Damn those Dolphins. Carey and Crowder were two guys I would have liked to pick up this year.
As the thread title says, they are wish-lists.....best to see what shakes out Friday thru Monday and then kick around about who's left. (and not 35 years old)

Thank god Crowder is off the market....he got a 3year/20mil deal, which is said to be frontloaded....would you give a 2 down ILB 8+mil? Wow, I´m happy we can´t overpay for him...now we HAVE to sign an old stop gap, which is fine with me because it means Bell still may get a chance here in the near future G.Wilson is off the market too btw....the Dolphins look like to be a big player in this FA class, esp. if they also get C/G Brown which being rumored http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9267562/Dolphins-reach-deal-with-free-agent-safety-Wilson

I would handle Free Agency much like I would the draft. Not necessarily bringing in positions of need but bring in the best players available. Young veterans who still have plenty left in the tank. I would target only two players in free agency this year.
DT Albert Haynesworth and C Jason Brown
You can argue that we don't need Haynesworth because we have Shaun Rogers. But why not have the two best DT's in the league and design our defensive scheme around the talent versus the talent around the scheme.
An example would be the Jacksonville Jaguars when they had both Marcus Stroud and John Henderson. Their defense was always one of the best in the league.
Having both Haynesworth and Rogers would give Mangini and Ryan the flexibility to run both the 3-4 and 4-3 much like the Patriots do. On paper our run defense should dramatically improve.
As far as Jason Brown, he is young and could be a part of an OL that could play together for the next 6-7 seasons. This would give our OL the continuity it needs and mimic the blue print of the more successful teams, offensively, in the NFL.

I understand wanting Albert but i don't understand targeting him. We won't have the money.
We best strike early at guys where we have a chance of signing them.
While we are messing about in talks with Albert, players we could get are going out to dinner with other clubs.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn. GM Strong

Thanks for that FA classification...some surprising listings. TJ as low as he had him
Sean Jones pretty low.
The guy that hits me in the face as a type that Kokinis might target and make as our first FAgent.
#30 James Sanders...Patriots backup.
He was a 4th round draft pick in 2005 and Mangini was the DC that rookie year so he should have some knowledge of the kid. But its the type of guy that they would be looking for. A kid that was put on the back burners. But did get some action as I believe the Pats experienced some Harrison injuries.
Maybe with the full time opportunity will shine? He's a FS and again I think that would move Pool to his best Impact at SS.
Of course #50 might be a possibility also but from what I've read Ryan of the Jets will look to compete for his services. I don't think he's worth a Auction Battle for.
I really wish for us to Draft a Center but a lot of that might be determined if we have a trade set up with DA or not. So you know what? If we don't make an effort to sign Jason Brown I'm betting we will be seeing DA gone and a definite use of a pick to get our Center (Luigs )
I'm surprised the guy talks about Canty as a DE...in the Tampa Cover 2 which more teams run than a 3-4 Canty would be a DT not a DE. Sure for a 3-4 he's a DE but for a 4-3 he's a DT. Doesn't serve Pricso well to call him a DE.
A lot of interesting FA's past 15

Guys who intrigue me:
Jason Brown, C - I love spending money on the OL...think other teams will offer more though
Chris Canty, DE - More likely target for us...we could use a replacement starter for Robaire Smith, and Canty fits what we need well.
Of course, OL/DL are two of our better positions, so thinking about where we are weak:
Napolean Harris, ILB - A big strong guy who could fit into a 3-4 well. We need the striaght line strong guy to go alongside Jackson.
Channing Crowder, ILB - Another guy in a similar mold, might be pricier than he's worth
Dominique Foxworth, CB - Not as sure about this guy, but the market for CBs is small.
Honestly i'd resign Sean Jones at safety, i've generally liked what he brings to the table.

You really think we are going to sign a substantial amount of free agents this offseason?

Could this be our next guard? Jets release starting guard Moore to clear cap space Associated Press FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets released Brandon Moore, a starter at guard for the past five seasons. Moore became a starter at left guard late in 2003 and started 73 straight games at right guard after missing three games in 2004 because of injury. The release on Thursday, designed to help give the team salary-cap space, came one day after the team agreed to cut starting wide receiver Laveranues Coles. NFL.com's Steve Wyche reports that Moore was scheduled to receive a $7 million roster bonus. The Jets also cut running back Noah Herron and defensive end Sean Conover, both signed in January nfl.com

At safety I think both Sanders and Leonhard are intriguing. Really both are ???s as full time starters, though. A guy I still like (who's not around here) at WR is Roland Curry, recently cut by Oakland. He won't command Coles $$$ and has the potential to flourish still in a sane environment
