Reports: Rams hire Giants’ Spagnuolo as coach ST. LOUIS (AP)—The St. Louis Rams have hired New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo as their coach, according to reports. Spagnuolo replaces Jim Haslett and takes over a team that finished 2-14. Haslett went 2-10 as interim coach after his promotion from defensive coordinator when Scott Linehan was fired following an 0-4 start. Spagnuolo was the architect of the Giants’ sack-happy defense that thwarted New England’s run to a perfect season in last year’s Super Bowl upset. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch was the first to report the hiring. The NFL Network reported the deal is worth $11.5 million over four years. Rams spokesman Rick Smith said he was not aware of any announcement and no news conference was planned.

i REALLY don't know what happened to the Rams.....
I think Spagnuolo can turn that team around pretty quick.

I think that's the key to the entire thing--good coaching.

Me neither...they seem to have alot of talent, but like the Browns....just need a coach....they will have another good draft pick this year, and I'm sure they will go OL....or possibly a LB.....they are in an easy division also.....or at least it was last year...

i wouldn't say they have a LOT of talent. outside of jackson, the offense is kinda eh and their offense carried the team for past seasons. bulger has been underrated but he's been off the past two seasons. that said, what they do have is a few 1st rounders on the d-line. assuming those picks aren't busts, if anyone should be able to get the most out of them, it *should* be spag.

Well, they have SOME talent.......they have Holt, and Avery looked good this year, and they do have Bulger and Jackson...and they got a good young saftey and a corner.....and like you said, their D line is decent....actually, they have pretty much the same needs as us I guess when you break it down...they are weak at LB......could use another DB....and their OL needs a little help.....and the most important thing, a coach that can get the most out of it all.....
