Its just crazy to think that a player like Peppers could even hit the FA mark. I just can't see Carolina letting him walk either. But they do have a problem, their tackle Gross is also looking at FA, and you can't tag both of them. Now, if for some reason he does become a freeagent...... insert instant graemlim that drools I think he could be outstanding in the 3-4. The possibilies are fascinating. Put him at end with a pash rush lb on 3rd and long. That would give the oline coaches many sleepless nights. As a backer in early downs, should be tough to run on. I wonder if there is enough money to go around in FA with the 3-4 teams. Dallas has their own FA's to sign, Steelers do it the right way-draft and develop, Baltimore has 3/4's of their backers as FA and probably can't afford them all. I could see Denver come into play, but how much room is in their cap. I think the browns are just as big a player in this as anybody else- we could easily be a landing spot for him. Not saying its the right thing to do, but wouldn't be disappointed if they did it.

One of Yahoo's writers just listed the Browns as a sleeper to land Peppers. I doubt it. Then again, I thought we had no shot at Steinbach.

I think I would rather have Julius Peppers on the team, than Terrell Suggs... Peppers is that much better..

I like them both too.......but, Peppers has done it pretty much by himself for the last couple of years......Suggs has had a great supporting cast.....Suggs is a little younger I think and probably a little cheaper too......If someone said we could have either...it would be a hard decision...but I would go with Peppers I think....like the old saying goes...."Ya get what you pay for"...... .....

Give me Peppers and draft Curry! That would be one huge upgrade IMO. Imagine the possibilities that arise with Peppers on our D. The guy is awesome, Wimbley would be in heaven, all the attention Peppers would get would free him up. Then you have DQ and Curry in the middle, man would that be great. With a healthy Williams and Rogers eating blocks, I'm sure our young corners would love it too. Curry can play inside or out, Peppers can play standing or with his hand down, then you have DQ, Hall and Bell. To me that sounds like a nice group.

If we want any chance at Peppers without having to compensate the Panthers, then we better hope Jordan Gross doesn't re-sign with the Panthers.
If Gross re-signs with the Panthers, they can then use the franchise tag on Peppers and trade him for someone's 1st round pick.
If Gross doesn't re-sign, then they will most likely franchise him making Peppers available as an unrestricted free agent.
I know we probably won't be getting Julius Peppers, but any chance of us doing so relies 100% on Jordan Gross' situation.
