I'd move it to the last race too, especially now that they have the chase. That would be out of the question from far too many people though.

They also need to throw a roadcoarse into the chase.

I hate the road parades. Why have a parade in the chase?

Because its a lot truer test of someone's driving ability. Road course races are far more exciting IMO. I prefer Formula 1 and IRL to NASCAR though, so I know I'm in the minority on this one...

When it comes to nascar, yes, you are in the minority. When it comes to F1 fans, road parades are in the majority.

What I would hate to see is nascar attempting to bring in F1 fans by running more parades. Nascar is not about road racing. Let some other series fill that niche. Nascar is go fast, turn left.

Ever wonder why they only run 4 parades a year? Cause very few want to see that. Nascar should do what they do best - ovals, and let F1 do what they do best - road courses.

The IRL is losing fans hand over foot ever since the merger with champ. Know why? Too many road parades. That may selll in europe, or south america. It doesn't sell here.

What you could do is flop it out for the Firecracker race in July,....

As for road courses,...you can can all of them for all I care, and bring real NASCAR racing to other tracks that are waiting for a break,...i.e, Kentucky.

I grew up on the Saturday and Sunday dirt tracks of northeast Ohio,....Canfield and Sharon Speedways(s), Mansfield and Wayne County,....those were shows. I wouldn't mind at all if NASCAR went to those old kinds of formats, instead of 500 miles of the same crap week after week,....

The Helmet Dash, 3 Heat Races, an Australian Pursuit, The Consolation, and then The Feature.

Spice it up a little. Most NASCAR fans don't even know what the above lineup is.

I'm with you Yep. I love road racing and I wish NASCAR actually did MORE of it. And I agree that a road course should be in the Chase. If you're trying to determine the BEST driver in the series, shouldn't it test ALL the abilities, not just a select few?

When I first started watching racing, I HATED the road races, I found them boooooooooring. Now, however, I've learned to enjoy them, and hell, prefer them. It's more of a challenge to the driver, the teams and everyone involved to throw in a right hander every now and then. THAT is what makes a true driver.

And don't even get me started on the cars that I can't buy because they are NOTHING like the ones in the show room! National Association of STOCK CAR Auto Racing my ass! Ain't a damn thing stock about those things on the track. NASCAR will always be my first love for auto racing, but I've come to prefer the art of road racing much more. Though, I don't like F1 or IRL all that much. Give me Grand Am, ALMS, Le Mans and Trans Am (now back in a slightly different form). Heck, amateur racing is really quite exciting too!

Anyone want to see some fun amateur racing, hit me up, I'll hook you with a visit to Nelson Ledges Road Course in Garrettsville, OH. Some of the most fun and friendly racers around.
