“Look at that game. The only recognizable names that went to a Pro Bowl for New England are Tom Brady on offense and Richard Seymour on defense. Other than that, they’ve got average guys who do what they’re told and play together. Talent isn’t everything , and we’ve got talent but we’re sitting home for a reason and we have to do something about it.”

If you're talking about the Browns...we still need to get guys who are at least average.

Haha, I wonder if the team criminals are with him on this one or if they continue to be arrogant.

Either way, I'm sure Palmer's car will be gone by tomorrow night.

NEW YORK - The NFL and its players union have agreed to more extensive testing for performance-enhancing drugs and have added the blood-boosting substance EPO to the league’s list of banned substances.

The agreement, announced jointly Wednesday by the league and union, also adds to the financial penalties for players suspended for using those drugs. Players suspended for using steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs will forfeit a prorated portion of their signing bonuses.

Signing bonuses often are the only guaranteed portion of a player’s compensation.

In addition to the new test for EPO, the deal includes an increase from seven to 10 of the number of players on each team randomly tested each week during the season for steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs. That means there will be 12,000 tests each season, up from the current 10,000.

“It is important that the NFL and its players continue to be leaders on the issue of illegal and dangerous performance-enhancing drugs in sports,” said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. “These latest improvements will help ensure that we continue to have a strong and effective program. As we have done in the past, we will review and modify the policy on an ongoing basis.”

In other news, the Cincinnati Bengals have announced they are folding.

I don't know why everyone is so upset about this. Marvin Lewis has had a history of picking "crap" since he was VERY young...

As If you wouldn't like to have Marvin Lewis as the Browns Head Couch. Face it you have a Crap Team & a Crap Coach & making fun of a MUCH better team will net you ZERO wins next year so I'll tell you what, we'll only beat you TWICE next year, again, OK?. If half our team were arrested we would still beat the crap out of you.

Sadly Med I think we may be looking at a much bigger problem then a few ( 9 ) rogue Bengals. I think the problem goes all the way up to the Cincy police chief!!!

You have a police force that is targeting young males in your city and I for one will not stand for it. The term D.W.B is what is used to describe it.

Driving While Bengal.

It needs to stop NOW!

W00H00! Finally something with some bite to it that these guys will have to take notice of.

Kudos to the new Commish and the NFLPA

Sadly though, this means that Marvin Lewis has to change his draft strategy...new Bengals will have to be much more creative to keep up the Arrest/Month Ratio now that Drugs will be too expensive of an offense.

Bengal's Chris Henry Behind Bars
Last Update: 1/25/2007 9:57:46 AM

Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry is in jail today.

Henry appeared in a Kenton County court this morning to face charges of providing alcohol to minors.

Instead, Henry entered a guilty plea to one count of violating Covington's keg law.

The judge gave Henry 90 days in jail but suspended 88 of those days.

Henry will stay behind bars until Saturday morning.

Henry was also given 2 years probation, was ordered to undergo alcohol and drug counseling, and must give 2 speeches to local students.

Local 12 reporter Joe Webb was in the courtroom when the judge delivered a scathing assessment of Henry's character, calling him a "cancer on the community".

Henry still faces drunk driving charges in Ohio. He's been arrested 4 times in the past 7 months in 3 states.

He may also face suspensions from the league. The NFL suspended Henry after his first 2 court cases ended in plea agreements.

We'll have the full story coming up on Local 12 Live at Noon.

Below is the official release on the Henry case from the Kenton County Attorney:

Kenton County Attorney Garry Edmondson announced today that the three pending charges of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor in the third degree, lodged against Cincinnati Bengal player Chris Henry's were amended to a single charge of "Permitting Possession or Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on Premises". This law is often referred to as a "keg law" and it makes the occupant or person in possession of property, including a hotel room, responsible for the actions of people, under the age of 21 if they consume alcoholic beverages on those premises.

Although probable cause for the original charges, that Chris Henry gave alcohol to minors in a Covington Hotel room, did exist at the time of Chris Henry's arrest, that probable cause rested, in large part on the statements of Cincinnati resident Monica Beamon. Subsequent events, including Ms. Beamon's being charged with making a false allegation of rape and with being charged with murder in an unrelated case, gave prosecutors concern regarding her entire version of the events of April 29th at the Radisson Suites Motel. Prosecutors also have concerns about the likelihood of having her available for testimony at the upcoming misdemeanor trial.

The Kenton County Attorney's investigation, in which Mr. Henry's attorney cooperated, revealed other witnesses including the two other minor females who were present indicated that the alcohol was brought into the hotel suite by another adult male.

However, Chris Henry drove the vehicle to the liquor store where alcohol was purchased which was taken to the Covington Hotel along with the minors. The investigation revealed that while present at the party, Henry never consumed alcohol nor served or gave any alcohol to any minor present. During the evening, the underage females did consume alcoholic beverages. Their drinks were either poured for them by adults other that Chris Henry or were obtained by them helping themselves to the bottle.

