God really does hate Cleveland.

There are only 5 teams to have never played in a Super Bowl...New Orleans, Detroit, Jax, Houston, and Stinkland...

Check this out.. 4 of those 5 cities have at least HOSTED a Super Bowl, that leaves you... Cleve..freaking stinkland all alone...the lonesome losers!

What did you have for supper last night? We had leftover turkey. Then, since my wife was not feeling well, my daughter and I went to her game, then stopped at D.Q. on the way home.

Was it New York style pizza, Chicago style, or Cleveland style?

By the way, my daughter loves salads. She even wanted one for breakfast this morning! She settled for a bagel and cereal though.

Pizza and salad...that was dinner during Anna's first birthday party. Last night though, the hubs had grilled cheese and I had white bean chicken chili. (hubs does NOT eat beans, so he was on his own for dinner! LOL)

I love chili. With no beans whatsover. When my wife makes chili she makes 2 batches. One with beans, one without.

I'm not working friday, and my wife only sleeps for about 2 hours in the morning (she works nights,,,,,,if she sleeps too much friday she obviously can't sleep friday night. How she manages to change her sleep schedule every weekend is beyond me) but anyway, we'll probably both eat lunch with out daughter at school.

I had a good time about 6 weeks ago or so, eating with my daughter at school. And she got a kick out of it too.

I'll be making two batches of chili in March for a party the hubs and I are having. We saw a chili recipe on Food TV that he thinks he'll like. I'm going to make one batch without beans for him, one with beans for everyone else. (or, I'll just heat the beans on the side and let folks add their own).

That sounds like fun, having lunch with your little girl at school. I hope I'm able to do that when my little girl goes to school. I've got a few years though, she just turned one.

Ask and ye shall receive:

Recipe

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 medium Vidalia onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 jalapeno peppers, minced
3 tablespoons ground cumin
2 tablespoons dried oregano
1 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons cayenne
1 pound ground beef chuck
6 links Mexican chorizo, removed from casings
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Gravy Master
2 tablespoons hot sauce
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
2 cups beef broth
2 to 3 bay leaves
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 (8-ounce) container sour cream, for garnish
3 cups grated Cheddar, for garnish
1 small onion, diced, for garnish

Directions
To prepare the chili: Heat oil in a large heavy pot over medium-high heat. Add bell peppers, onion, garlic, and jalapenos and saute until tender, about 6 minutes. Add cumin, oregano, chili powder, cinnamon and cayenne and continue to cook, another 5 minutes. Add beef and chorizo and saute until browned, about 10 minutes, breaking meat apart as it cooks. Add Worcestershire, Gravy Master, hot sauce and tomato paste. Continue cooking until tomato paste turns nicely brown and caramelized, another 3 to 4 minutes. Add beef broth and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer and cook, 1 hour. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Serve with sour cream, grated cheese, onion and Homemade Tortilla Chips. Chili can be made 2 days in advance and chilled, covered. Reheat before serving.

The hubs wants to try this because it has no beans and doesn't use a lot of tomatoes - neither of which he likes. I want to try it because I LOVE chorizo.

Mmmm wow, that sounds good. I wanted a new chili recipe because Shep always makes it the same each and every time, and he refuses to make it any other way, but maybe this will change his mind.

We'll definitely use the beans though. Thanks!

So, anyone seen any good movies lately? I've been pretty busy and haven't had a chance. I've hardly even had time to read.

I did see Gran Torino a few weeks ago. Liked it. Not Eastwoods best in my opinion. It reminded me a lot of Unforgiven. And I like that one too........actually liked it alot more the second time.

Like I said, we saw that a few weeks ago. We'll go to another movie in 6 to 10 months. We have other stuff we enjoy rather than watching movies.

Saw "He's just not that into you" this weekend with the wife. Not a bad movie but I would suggest waiting for it to come out on video. Don't pay the extra money at the theatre

Aww, man. My wife has been pressing me into seeing that as well. Either that or Confessions of Shopaholic. Luckily, I have a lot of work to do lately.

I do that too, right now we are in our slow season so we only work a 40 hour week. I work 12 hour overnght shifts. Start at 6 p.m and work till 6:15 a.m.. We do that 3 nights and then on the last day come in and work 6p.m. to 10 p.m. and get off Thursday night. Thursday morning when I get off after my 12 hour shift I generally only sleep about 3 to 4 hours so that way when I get off at 10p.m. that night I can come home and get to sleep so I can be up Friday morning and have my weekend with the family. I usually have trouble sleeping that Thursday night but a 12 pack of Coors Light generally helps with that

Dont they think it is kind of creepy that you come and eat lunch at the school and your not even with your daughter?

The Mall Cop guy reminds me of the Clowns organization.

Heck, the dude even looks like Mangina!

I finally saw Gran Torino on Sunday... I loved the movie! I thought it was a great story, and I thought Eastwood was great..

Long story short, the movie was written by a guy at a local bar here in NE Minneapolis.. Huge Hmung population in St. Paul which inspired the story.. the reason the movie ended up being shot in Michigan is due to the fact that Michigan is giving those huge tax breaks to film companies to come shoot movies up there...

Your sig.
Giraffes were created when Joe Thomas uppercut a horse??? Did you make that up by yourself???

The Browns were created when Paul Brown took a dump.

Since we're talking movies.
I thought it was OT Alex Karras that played Mongo in Blazing Saddles that punched a horse.

I'm pretty sure the downtown metropolitan scene took place in Detroit, although I could be mistaken.
