I searched through the Information forum, and it told me to go to the Offseason Schedule page, which I could not find. So, can anyone tell me when it starts?

For Browns fans, Free Agency always seems to be the most exciting part of the season

Usually, it's the first week of March if I can recall. But last year, it was delayed because of the CBA talks. Thank god we won't have to wait through that mess again. At least, not this year.

Anyway, speaking of FA, what do we think Asante Samuel will require?

Boy was that brutal. I knew our first day of FA would be like Christmas and I was just dying for it to start.

Didn't think for a second Bentley would have been one of our guys. What a surprise, too bad he got hurt.

For restricted free agents, from March 11 to April 21; for unrestricted free agents and transition players, from March 11 to July 22 (or the first scheduled day of the first NFL training camp, whichever is later); and for franchise players, from March 11 through the 10th week of the season (November 14).

Free Agency begins March 2nd.

Clutch, those dates are the periods with which the tagging/tendering team can negotiate (or can't negotiate) with the player(s) that they have tagged or made an RFA Tender to.

I don't think they were false articles. I think they were made in advance in preparation for what was about to go down.

Some really smart people must've unlocked the hidden articles.

I came back from a night out and thought I was dreaming when i read we signed Givens. Turns out I was just dreaming afterall, but not in the drunk and stupid sense.

I remember all of that nonsense when the board was shut down, that was bad. Well hopefully it works itself out naturally this year and we dont have any problems.

My wishlist is the following
Asante Samuel
Eric Steinbach
Terdell Sands
Kris Dielman?

I can't imagine NE letting Samual go. 10 ints during the season and 2 pick-6's in the playoffs. He is the closest thing to champ bailey that there is.

I know, he's been playing lights out lately. But the real question is how much will it cost to retain him? But too bad I have a feeling they will do it anyway, let's hope not.

And if Asante isn't there there's always OSU alumni Nate Clements. I've also heard that he's not very happy with his situation in Buffalo, probably because he's not getting paid enough, lol.

But it would be great to see him in brown and orange.

If we sign Samuel, we won't have the money for Steinbach. We might, but we'd have no money for anything else.

Samuel will get a record contract, mark my words on that. A corner of his caliber hitting the open market where corners are at a premium, look at what Gary Baxter made when he signed with us, look what Henry made. They're not even elite corners. Given the new CBA as well, it wouldn't surprise me to see Samuels get a record contract.

You're probably right on the Samuel thing. New England definitely won't let
him go, they'll pay any asking price, no matter how high.

So that leaves us with the Baxter situation, is he coming back? And if he does will there be a conflict of interest if we sign Clements?

No conflict with Baxter, Tasty, IF Baxter can come back then he's the backup. period. However, that's assuming that we don't reach a settlement at some point with him.

BULL ****

Learn how the Salary Cap operates before spewing FALSE information...

It has NUTTIN' to do with the Money we give anyone...It has EVERYTHING to do with how many years and bonuses structures...

FACT...WE CAN SIGN THREE BIGTIME FA's AND MORE SECOND LEVEL GUYS WITH OUR SPACE...And STILL have the 5M or so for our allotted draft picks...AND THEN SOME MORE...

Oh Man Kardiac,,, that was tough last year year waiting for the CBA,,, I was miserable

Samuels would be a great pick up for us... so would that LOG Kris Dielman (sp) guy from SD or maybe Eric Stienbach LOG from Cincy.. I'm thinking Dielman would be cheaper and I actually think he may be as good.. If memory serves me correct, he's Ohio born.. Not that that really matters..

That would leave us wide open to go for either Thomas or Branch in the draft.... Tell me that wouldn't be sweet..

I remember hearing on WMMS that the browns signed Breese... I was freaking out happy and then... reality hit

Well, I'm glad we can all look back at that now and kinda laugh. Although, instead of waiting another two weeks for Christmas, as some have stated it, we still have to wait one more season to open our biggest gift (Bentley). But anyway, yeah, it'd be sweet to get either Steinbach or Dielman in FA and then build the trenches in the draft. Although Phil has said that he thinks that can be done in the later rounds which leads me to believe that he is going BPA in Round 1. (Peterson?) Then again, he can be blowing smoke.

in the interest of accurracy, I want to point out that Phil said that the Guard and Center spots can generally be filled in the later rounds. He used it as a counter-example to how tackles have to be picked high in the early rounds (particularly left tackles).

At this time of year, most GM's are blowing lots of smoke so it's hard to read anyting into Phils words,,,

I'm always confused by what all these GM's say and then they do something totally different. So I've kinda given up on that.

I just say what I want to happen and let it go at that And I'm wrong 95% of the time,,,,,LOL

Givens was a false article.. and there were also reports that the Eagles had got Bentley..
