The place to talk smack. Keep in mind that name calling is not to be used as a last resort when you've been smacked upside the head and don't have a comeback. Name callers, trolls and ghosts will be tossed. No Rome wannabes allowed.
I can't find a way to smack without name calling because I have no comebacks because I don't want to get in trouble with the law. Trolls and ghosts are scary things I don't like them I don't want nightmares. And I like JIm Rome so I don't want to ruin his name by acting like him.

Joseph becomes ninth Bengal arrested in nine months CINCINNATI -- Bengals cornerback Johnathan Joseph was arrested early Monday and charged with possession of marijuana, the ninth Cincinnati player arrested in the last nine months. The arrest came three weeks after coach Marvin Lewis announced he would get tougher on player conduct, hoping to stop a series of arrests that has embarrassed the team and drawn the attention of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. "We don't comment on these matters when they're unresolved," team spokesman Jack Brennan said. "We don't believe it's appropriate when it's still at the level of charges." Joseph was arrested on U.S. Route 42 in northern Kentucky. He lives nearby in Union, Ky. The Boone County sheriff's arrest report said Joseph was the passenger in a vehicle driven by a woman who had a suspended license, was driving slowly and weaving. When a sheriff's deputy asked Joseph to get out of the vehicle so it could be searched, Joseph reached for a black backpack with a Super Bowl logo, the arrest report said. The deputy wrote in the report there was a "strong odor" of marijuana. When the deputy began searching the backpack, Joseph "stated that there was a bag of marijuana" in the backpack, according to the arrest report. The deputy said he found a bag of marijuana in a pouch next to a video game. Joseph was arrested at 2:15 a.m., taken to the county jail and released. His first court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 5. Marijuana possession is a misdemeanor that carries a maximum of one year in jail and a maximum $500 fine. The Bengals have had the most arrests in the NFL over the past 13 months. Nine players have been arrested, and linebacker Odell Thurman and receiver Chris Henry have been suspended by the NFL for misconduct. Henry has been arrested four times, the first time for possession of marijuana. Two of his court cases have been settled, and two are pending. Those two cases could bring additional punishment from the league, which suspended him for two games. Thurman was suspended for the entire season for repeated violations of the league's substance-abuse policies. He skipped a drug test, drawing a four-game suspension. It was extended to a full season after a Sept. 25 arrest on a drunken-driving charge. Joseph was the 24th overall pick in last season's draft. He played in every game and started eight of them, including the final seven in place of Deltha O'Neal. O'Neal was hurt and benched for one game after his Dec. 9 arrest on a drunken-driving charge. Two days after O'Neal's arrest, Goodell called Bengals president Mike Brown to express his concern and offer help in ending the team's off-field problems. During a visit in September, Goodell reminded the players of their responsibility to stay out of trouble. Lewis initially defended his players. But after Goodell's visit, he started taking a harder line publicly. The Bengals lost their last three games to finish 8-8 and missed out on the playoffs. After the season, Lewis said some of the team's veterans had asked him to get tougher with the players. "The biggest thing I would say to you is there's some things probably that in the first year or so [as head coach] I wouldn't tolerate, and I've become a little bit more tolerable of," Lewis said. "And I think there's an outcry from our guys to go back that way. I hear it and see it, so that's my challenge is to go back to that. "We've tried to allow guys to both mature as men and mature as players. But the thing we continue to find is they've got to be constantly coached, policed and corrected so that at times of adversity, we can do the right things." Guess he just wanted to be like Deltha...
All joking aside though - even the jokes are getting old - this is sad and disgusting. I'm not merely saying this as a fan of a rival team, either. If this were any of the Browns players, I would want them off the team.
Horrendous, and incredibly stupid that they just don't learn and act like adults. Absolutely abominable. I've never witnessed a more immature group of thugs who attempt to fly in the face of the regulations and laws of society.

As much as I want to laugh about this...ill take an objective stance
The Bengals really are having a problem
They really need to get this bad seed stuff under control. The Bengals are going to fall hard if they continue this. Look at the 9 players, they wouldnt be a very good team without those 9 guys. I mean, some are more valuable than others, but look how much they struggled without Henry.
The Bengals are a sinking ship and they need to straighten this out. Marvin needs to take control. Or the owner or something.
Pretty soon theyll have to change the name of Paul Brown Stadium to, Cincinatti Correctional Facility

And Paul Brown would be rolling over in his grave to see his name on the house of thugs that exist there now.

The thing that gets me is they just signed a guy for Europe, who spent a year in prison for beating up a guy for 4 dollars and a phone. I can see taking a guy for value, when he has a history, but not 2 or 3 guys a draft. They have got a real problem, with unlawfulness. I don't know which is worse, having a crappy team, or having a potential contender, that can't stay on the field.

Maybe Marvin Lewis is just out to prove that character isn't all that important in the game of football.

