat. Wow. You raise money for charities? Wow, frats must be the only ones, huh? I love the part about too stupid or ignorant to look up greek life. So now you're greek? You belong to a frat and you are the expert on greeks? Quote:

So, your frat raised $10,000 for charity. No, I did not know that. How could I, as I don't know what frat you belong to, nor do I know what school you go to?
Here's a question for you: Did you know that I personally, all by myself, with no frat help, gave almost as much to charity as your frat did? Grow up.

Whoa...A grown man who actually has a job donated as much as a bunch of college kids who don't and did fund raisers (washing cars, buy a Delta Chi date, sold baked goods...etc) ....Impressive.
And you are way below my level
Also about the stupid Greek comparison(shows how much you know about Fraternities & Sororities), when you are talking about fraternities and someone says Greek life it incorporates Fraternities and Sororities....I'm not sexist so i wanted to include the ladies, as there have been some wonderful women leaders and philanthropists. Forget the fact you complete ignored the fact some of the men you look up to and idolize were in fraternities.

I guess since he came out and apologized for the incident maybe those of us that said it wasn't appropriate were so wrong after all. Otherwise why apologize?

Ok frat boy. I'm not quite sure how I can spell it out any clearer for you than this: I don't give a rat's ass about frats. I don't care about them. I don't care who used to be in a frat, or who might be in the future. Frats are nothing to me, and they are nothing to most people. Now, I understand you may feel slighted or jilted by that. Tough. Graduate. Get a job. In the future, you will look back and say "ah, frat life was great", just as I look back at college and say "ah, college life was great".
Try to grow up sometime, k?

Your ignorance is astounding...You started the fraternity thing with a derogatory remark about us I try to enlighten you and this is all you got..It's not different if you made a derogatory remark about an African American or a Native American. About your ignorance I will quote this poster:
Quote:
Ignorance is ignorance no matter how you slice it. So is prejudice.
How fitting...I wonder who said it?

Oh for Christ sakes, allow me to chime in.
My friends who joined frats only did to live in the house in their sophomore year and to "meet sorority sluts." They hardly associate with their frats anymore. Loki...be honest...you know we mean well but we're also at our rowdiest right now. We'll grow up soon. It's college, our last years to live it up.
and arch...you need to chill bro. Not everyone has your uptight view of life. So you fought and clawed to get where you are...so did my dad. I applaud and respect you for it. That doesn't mean you need to take out your frustrations out on my generation. I'm tired of hearing about "how rough the elders had it" when its that generation that is sending my generation into a crappy job market right when it's time to graduate!
You're both wrong. I'm wrong. There is no right in these kinds of arguments. Accept it.

In reality it means that somebody within USC or within the athletic department thought it was wrong... somebody who didn't want USC's stellar reputation tarnished... People in the public eye apologize all the time for stuff that is borderline right or wrong just because it's the PC thing to do. And I wasn't in a fraternity, were you?

Well, it wasn't basketball, it wasn't Tennessee, but it was women. You got one right.
Pat would never have allowed the flip flop fiasco.

Just remember, it was focker that brought frats into it. Actually, he used the term "frat boys" Yet, somehow, someone is trying to call me out for the word "frat", and then things went from there. Even had some semi masked profanity from the person lecturing me about greek life, class, intelligence, etc.
Oh, and jules, for what this thread turned into, you probably will be disappointed with the video. In my opinion it was classless. In some others opinions it was nothing. The arguing really has nothing to do with the video.

I hadn't viewed the video all week, thought it was a "Dancing With the Stars" thread and bypassed it.
After 3 pages, I figured I should check it out. Having checked it out, I now know that uh....I know that, um....and then there is the fact that.....well, ya know if they......um....what happened again in the video? The plot of the video seemed to be that Clint Eastwood joined a fraternity and the school was far away, he had to walk uphill both ways to get there and when there he argued with the president of the sorority, I mean fraternity and then some underling named Ray apologized for a dastardly deed that I'm not sure what it was but I think it was because he made the faux pas of wearing flip flops to a basketball game in Tennessee while holding a lacrosse stick. Who is Erin Andrews?
Arch- I agree with ya from start to finish.

Pretty immature thing to do, and something that would lead me to dig quite a bit deeper into his psyche before selecting him in the draft.

Wouldn't have to dig too far.
He punched a guy his freshman year at a party for no apparent reason and when a girl yelled and threatened to call the police he replied "go ahead, I own the police"!
Plus he has faced team disciplinary action numerous times.
I was pimping him for a while but when I dug around like you are saying I changed my stance on him. He's extremely immature, cancer waiting to happen.
