We have another Bengal arrested

Rookie cornerback Johnathan Joseph was arrested in Boone County over night.......between 1:30-2:15 am.....on charges of marijuana possession.

Joseph was pulled over as a passenger in a car in which his girlfriend was driving. She had a suspended license. Police smelled marijuana and searched the car....then found the marijuana in a Super Bowl backpack.

Details to follow on the first player to challenge the new Hard Ass Marvin

Bengals CB Joseph arrested for marijuana possessionAssociated Press
National Football League News Wire

CINCINNATI -- Bengals cornerback Johnathan Joseph was
arrested early Monday and charged with possession of marijuana, the
ninth Cincinnati player arrested in the last nine months.

The arrest came three weeks after coach Marvin Lewis promised to
get tougher on player misconduct, hoping to stop a series of
arrests that has embarrassed the team and drawn the attention of
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Joseph was arrested on U.S. Route 42 in northern Kentucky. He
lives nearby in Union, Ky. The Boone Country sheriff's office
arrest report said Joseph was the passenger in a vehicle driven by
a woman who had a suspended license, was driving slowly and
weaving.

When a Boone County sheriff's deputy asked Joseph to get out of
the vehicle, he smelled marijuana. The deputy searched Joseph's
black backpack with a Super Bowl logo and found a bag of marijuana
in a pouch, the arrest report said.

Joseph was released Monday morning, and his first court
appearance is scheduled for Feb. 5. Marijuana possession is a
misdemeanor that carries a maximum of one year in jail and a
maximum $500 fine.

He was the team's first-round draft pick last season and had
positioned himself to take over a starting job next season.

It is well documented that I feel sorrow for the Clowns and their downtrodden fanbase. This includes the Refs too. Poor Refs indeed!

In 2006, eight arrests equaled eight wins. They are just getting an early start so they can ensure that this years total will be enough to get them to the playoffs.

The article reports this as the ninth, but I'm wondering when the "year" ends and the count gets reset to zero? After the regular season? Super Bowl? Draft? Opening of camp? Not that it matters any, but if the count dosen't reset then where are guys like Stanley Wilson, James Brooks, Tremaine Mack and other stalwart members of society?

Another one bites the dust...pretty soon, if the felonies keep up, Marvin Lewis could be out of a job, and the only place for a job might be a prison guard keeping his former players in check with the line of duty

Not that I'm happy about 8 wins, but a Browns fan has no room to talk about 8 wins when all they are accustomed to is 4,5 wins a year and drafting in the Top 6.

Not stupid at all.....one winning season in the last 17, and the bunghole bandwagon riders have been talking like they're one of the elite teams in the league.....not to mention the ninth arrest this year. That's funny as hell. Everybody's frickin' laughing at the bungholes.

Since our return in 1999, starting from scratch, we've had 1 winning season, 1 playoff appearance and an 0-1 record in the playoffs. That's exactly what Cincy has accomplished in that time. Go back 17 years and we've had more winning seasons than the Bungles, and we took some time off in that span.

You're not in the playoffs, just as we're not. Pretty much the same thing. I'd rather miss the playoffs and pick 3rd or 4th than miss them and pick in the teens. You'll just have fewer future felons to pick from.

Oh, and this is the 9th player arrested in the last 9 months, not the 9th arrest. Cincy has some multitaskers.

This is from the Palmer article:

“In the NFL, talent isn’t everything. It couldn’t have been any more evident than in that game Sunday,” Palmer said.

I don't know why everyone is so upset about this. Marvin Lewis has had a history of picking "crap" since he was VERY young...

It happens on another team and they’re shocked and surprised to hear about it. With us, you hear about it and it doesn’t surprise you and you just shake your head and say, ‘Another one.’ ”