Wow, this is really unprecedented. How many is that now? 9? If this were the Browns, I would be very, very embarrassed. Even moreso than I already am every Monday.

http://www.local12.com/content/breaking_...21-19bf10317a5fBengal's Chris Henry Behind Bars Last Update: 1/25/2007 9:57:46 AM Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry is in jail today. Henry appeared in a Kenton County court this morning to face charges of providing alcohol to minors. Instead, Henry entered a guilty plea to one count of violating Covington's keg law. The judge gave Henry 90 days in jail but suspended 88 of those days. Henry will stay behind bars until Saturday morning. Henry was also given 2 years probation, was ordered to undergo alcohol and drug counseling, and must give 2 speeches to local students. Local 12 reporter Joe Webb was in the courtroom when the judge delivered a scathing assessment of Henry's character, calling him a "cancer on the community". Henry still faces drunk driving charges in Ohio. He's been arrested 4 times in the past 7 months in 3 states. He may also face suspensions from the league. The NFL suspended Henry after his first 2 court cases ended in plea agreements. We'll have the full story coming up on Local 12 Live at Noon. Below is the official release on the Henry case from the Kenton County Attorney: Kenton County Attorney Garry Edmondson announced today that the three pending charges of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor in the third degree, lodged against Cincinnati Bengal player Chris Henry's were amended to a single charge of "Permitting Possession or Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on Premises". This law is often referred to as a "keg law" and it makes the occupant or person in possession of property, including a hotel room, responsible for the actions of people, under the age of 21 if they consume alcoholic beverages on those premises. Although probable cause for the original charges, that Chris Henry gave alcohol to minors in a Covington Hotel room, did exist at the time of Chris Henry's arrest, that probable cause rested, in large part on the statements of Cincinnati resident Monica Beamon. Subsequent events, including Ms. Beamon's being charged with making a false allegation of rape and with being charged with murder in an unrelated case, gave prosecutors concern regarding her entire version of the events of April 29th at the Radisson Suites Motel. Prosecutors also have concerns about the likelihood of having her available for testimony at the upcoming misdemeanor trial. The Kenton County Attorney's investigation, in which Mr. Henry's attorney cooperated, revealed other witnesses including the two other minor females who were present indicated that the alcohol was brought into the hotel suite by another adult male. However, Chris Henry drove the vehicle to the liquor store where alcohol was purchased which was taken to the Covington Hotel along with the minors. The investigation revealed that while present at the party, Henry never consumed alcohol nor served or gave any alcohol to any minor present. During the evening, the underage females did consume alcoholic beverages. Their drinks were either poured for them by adults other that Chris Henry or were obtained by them helping themselves to the bottle. Because Chris Henry, at 23 years old, was the adult who rented the motel suite that night, drove the car, and stopped to accommodate the purchase of alcohol, he bears responsibility under the Covington ordinance for the conduct of others who were present and who partied with alcohol while there. In entering his plea, and accepting his sentence, he acknowledges that he should have intervened to insure that no one under 21 was drinking, while he also remains steadfast in his denial that he was guilty of the three charges of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor for which he was originally arrested

This was just up on ESPN. It includes some of the players' responses to the arrests. Carson's is pretty funny. Bengals vets angry, embarrassed by latest arest The arrest of Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Johnathan Joseph has members of the team angry, embarrassed and concerned that guilt by association has ruined public perception of the team. Earning Their Stripes? … Johnathan Joseph Joseph Johnathan Joseph is the ninth Bengal to be arrested in the last nine months. Here's a list of those Cincinnati players and their off-field troubles: Player Pos. Charges Johnathan Joseph CB Possession of marijuana Deltha O'Neal CB Driving while intoxicated Reggie McNeal WR Resisting arrest Matthias Askew DT Resisting arrest Eric Steinbach G Boating under the influence Chris Henry WR x-Total of five Frostee Rucker DE Spousal battery A.J. Nicholson LB Burglary, grand theft Odell Thurman LB Driving while intoxicated x-unlawful transaction with a minor (three counts), speeding, operating a vehicle under the influence, felony possession of a concealed firearm, possession of marijuana. First arrest was in December 2005. Joseph was arrested early Monday and charged with marijuana possession. He's the ninth member of the team to be arrested since Jan. 1, 2006. The team's front office did not comment on the latest arrest, saying its policy is to not comment on pending legal matters. But in his end-of-season news conference, coach Marvin Lewis said he would be far stricter with the team in 2007. Defensive tackle John Thornton and other Bengals told the Cincinnati Enquirer that the arrests are dragging the team down. Everyone in the locker room is affected, he said. "Willie [Anderson], Carson [Palmer], John Thornton, the guys who do things right, have been forced to answer for the guys who decided not to do the right thing," linebacker Brian Simmons told the newspaper. "The perception of the team across the country is bad. It's as if it's going around like the plague." "If it doesn't stop, we're not going to have any fans left, and I don't blame them. It's ridiculous," Palmer said in comments posted on the team Web site. "We can't get through a month without getting a guy arrested. It happens on another team and they're shocked and surprised to hear about it," Palmer said. "With us, you hear about it and it doesn't surprise you and you just shake your head and say, 'Another one,' " he said. Anderson told the Enquirer he and other veterans warned their teammates not to become "No. 9 or No. 10," in reference to becoming the ninth or 10th Bengals player arrested since the start of 2006. "The thing that is kind of scary is that guys should be feeling like, 'I should make sure not to become No. 9 or No. 10,' " Anderson told the newspaper. "It's kind of become a joke out here, 'Who will be the next Bengal,' " Anderson told the Enquirer. "I told guys that you are going to look really bad if you are the next guy. I said they can't even put themselves in that position." Thornton told the Enquirer that after Deltha O'Neal's DUI arrest on Dec. 9, Cincinnati Police met with the team for an educational session on drunken driving enforcement. Thornton said the session opened his eyes. "Even big guys can blow a 0.08 after having just three or four beers with dinner. You don't need to feel drunk to be drunk," said Thornton, who tips the scales at 295 pounds. That convinced Thornton to change the way he drinks in social settings, he told the newspaper. "I won't drink when I'm out unless I have a driver or someone else is [the designated driver]," he said. "Guys have to be in control."