Because Chris Henry, at 23 years old, was the adult who rented the motel suite that night, drove the car, and stopped to accommodate the purchase of alcohol, he bears responsibility under the Covington ordinance for the conduct of others who were present and who partied with alcohol while there. In entering his plea, and accepting his sentence, he acknowledges that he should have intervened to insure that no one under 21 was drinking, while he also remains steadfast in his denial that he was guilty of the three charges of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor for which he was originally arrested.

LMFAO! Lowlife bunghole player getting a motel room to liquor up some under age girls. With this many arrests, it makes you wonder how many crimes he's committed where he didn't get caught or paid his way out.

I wonder if the Bengals will draft the pick pocket in the 2nd round and what are the odds on one of their fans calling the jerk line on Chris Henry when they see him slipping beers to some teenage girls in the stands

C'mon let's sing the lyrics together! .... Sung to the tune of the Bears Super Bowl Shuffle!

CHORUS
We are the Bungals ..the Shufflin' Crew
Shufflin' on down, doin' it for you.
We've been so bad, for so many years.
Don't act surprised we’ve turned to drugs and beer.
You know we're sad, but this rap fun,
We now toot our own horn to everyone.

We're not here to say, “Who Dey”
We're just here to say, “We’re Gay!”

Rudi Johnson

Well, they call me Rudi,
And I am the best
all the DJ’s love to feel my breasts…

Showering with the team is like makin' romance.
We've been sharing the soap since training camp
We dont' do this for Mike Brown or city hall
The Bungals do this because we like male balls
We didn't come here to say, Who Dey”
We're just here to say, “We’re Gay!”

Chad Johnson

This is chatty Chad, and I'm world class.
I like wide receivers, cause they have a sweet a$$
I gaze at my Fathead ...all day and all night.
but you know I’ll be ready for a Sunday fight.
Now I have gold teeth and I beat my wife
but when the Steelers come to town I run for my life
Nobody here has a Johnson like me
It's handled with care by Carson and Ru-di.

Odell Thurman

I'm Odell, I like to have fun…
I’m on a De-fense that can’t stop the run
I'm new in the league, they call me Thur-man-ator
Though it doesn’t stop me from being a master-baiter
See I spank my monkey, and that’s no lie
You can show me a women but you know I want a guy
Just gimme a chance, to make a sweet play
When you see me once, you’ll know I’m gay.

Carson Palmer

I'm the west coast boy known as Rosy Palmer
Before the game, there’s no one calmer
I get frustrated easy, and I fall to the ground
as my offensive line just stands around
I wear tight briefs, cause I like to tease.
My teammates tell me, I aim to please.
I’m not really crazy ‘bout being a Bungal
but I'll grope the Hou-Dey's nuts
when we’re in the jungle.

TJ Houshmandzadeh

I'm TJ Taliban and I'm doing well
I look around and see the infidels
I cut across the middle looking for more
cause I play this game like a holy war
Some guys are jealous of my hair and class,
That's why I end up getting knocked on my A$$
I didn't come here lookin' for trouble.
I just get down to the Bunghole Shuffle.

(new addition)

Chris Henry

I'm Chris Henry and I'm not 1st string
but that won't stop me from getting my ring
If they throw it to me I'll drop that pass
attention span is short 'cause I love smoking grass
No big deal I got busted with weed
it's better than crank to fix my need
they tell me its time to enter re-hab
I'll be out after Christmas
and for that I'm glad.

Henry should be chained to Marvin Lewis' radiator until training camp starts in July. It would keep Henry out of trouble, it would force Marvin to take this seriously, and it would be a great premise for a reality TV show. I know I'd watch!

Med,

I love your futile hit and run attempts at smack. I have to respond to something though:

Quote:

No, man, you've got it all wrong. Believe me, we would all LOVE to have Marvin as the team's head couch.

Please tell me you're not a med student at UC. I'll have to warn my fiancé...as well as anyone who you may ever operate on.

I think I could come up with a tortious malpractice claim just from looking at your posts.

I didn't think you would show up. After all you called me clueless, bitter, ignorant, and jealous for saying that the arrests would take a toll in the locker room. Now that Bungles are coming out and saying just that, guess that proves that I was right about you....a homer desperate to spin things. LOL, must really have hurt for you to read Palmer and other Bungles actually CONFIRMING YET AGAIN that Coach is right.

I only called you those things because they are true

Yes I'm a homer, but certainly not desperate..All I need to know is that none of these people who got in trouble cost the Bengals any games..The team was simply over confident. Something you being a Clowns fan, would never understand.

Quote:

Can you please tell me when, I condoned the players gettiing in trouble? Or said that the arrests weren't embarassing? I agree with Palmer. He said that all of it needs to stop. Many players have stepped up and said the same thing. I'm glad they are doing it..

However this will not change the facts that: Even if distracted, the Bengals are light years ahead of the sorry Clowns. Even distracted, we smacked you guys all over the field twice last season. Even distracted, they still competed for a playoff spot..(the blowing up of the team that you predicted, didn't happen)

If anything, Clowns fans should hope the arrests continue, its the only hope that you have of even being worthy of being on the same field with the Bengals. So yes, you were right about the distraction..But in my book coach, you know what they say about sunshine and dogs right???
